Michael Johns released “Another Christmas” in the Philippines, where he did a week-long mall tour back in November. Proceeds of the song there will benefit a local charity.
Folks who downloaded purchased the song got a free video. “Another Christmas” was sold as a physical CD in the Philippines. Purplesmlle explains it all here. Check it out–it’s nicely done…

Thanks MJ and MJO for posting this video. I was hoping for a video and this one more than makes me happy. I think this song could become “Another Christmas” mainstay.
I’m glad Michael is keeping himself in the public eye. That increases his chances of having success in this very depressing music market.

I have this video. The song is actually not a download; it’s a physical CD with a free DVD featuring this video that can be bought at Mossimo stores for about $2 or is given (free) to customers who make a minimum purchase of about $50 at Mossimo. The proceeds will benefit Bantay Bata 163, a local charity foundation affiliated with the TV station where MJ appeared as a guest in its Sunday musical variety show.
I remember laughing so hard at MJ’s Greenbelt show when Michael struggled to pronounce Bantay Bata and then tried to defend himself, going on to quip, in that adorable accent of his, “How dare you laugh at me for my accent?! I got enough of that on American Idol with all the Americans going, ‘hey, foreign kid, get out!’” You mean Americans! Heh.
All proceeds of the song, Another Christmas, will go to the Red Cross and ALS, if you purchase it on iTunes or Amazon. I love the video and the song! I purchased the song on iTunes, but it’s also available on Amazon. I think the video is only available in the Phillipines. I guess the proceeds in the Phillipines go to a local charity, but elsewhere the proceeds go to the Red Cross and ALS.
Beautifully done! I wish I had a copy of the physical CD just so I could have this video! Perhaps it was something the they asked him to do in the Phillippines specifically. I’m just so glad his management team agreed to let the video be posted online!

I absolutely LOVE the video and I can’t wait for his videos when his CD comes out in March. I was fortunate enough to have someone send me one of these CD/DVD’s and I have watched it over and over. I do think that this was filmed while he was there but I’m not sure. It even aired on TV in the Philippines. I’m just glad that we were finally able to share it with all the fans.

Wow he looks amazing! I already liked the song but watching it with a video is something else. The camera sure loves Michael, he’s one of the best looking male Idols IMO. Looking forward to more videos of him in his career, go Michael!
I wonder why MJ didn’t play guitar on the show. It might have done him some good. It suits him.
I don’t think he did anything on the show that would have gotten him further than he got. It really angered me because he was my favorite after auditions, but on the show he was karaoke to bad, imo. He has so much more talent than what he showed on AI imo. I just don’t know if he has mainstream appeal. This song probably won’t get him anywhere other than with his hardcore fans. I’m just not one of them anymore. His music will have to be very good for me to buy it and imo, this is not all that good. I didn’t buy it.
The song was out for a few weeks, and hadn’t charted on iTunes, nor was it very high on the Amazon list. At that point, his hardcore fans were the ones buying it. Then, he was on The Today Show. Within an hour, the song leapt to the Top 40 in holiday songs on Amazon and Top 200 in all songs overall. By the end of the day, it was a Top 20 holiday hit, #3 in movers and shakers, and in the Top 50 on iTunes. I see that response from one appearance on one major network program as significant, and a good indication of his mainstream appeal outside the Idol bubble and his fandom.
The video’s okay. It’s pretty cheaply put together. But, when you’ve got that gorgeous face to look at, who cares?

The song aired on MTV in the Philippines i guess. It is a good song. If MJ become a successful artist it sure will become a standard christmas song.

It def isn’t easy for someone who left as early as Michael did to make their mark, especially with his first single being a Christmas song. I entirely agree with MaggieMarie, that with some good publicity this song really struck a chord with people, and it showed in Michael’s sales which is a great sign.
I am really excited for Michael and can’t wait to hear his album…I think it will be different from the usual music we hear on the radio and to me that’s not bad but refreshing!
Even though the video is pretty basic, I love it! Michael doesn’t need much besides his voice and his gorgeous self!! I wish we could have gotten a hard copy of the CD, along with the video, here in the US.
I think that the song is lovely, and that it struck a chord with a lot of people that heard it on the Today Show…that and the fact that all proceeds went to charity.
