Misty May-Treanor Leaves “Dancing With The Stars” due to an Achilles Tendon Injury

According to Perez Hilton, Brooke Burke told Valentine in the Morning at 104.3 FM in Los Angeles in an interview this morning, that Misty May-Treanor hurt her Achilles tendon and that she’s out of the competition.

“Just like that, it’s over for her,” says Brooke.

Brooke tells 104.3 that Misty may be having surgery this week, but, “We don’t know yet.” Brooke is hearing that partnerless pros Max and Edyta may be dancing together this week, but she doesn’t yet know how the producers plan to handle the void left by Misty’s departure.

Will the producers bring back Kim Kardashian, who was eliminated last week? Or just not eliminate anybody tomorrow? It’s probably too late and actually would be kinda cruel to throw Kim back into the competition without the opportunity to rehearse properly. But who knows.

The story is still developing, Watch this space for updates.

ETA: On Saturday, Derek Hough blacked out after he hit his head in a fall Saturday, he was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but he’s OK now.  This is an accident prone bunch!

I hope she’ll be okay. But, I’m so sad Maks is out of the competition. Having him back this season really made the show.

I also hope Kim won’t be brought back. Not only does she not have time to get up to speed, she was pretty worthless as a dancer even when she was training daily. What would be the point?

I’d rather bring back Ted McGinley, but that might create some awkwardness with Max :-)

They probably just won’t eliminate anyone this week.

I think they should eliminate someone and just cut the season a week shorter. They may not want to do that for ratings, but these shows drag along long enough already.

It doesn’t make sense to bring back Kim. I must say I am not as interested in the show this season with Maks gone. :glurps_tb:

    That’s all.

(PS - I agree with t2. I think that’s probably how they’ll handle it tonight. Misty will be the “elimination” for the week.)

But if they say she’s eliminated, then what do they do Results Night? I guess they could keep eliminating and just do a Final 2 instead of 3 for the big finale. I can’t remember what they did when Sara Evans dropped out because of her nasty divorce scandal, but I think they just didn’t eliminate anybody that week and then carried their numbers over to the next one. In that case, Sara Evans was such a terrible dancer that it was kind of a relief she dropped out. In this case…. WAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!

Sorry. I lovelovelovelove Maks and I only tuned back in this season cause he came back. Now… I guess I’m out again. Bet they wish they didn’t eliminate two people the first week. If they bring back Ted McGinley OR whatsername, Kim KardASSian, they’d be with their own partners and not with Maks, I’m sure. Our only glimpses of Maks will be in pro numbers.
