    Wow!

I don’t wish them any ill will, and I actually like them!

But that is a horrible line up!!

    Style wise I mean!!

  • dhunken:

I have down loaded Michael’s singles and I have to say I like them especially “You Are.” Great song. Not comparing but I like his single better then Danny’s and Danny’s is good. I just feel Michael fits better in the country genre then Danny. Michael sort of reminds me of Josh Gracin. Who I also liked and I don’t like country. Great Job Michael. The song is now #114 on Itunes Country charts.

  • nehope:

Not my kind of music but Michael is such a sweetheart I will buy these songs AND his album when it comes out (may never listen to it!) because I really would like him to be successful.

  • leilamaurizia:

I was browsing through the iTunes country songs chart and was surprised to see him there. “You Are” is currently #108 on country.

  • BootStar:

He sounds good! MUCH better than anything “country” I’ve heard from Gokey.

  • unohav_1:

I LOVE Cinderella Girl. Seriously check the tunes out. I was in the camp of not thinking I’d like them too.

  • austintoo:

I bought them without listening first because I want to support him. I admire the character he has shown in the past few months. I will listen to them though! Even though country and I don’t really get along.

I bought the 2 song CD the other night at the holiday concert. I saw lots of other folks do so as well. Michael seemd to be the “star” of the concert I saw in terms of number of fans.

I wasn’t for or against Sarver during his short run on the show, but I have come to like him since – especially for his support of Adam. I don’t suspect that is too popular in his community.

  • austintoo:

Popular in which community? Sarver is quite popular IMO in the Adam community because of his behavior and attitude on the tour and since.

  • suebrody:

Very happy for Michael. I think the Tour was a life-changing experience for him, and I hope he garners success with this album. I will buy the singles to support him, whether or not I like them (haven’t had a chance to hear them yet).

  • revcat:

Hope Michael is successful. I also think country is a good fit for him and let’s face it if Carrie U. and Taylor S. are any example, country fans are the only ones who are buying made in America albums in big numbers.

  • jinxx315:

Wow he looks hot on the cover. :)

  • Laury:

Hope he does well :) He deserves it.

  • kneipho:

Nice job, Sarver. Looking forward to hearing more from you!

Popular in which community? Sarver is quite popular IMO in the Adam community because of his behavior and attitude on the tour and since.

In the oil-rigging, macho man, conservative community from which Sarver originated. He himself admitted that he had grow tremendously since joining the Idol-universe and that Adam is a major reason for that. I don’t want to paint all small town Texans with the same brush as I try not to stereotype, but I would not be surprised is Sarver -originally – was not a product of his environment. Oftentimes when people change they meet some sort of resistance from the folks that have been around them for a while.

I like Michael and really enjoyed him in the AI Live Tour this summer. While not a country music fan at all, I downloaded his 2 songs from i-Tunes to support him. I hope he does well!

  • thisisourturn:

Michael is a nice guy. And I am glad he is working in music. But he is not in the same league as Danny Gokey. Michael finished 10th on AI, and is signed to a small, indie label.

I doubt he will get anywhere near the promotion Danny has gotten and will continue to get. Danny has the RCA Nashville machine behind him. He also has the talents of Mark Bright.

In all 8 seasons, Danny is the first 3rd place finisher to record with 19E. He is the first male idol to be signed with 19E and a major Country record label. And he is only the 2nd Idol that superstar Mark Bright has worked with.

  • dante:

My adult son went with me to the Idol tour – we were going mainly to see Adam, Allison and Kris. We both were pleasantly surprised with Michael’s voice and charisma (this was towards the end of the tour). I could see him possibly being successful like Bucky (S5) and I will definately buy his songs. Go Michael!

At our show, vocally Adam, Allison and Danny excelled – (I am now a big Danny fan too). I would have placed Michael next followed by Kris.

  • RowZee824:

I like these songs by Michael. I also enjoyed him on the tour. I wish him much success. He deserves it.

  • PJG:

I like Michael’s songs and wish him well. Also really liked him a lot more on tour than on AI, he has a rich voice.
Since some are comparing him to Danny (they are both in the country genre), IMO- they are quite different-country is encompassing many different sounds, just as rock is, from Kenny Chesney to Lady Antebellum to Taylor Swift.
Michael sounds a little more “country generic”/traditional, whereas Danny has quite a unique sound to his voice, and definitely trends more bluesy in his delivery. Danny probably has more crossover potential.
They both are such sweet guys; Michael tweeted to buy his song “If you want”! and Danny tweeted today that “Michael, Kris, Adam and Allison all have music for sale and urged his followers to “buy their music and support his friends”.
    Awwww.

  • JosieX:

I like Michael, I was happy to buy his songs today and I hope he will do very well. I like it that the idols in this batch are tweeting in support of each other. They each want to do well but want the others to succeed too, and that genuine goodwill makes me like them and want to support them.

I wasn’t sure if I would like the songs or not, but I do like them.

  • steph6449:

Michael seems like a nice guy who is trying to do the most he can for himself and his family with the opportunities he earned through AI. It may be a challenge to have any major success in country with the label he’s working through, but if he continues to promote himself and seize his chances he can probably do what he loves and make a good living, especially if he can find some direction to leverage his interest in songwriting as well as performing. [ No more lines about kerosene, though, pls Michael? :) ]
His voice feels a little high and thin to me for a country singer, but he certainly has the look, personality and background to fit the image of a country performer. Re the Danny comparisons, Danny has less of the twang and lacks the southern background, but I find his voice much more interesting and commanding than Michael’s, and no doubt Danny has an A-quality team of people behind him by any information available so far. Danny also has a lot more expectations to meet than Michael.

I’m sure they all wish each other success. It was nice seeing them tweeting about each other’s new music yesterday. I don’t like it though when I see fans badgering them to do that in public as if they have to prove something to us. We know they all keep in touch behind the scenes by texting or phone, email. They shouldn’t have to put their support for each other on display every time one of them has some newsworthy event.
