Due to Idol’s reshuffled schedule, the FOX Reality Channel’s American Idol Extra debuted at 1 am ET last night.
In case you missed it, I’ve got some video here. First, Michael Sarver’s exit interview with host Jillian Reynolds. Plus, she interviews Idol band leader Rickey Minor and Smokey Robinson, with Michael joining them at the end.

Michael really is a class act. I wish him well in all his future endeavors.

So, I’m not a Danny hater, but imo he’s definitely making it hard for me to love him! His guilty pleasure being facials & mani/pedi…., then talk of his album maybe having a Sarver song…whatever.
Other info, Kris likes not to shower and wants kids….hope he’s told Mrs Kris! Adam loves Gossip Girl (me too Adam!). Meghan likes to sleep, Matt loves Disney movies (ahhh, yeah, right) and there’s a whole lot of love for chocolate.
Anoop’s guilty pleasure is crossword puzzles. He’s a word nerd/geek….lol, what a surprise! Luv him. It was funny how intense Michael said he is over their basketball games.
Wow, Michael… what a sweet guy. I hope I can find someone just like him. Good luck to you Michael. This is just the beginning!

AWWWWW!!! Best of luck to the idols “papa bear” LOL. I’m in the minority here but I’ll miss him!
ETA: I had to add, LOL at the Garnier “commercial”. I assume that they’ll do that for all the idols. Must have been tough to come up with something to say for Michael!
I also find Jillian much less fingernails on a blackboard (do they still have chalk boards?) than previously. I’m still thinking her true nature will come shining through eventually.
Our group may be small Jersey, but we’re lots of fun!
Michael was gracious in defeat. Odds are, he won’t be multi-platinum recording artist, but it’s nice to know that he bought himself a year off of that oil rig and some tour money for the college funds.
Awwww, Michael is just, hands down, a great guy! I teared up. I did last night on the good-bye song too. He reminds me, somewhat, of a good friend of mine from the South who grew up in a broken home and has endeavored to be the best father ever…and has done well. I think Michael will too!
I laughed too at Anoop’s intensity at basketball, I don’t find that hard to believe for some reason.
It’s okay that Danny likes pedicures, etc. lol, but ugh, they DID NOT have to show it!

Michael is such a great guy. He’s the real deal and a true inspiration. His family has much to be proud of.
I’m happy for the opportunity that this has brought him. I’d like to hear some of the songs he wrote. He came across very articulate and I think there are layers to Michael that we may be surprised to see. I happen to like upbeat and I’m glad he leans in that direction. Life can be harsh and miserable and music can ease the pain and heal.
I’m quite surprised at Jillian. She’s doing a good job with this. I had huge doubts because I watch the Fox LA morning show (I cannot call that show news at all) during Idol season.
I’m liking the format of this with a real interview, the comments from the other Idols, Ricky, Smokey, etc.
