Love the little snippet of Another Christmas, I can’t believe we have to wait a whole week to hear the entire song! Michael sounds and looks amazing as usual and I think Feeling Alright is finally growing on me! I love that the newcaster spoke about the philanthropic effort behind Michael’s Christmas song, I definitely think that will help the cause.
Thanks for posting MJ, and thank you to Nancy from MJO for taking the videos!

Thanks for posting this MJ! Love the videos of Michael and I can’t wait for Another Christmas to be released next week! I’m hoping to hear it on the radio before then!
I also love that focused is being placed on the charity aspect. Very generous of Michael to donate all of the proceeds to such worthy causes!

Very nice!!! I think he is doing another event for charity again
tonight. He sounded better than ever. He is very generous
with his talent. One of the many things I love about him.
It’s a wonderful feeling to give back to those less fortunate,
especially at this time of the year. Seems Michael and David
Cook have already figured that out. Good for them!!

Michael Johns!! I love his voice, his charm and his looks aren’t too bad either! I’ll be downloading “Another Christmas” as soon as it’s available. He wrote it for his family so it’s a very peronal song for him, which makes it even more special.

Thanks for posting this, MJ! I’m waiting to hear the whole song on the radio and buy it on iTunes on Dec. 9! The little clips I’ve heard are beautiful and from the heart! I love that Michael is doing so many charity events. He has another one tonight - a benefit for UNIFEM in Los Angeles.

I can’t watch this at work - can someone transcribe the lyrics of Another Christmas? I heard someone on the radio that sounds somewhat like Michael singing a Christmas song and after they played it they said it was brought exclusively by Mossimo Music (one of his sponsors when he came to have shows here) and ABSCBN (the station of that variety show he performed in) so I am trying to connect the dots.

I’m from the Philippines btw, where Michael performed in the Ayala malls.

Anyway, I hope it’s the wrong song and it’s not really Michael’s coz the song was pretty horrid, lyrics-wise.

hardkandy, sorry to disappoint you but it is MJ’s song. When I first heard the clip, I too wasn’t happy about the lyrics but I loved that the soulful voice is there, and the melody is pretty and catchy.

What sealed my support for this song however, is the story behind it–how Michael wrote this song for his family way back and the people who heard it just insisted he release it, and MJ deciding to offer all proceeds to charity, not just in the US but also here in Manila.

And it’s not too shabby how the song has somewhat helped MJ promote himself (an appearance on Access Hollywood, an article on People.com and other possible media mileage in addition to radio airplay in the US and Philippines).

I doubt this is the post-AI make or break single that’ll turn off his fans from AI or turn away non-AI listeners. At least not yet. Though I’m hopeful he’ll actually have a good song from his debut CD that fans and non-fans will like. He’s been singing two-three originals in his post-AI performances and generally, people’s reactions have been so far, so good. Or at the very least, not as harsh as those heaped on other AI alum from this season–and those are just MJ’s old songs from his indie CD, hardly the best and polished tracks that will be on his upcoming CD.

I can also imagine from that tieup with Mossimo, Filipinos will be hearing that song round the clock. I’m guessing it was an ad placement by the company (like the popular Close-Up toothpaste and Coke songs by local pop and rock acts here) so that’s guaranteed airplay for Michael. And he doesn’t even have a CD out yet.

So, I can’t help but root for this song. I heard this while driving to work today and silly but sincere lyrics aside, I was smiling throughout like I’m freaking nuts. Can’t wait for my reaction when I finally hear another song on the radio by MJ next year!

Really, it is him? Well… yikes. Oh well, more power to him if he’s donating it to charity but I really can’t listen to it. The lyrics are awful and the melody won’t make up for that. I haven’t heard any of his other original material so I hope his songwriting is much better than what is shown in this song because I was literally cringing while listening. But if his fans like it, more power to them as well.

Courtesy of TWOP here’s a link to a People.com article about the article with a nice pic of Michael and Nancy O’Dell. It tells the story of why he chose that charity. You can also listen to part of the song. It may not be a classic but I like it. :smile1_tb:
