Phillips said he released the clip because he was tired of seeing the singer negatively portrayed in the media since his death.

“I said let’s grab one piece where we can show people where he was headed,” he said. “He was developing getting his moves together.”

The rehearsal footage, shot in high definition, includes Jackson performing his hits “Thriller” and “Beat It.” Other footage shows production meetings and auditions.

“We have enough audio to make two live albums, and he’s never done a live album,” Phillips said. “This is really the last great work of a 21st century genius.”

The production budget for the 50 London shows, which were set to begin July 13, swelled to more than $25 million, he said.

Part of those costs included 3D technology used to produce what Phillips called “mini-movies” involving “Thriller” and “Earth Song.”

“That’s what’s so compelling,” he said. “Just `Thriller’ is nine minutes of 3D visual insanity.”

Another possibility is a tribute show at The O2 arena in London that would be broadcast worldwide and then sold as a DVD, the promoter said.

Yes!! Check it out! There are a lot of funny moments and heart warming moments. They had a Joseph Jackson day. I can understand Michael forgiving his father because he loves him but Joseph Jackson day? I don’t think he deserves that. Michael just had a warm heart. Micheal’s home movies should be on TV now!

I’m still trying to wrap my head around this whole thing. Honestly, once I watched that rehearsal vid I was even more stunned that he died. What a waste.

Yeah his poor family. Michael couldn’t get peace in life but he is now! So thank God for that.

Most everyone has some kind of addiction…it may be as simple as being a shopaholic, or a hoarder, or smoking or drinking or gambling, or over eating, or exercising too much, or watching too much TV or playing video games for hours, or following a TV show or contestant on the internet for hours at a time.

I’m not condoning what Michael did but I can understand. Once the cycle is rolling along it becomes more difficult to stop until the addiction is in control. I’m glad my addictions are minor and that I can still, at times, push myself away…but the desire is pretty much always there, I just work really hard at controlling it. Michael just lost control!

Yes!! I have watched it! I just got done watching it yesterday! I love the part where he saved that sick little boy by getting him a liver!!! God bless you Michael!!! I wish I knew about this and other good things a long time ago!

As for Michael, it’s a week later and still tough to take in that he’s gone. He looked and sounded great in the clip released by CNN. If this was him at rehearsal, I can’t imagine what he would have been like giving his all during the actual concert. He still had it. There’s really no one I can think of that even comes close to his level of talent and entertainment. It’s the end of an era, for sure. I hope he’s finally found some peace in death.

Thank you!!!!! Michael Jackson always had the moves!! He knew how to work it!

Remembering MJ…

At the same time, neither ANS or MJ were victims. They were drug addicts (seems pretty clear now that MJ was for years) and when you are rich and famous you can always find enablers. Enablers get my scorn and disgust, but the addict is ultimately responsible for their choices. With mj’s money, he could have afforded the best therapy and recovery help, the kind that other people couldn’t afford. Addiction is a sad thing and early death is sad but I don’t think it’s right to portray the doctor as the killer and Michael as the innocent victim, when he no doubt actively sought out doctors and nurses who would give him the drugs he needed and wanted. This particular iv drug sounds horrendous though and I’m surprised the police said the doctor was not a suspect. We don’t know he was actually using that iv on Michael but if he was, definitely it is a crime in my mind.

Yeah they like showing the negative and not the positive. When Michael died (was it channel 13?) showed the Martin Bashere (sp) Michael story again. Now why couldn’t they show Michael’s private home movies?!?!?! That would have been so much better! Something warm and positive!! *sigh*

In the home movies he talks about how he writes songs and he saw a boy at a hospital who was sick. He needed a liver or he would die. Michael had his organization look all over for a liver for this boy because he didn’t want him to die! They found a liver for him!!!!!!

I’ll always appreciate the incredible talent of MJ. That’s what I’ll remember about him. It’s a crime that MJ didn’t get to show the world he could still light up the stage so that he could go out on a high note. Obviously, by the looks of this clip, he still had it. I do take some comfort in the fact that people are appreciating his music all over again.

We haven’t seen all the rehearsals – clearly Michael would put on his absolute best game face when he knew the cameras were on, he’s been doing it all his life.

