Listen to Chris Sligh’s Upcoming Single

Chris Sligh (Season 6) has just posted his upcoming single on his MySpace. It’s called “Empty Me” and will be released to the Christian radio market on February 22, although many stations will add it as early as February 15.

A bulletin sent from Chris’s My Space today:

My first single, all mixed, all mastered, all finished is up on my space! You, yes, you fair friends, can head to my page right now and listen to it. It will both rock your face off and melt your heart. As my page says, it is like psychotropic drugs while experiencing Chinese Water Torture…yes, it’s that good.

Anyway, before I overhype it, you should listen and form your own opinions of it. Hopefully there are good opinions.

Also, remember the album will be coming out May 6. This is a must have for your vinyl collection. Well, it won’t actually be coming out on vinyl. But it will be a good add to your collection of musical masterpieces, including, but not exclusive to: Milli Vanillii, Jump5, *Nsync, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears and Hannah Montana. Don’t pretend like you’re not impressed.

Just buy the album.

But first listen to the single. You will not be disappointed. Unless you are.

Actually, I’d go with the “melt your heart” option.  “Empty Me” is a deeply-felt power ballad, about how fame can screw up your head if you don’t hang on to what’s real.  Chris sings like he means it. Definitely, Check it out

Take A Chance On Something Beautiful’s a great album. I’ll have to listen to the single when I get off of work (filters *boo hiss*), but if the new stuff is anything like Half Past Forever, I’m definitely getting a copy.

I think I like Chris’s myspace bulletin more than the actual song, but since I’ve been listening to Kate Nash sing “D******d” on repeat all day, maybe I’m not in the right frame of mind to appreciate a beautiful, heartfelt power ballad.

Chris sounds fantastic on the parts I listened too. I think he definitely has one of the best male voices evah on Idol. I wish him well with the new CD.

It is a nice song Chris S is not the first to do song about fame and keeping it real ..I think Drake Bell had a song that hinted on that subject .Drake had more of a Beatles feel to it like most Ai Chirs sounds familar. Ok biased I personally do not like him I thought he was a smart ass.

Love. This. Song. Great lyrics, very heartfelt, very sincere, perfect for him… May the stars of Season 6 continue to reveal themselves….

    Love it!

The song has a little MercyMe feel to it, and Sligh sounds heartfelt as he belts it out. I hope he dominates Christian radio…he has the singing chops and a great song, so why not?

Yep - That’s our Sligh! I’ve been listening to this song evolve for several months now, and I tell you - it does not wear thin. This song is destined to become a classic/standard. :thumbup_tb:

Ok I personally can not say I dislike him or not do not know him at all. I just did not like when he was on American Idol ..He came off as guru of american Idol and blogs of some info that was not new . This may not be true of Chris S it is my opinion.

OMG, I absolutely hate when myspace stops to buffer in the middle of a song. Grrrr. Anyway, I haven’t heard the whole song yet, but I really like what I have heard. I’ll definitely be picking this album up when it’s released. :)

Okay, so I finally listened all the way through, and I love it. It really is beautiful. And it’s a *perfect* fit for contemporary Christian radio… and may have some crossover appeal too. Good job, Sligh!

I really liked this song and its message. Chris sounds great too! His voice has a quality that I like and it does not grate on my nerves like some rockers sining a ballad..so that is a plus.
