Ryan Seacrest interviews Lil Rounds, Scott MacIntyre and Jorge Nunez, the three American Idol contestants advanced to the Top 12 during last night’s results show:

Ryan read a text message from Marc Antony, “…please tell Jorge that Jen I couldn’t be prouder…we were in tears witnessing…pure talent.” Jorge began babbling in Spanish. Scott can’t wait to play a grand piano next week.

The kids were also interviewed by Good Day LA. Dumb questions about what Scott can see on stage. He’s a good sport–he thought Ryan trying to high five him hilarious. Lil thanks America for putting her into the Top 12.

  • I like these three….

  • Jx223:

I am not a fan of any of these three contestants as singers, but I am glad that Jorge learned that Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez like him. Jorge seems like a sweet guy and I’m sure that learning that made him really happy.

  • Of these three I like Jorge

  • snuffles:

While I can’t say I’m seeing star quality in these 3…yet….they’re all just so freakin’ LIKABLE! And Jorge is too adorable for words!

  • Dr. Tracey:

I don’t like any of them.

  • star:

Not a fan of any of these three either. But that’s really sweet about the text message from Marc Anthony!

  • hypertwink:

    Jorge is mucho adorable.

  • leome:

    Talk about not having charisma…

  • Hannah Palindrome:

All three put me to sleep…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    Boring!
    Jorge can sign but zzzzzzzzzz
    Scott=zzzzzzzz
Lil is not unique. Nothing special.

God! Please put Anoop & Matt Giraud through
Please do not put the CRAZY back in-Tatiana…i’m talking to you. Go Away!

  • lovegoodmusic:

All three of them did very well in this interview. And Jorge is a very refreshing addition to the show. His excitement and happiness is very contagious.

  • pj:

I think Jorge is refreshing as well.

  • Hannah Palindrome:

I’m not a fan of putting people through because of their sob stories.
I’m also not into the “nice” guy/girl crap.
Please. Look at Taylor Hicks. I never liked that guy. Where is he now???
Can you really picture any of the three making it? I think Jorge may have an opportunity to go the Marc Anthony route, but the others…hum blah

  • Jorge is soooo charming, great smile. It is not babbling if you understand the language though, it is sweet and grateful (my spanish speaking friends told me that!) Yes, he is a very refreshing change.

  • sillypraguer:

Jorge’s great! He’s quite natural in the interviews. Really hope he gets to do some latin music on the show.

  • YankeeFan08:

Jorge is the only one from this group I am interested in hearing more from. Scott is beyond boring and singers like Lil make my ears bleed. I hope Anoop, Matt and Ricky make it through the wildcard round tonight, but it’s doubtful they will put three guys through. I’m not a fan of any of the girls in the wildcard round.

  • maturin:

The kids are awesome. Uh, the tv peeps a little goofy. You know, TV dude, when someone has some physical issue, you don’t actually have to mention it in every sentence. TV gal: “See you at the party kids” TV dude: “Except you Scott! You’ll HEAR her! Ah ha ha ha.” I don’t know about winning Idol, but Scottie should definitely get a medal for the months of goofy, no account behavior he’ll definitely be experiencing from the awesome world of media.

All three seem to be enjoying themselves and happy to be there, though. I’m not sure I can really picture any of these kids making it, but then again, it’s partly the weirdo structure this year, where it’s about to be top 12 and we’ve only heard them sing one full non-audition song. Without that joy of discovery you get from hearing someone tackle different song challenges, one definitely doesn’t get that good “what if . . . ” buzz going that you need to start caring if they ever made a record.

  • jnd1221:

I’m not a fan of any of these three as performers, but they all have nice personalities. I have my opinions on Scott, but he seems like a genuinely cool guy, very laid back and easygoing, which I love.

  • MissM:

This is the most boring, uncharismatic 3 ever.

