From MJO:
Season 7 buddies, Michael Johns and Brooke White are set to hit the road together in August. Michael is currently promoting his album, Hold Back My Heart, and is getting ready to premiere the video for the single “Heart on My Sleeve”.
Brooke’s album High Hopes & HeartBreak drops digitally July 14 and will be available everywhere July 21. She just released “Radio, Radio”, the first single from the disc.
Both albums were produced by David Cobb (Chris Cornell, Shooter Jennings). Earlier this year, Michael and Brooke recorded the duet “Life is OK” for the soundtrack to the Shaun White documentary, Don’t Look Down.

Ta-Da!
TA DA THANKS =)
Thanks for the heads up on that theme song. I didn’t really like anything from his new album but I just listed to that Wanted clip – I like it!
really? that schedule BLOWS. there’s no place close to me. FML. i really wanted to go to this too.
While nice for fans, this indicates that both MJ and Brooke have accepted themselves as minor celebrities and will not be expanding their fanbases. This is not necessarily bad. They will make a decent living doing what they love.
I prefer “Voila!” but Ta-Da will work.
In fact, I actually yell “Voila!” every time I cut and paste a quotation on the PC. I will confess that I do get some strange looks from people in the immediate vicinity but one has to stick to what works.
I hope they make their way to Texas but doubt it. I couldn’t make it to MJ’s mini-show at the Gaylord Texan when he was here. I think it’s a good thing to do. Most idols have to start out small, even those who have a big label backing them. I don’t know how well it’s doing but I hear “Heart on my Sleeve” on the radio at work quite often. I believe we have it on an XM station. I got his cd and am enjoying it but would have liked a little more rock. One thing I have to say about MJ, he’s taking advantage of opportunities and has been keeping busy over the last year. Interesting about the theme song and the potential David Foster tour.
breakdown they are indie. It is hard to tour with really popular artist when you go indie. Still, idk about Brooke, but Michael will tour in october with “David Foster and Friends”. So he will be singing with people like Seal and Michael Buble (apparently) in sold out concerts.
Well breakdown even artists on major labels have to build their fanbases and many artists every year get dropped from major labels before they even have a chance to start to build a fanbase. Major labels want gold or platinum out of the gate and right now that’s even hard for established acts on major labels. In the old days, acts were allowed to gradual build their fanbases.
Brooke and Michael are doing the best they can with the cards they’ve been dealt but it doesn’t mean either one or both won’t get a Royal Flush down the line. But that won’t happen unless you keep putting yourself out there any and every way you can. Even Idol winners have to keep plugging away because in showbiz attention spans are short.
While it is rare, the story of James Blunt is always to be kept in mind. This guy’s album and single were going nowhere for over a year I believe and somehow his single suddenly got radioplay and the rest is history – history I don’t begin to understand myself because I would use his records as a torture technique, his voice is like chalk on a blackboard to me. Daniel Powter is another example – it was only because his song got chosen for, ironically, American Idol swan song that his album and single blew up.
Jason Mraz was hot as a hip hop artist, faded into obscurity, reinvented himself and now he is back bigger than ever.
Oh Wow..can’t wait for this tour..to bad nothing around me as of yet. I never was much of a fan of Brooke on the show..but to be honest she is starting to grow on me. As for Michael..Damn that boy can sing. I can’t wait to see him live again. I love his new CD…but I also would love to hear more of his ROCK side too. Wow! The theme song for “The Wanted” The Great Divide..Michael is just Awesome! Not worried about these two Artist they a gonna be just fine! Very happy to hear they are touring together. Yahoo!
