Michael Johns Signs With 3 Ring Projects
Michael Johns and Elliott Yamin have something in common.
They are both signed to the management company 3 Ring Projects, also home to Kelis, Jermain Dupre and Everlast.
Elliott Yamin has a gold album, and his single “Wait For You” was a hit and went platinum–all this despite releasing the album independently. It appears that Michael is in good hands as he sets to release his own independent album in March, and the single in January.

That’s great news! I really feel like there was so much talent in S7 – in the end it may be even more interesting to watch the trajectories of some of the non-Davids over the next few years (though of course I have a feeling 2009 will simply be The Year of David Cook Part Deux in my life). But again, congrats to Michael, and here’s hoping he has as much success with 3 Ring as Elliott has had.
Yeah. I hope he has the same kind of success Elliot did, or even more!!

I think Season 7 will end up being pretty prolific. I’m impressed that so many of them have landed good representation. Smart bunch. Plus, they seem to be the group with the most overall commercial potential, imo. I expect Jason to announce something soon, and hopefully Brooke, whose manager pre-idol was pretty connected. I think she went back to him. Carly is making moves too as we saw a few posts ago. Amanda’s album is quite cool, right up her alley, and she will shine with that on tour. Josiah is poised to be the first credible indie rocker to come off the show. Those, to me, where the most promising of this year’s bunch, and they are all handling things well.
The only one I wonder about it Syesha. I think she has good career potential too, just not as a solo artist unless she gets a super-hot producer. But she definitely could get into acting if she tried. Her problem is I don’t know if she has the self-awareness to make good decisions.

Yay, finally some official news about Michael’s representation! I’m so glad that Michael is working with people who seem to know what they are doing and want to help him put quality music out there. Now all we need is that fabulous album to hit gold and I’ll be happy!
Elliott’s new CD is supposed to come out in March too. The managers will be very busy with two artists releasing in the same month.
It’s great to have official confirmation! He’s smart and I think he’s made a good decision. Can’t wait to hear more Michael Johns music! Very soon now!