And then get off the stage and collapse into a wheel chair for all we know and there is a photo of him leaving rehearsal in a wheel chair, just saying.

Healthy people don’t need a doctor at their beck and call.

The reality is the kids are not going to want to be torn apart from their one sibling and the only family they have known to live with a woman who was paid to be their mother. Now she is going to be stressing these kids out unnecessarily along with Mrs. Jackson and other family members.Which is likely why they will pay her off. So the poor kids don’t have to suffer anymore than they are.

Now I am not totally heartless – I think she probably tried to be a part of their lives, she was part of their lives in the beginning but Michael did not allow it once he was finished with her however at the end of the day, you took your money, you agreed to have your rights terminated even if they didn’t quite legally finish that process [apparently that was overturned] but what does say to the children that she was willing to give up her rights for money? You don’t really care about US.

If she only cared about the kids you should have been thrilled the Jacksons said they were willing to reestablish visitation unless she truly feels either Katherine Jackson or Dianna Ross are unfit guardians but I find that hard to believe. Joe Jackson lives in Vegas apparently and not with Katherine so you don’t have to worry about him.

I am sorry – I don’t have much empathy for someone who was willing to agree to a sham marriage and basically be a womb for hire. You play with fire you get burnt.

A contractual arrangement was made, she’s been paid more than once. Contract fulfilled. She is just able to use the law which favours her in spite of the circumstances to get paid one more time. I guess eight million bucks just doesn’t go as far as it used to. I believe that was the last payout she got.

Anderson Cooper had a segment on the fact that Michael had an anesthesiologist on the Victory tour in 1997 and the guy had a mini clinic with him. Some guy named Ratner [any relation to Michael's good buddy director Brett Ratner?] who the CNN team found and asked questions but he would not comment. No kidding. He’ll be on the list the DEA are going to be talking to.

Anderson had on Sanja Gupta and said isn’t it odd to have an anesthesiologist on tour and Sanja said,
very odd, unheard of, he said he was just amazed from a medical point of view all the stuff was coming out or rumours coming out.

The doctor had IV equipment and monitoring equipment according to witnesses, he would stay in the hotel room beside Michael throughout the tour, and he told people that he put Michael to sleep at night and woke him up in the morning, and of course he is alleged to have done this using surgery level sedatives administered by IV – but at least he was monitoring him carefully.

Assuming MJ was still getting this stuff, the last provider of this kind of sedative was either clearly not as diligent or the cumulative effect of doing this for much longer than perhaps was thought along with other prescriptions for a long time all finally caught up to Michael. Maybe Jackson was having trouble finding someone to get this for him and he had to settle for someone less than qualified – can’t understand why he would ask this nurse for that one drug – I can’t imagine a nurse having the ability to score this stuff. Apparently AEG was not happy with MJ hiring Dr. Murray – they said Michael you are going to be in London UK where they have some of the finest doctors in the world, why do you need a doctor 24-7? But Michael insisted so they reluctantly agreed.

That must have been some bad insomnia. The reality is however money can buy even doctors who are risking their medical licenses ergo their livelihood.

Of the two Idol ‘winners’  this year, I thought Kris was the one who was the major Michael Jackson fan. He sang more than one MJ song, recommended to Allison that she sing ‘Give In To Me,’  etc. Yet Lambert (Winner #2) was awarded the Rolling Stone entry in the commemorative MJ issue of RS?

Maybe they also asked Kris to contribute. The issue is almost like a book (96 pages) and they only gave an example of the list of contributors. So, I’d wait till the issue is out before I’d get indignant on Kris’ behalf…

He does have a point with Michael though what do Michael’s accusers think of all this? They are supposed victims. Usually sexual abuse victims relieve what traumatized them when an event occurs…Michael’s death would certainly traumatize them all over again. IF this did occur that is.

That really got me.

This show is supposedly the biggest, most elaborate one AEG ever produced and it’s ready to go. All that’s missing is Michael. Apparently, though, there’s been some talk of doing the entire show as planned only using other artists to sing Michael’s songs. I think that would be the best tribute of all.