  • lissa_c83:

i cant stand this season is this top 3 of the top 9 the best we can do…the judges r getting the ones they want to pick…

-lil round…she is not that great shes just another fantasia wannabe or syesha but even they can sing better than her..the judges just need her to help the demographics

-scott..hes likeable..like how he has passion for his songs..but he is boring as well :/

-jorge..ugh cant stand him…sure hes got a voice..but that is it.. he isnt that adorable..just because he crys everytime he gets up there…and how he always babbles in spanish..i just dont get why people like that…maybe i am just cold hearted :/
they wanted him because they want to expand their viewers and that is it…sorry but i wont like him

  • weareallinnocent:

Of these, Jorge leads by a long, long mile, imo. Talent far surpassing the other two, likability as well. I hope America shows it is as open-minded and diverse as it likes to claim to be. Melting pot, and all. :-)

Sumidol, I appreciate the way you put it, it’s not babble if you speak the language. I wish I spoke Spanish, or any other language besides English for that matter. Being bilingual is such a HUGE benefit these days. Anywho…

  • calimari:

Please. Look at Taylor Hicks. I never liked that guy. Where is he now???

LOL – just scroll thru MJ’s the last few weeks. He’s everywhere!

I do think Jorge is likeable & refreshingly excited to be there – not like it’s owed him. Same with Alison and that guy who sang “Man in the Mirror.” I haven’t seen enough of most of these folks to know how it’s going to go. Last year we thought Carly, Michael Johns or Archie would win as TCO. And it was David Goofy Hair Cook. So I guess anyone can rise up.

  • gingerly:

I’m interested to see Scott play the piano. I don’t care a fig about the other two. I don’t know if I’ll care about Scott after I see him play and sing.

  • sma11ie:

Jorge looks like a werewolf. Sorry. Ever since Jacob from TWOP mentioned it, I cannot get that image out of my head, and thus, can barely stand to watch him on my TV. He seems super-sweet though. Just not my preferred singing style. And the werewolf thing…

Lil– she’s good, but not wonderful enough to justify the OTT pimping. Not trying to needlessly compare them, but I can’t help but feel like they want her to do well to make up for missing out on Jennifer Hudson’s incredible post-Idol success. You know how certain knollers said TPTB’s wanted DC to win to make up for what happened with Daughtry? Well, Daughtry and J-hud are the two names that always get brought up when referencing the whole you-don’t-have-to-win-to-be-successful meme, so maybe this year, they are gunning for a J-hud wannabe to right that wrong. For the record, I think J-hud’s voice and presence are amazing, and have yet to see either reach that level from Lil. Also for the record, I personally believe that DC won not because of manipulations, but because he was awesome. That said, I also won’t negate the fact that the timing was right, and as DC himself has said repeatedly, guys like Bo and Daughtry definitely “paved the way for someone like [him] to have success on the show”. Anyway, that’s my unfounded speculation for the year. If that’s true (they’re looking for the next J-hud), I’m not sure Lil is the answer. I would’ve rathered they looked for stronger versions of Brooke/Jason (aka artist types).

I hope Scott is amazing on the piano, because he seems like a great guy, but this zzz lite-FM stuff is not justifying his position in the top 12 for me.

  • tinawina:

I think Lil is very marketable in the R&B world. She has a killer body and the right attitude… she is so Keisha Cole-ish it’s not even funny. I think that’s why the judges are drooling. I don’t think it’s necessarily “demographics” with her.

Jorge is adorable, but I dunno about being a hit today. I suppose with the right song anything is possible. But he is cute and he has that kind of nonthreatening sexuality that sends the tweeners running to the phone lines.

Scott… yeah, good luck with that buddy. LOL. If he’s a good songwriter he can go the John Mayer route.

  • ordinarygirl09:

I LOVE Jorge and thats so cute that JLo and Marc were watching and proud!

Scott just doesnt have a good voice. I dont think he should have ever made it.

  • ordinarygirl09:

I wish people (the news and judges) would stop comparing lil rounds to fantasia, I this it is a major diss to her.

I think she is more like LaToya London if they really want to compare her to someone.

  • I’m sure that they don’t mean it as a diss, og, since Fantasia did win. But, I do agree with you that she reminds me a lot more of LaToya London.

  • rockvixen:

These people are not very interesting.

  • bjames:

    meh

i don’t dislike them as people, I just don’t care about their music careers.
