I am feeling somewhat melancholy about the shows finale. I miss this show when it goes on hiatus. Last nights show was thick on the cheese but the performances of both guys made me glad to be a fan of the show.

What I am not looking forward to is the show’s aftermath. I learned after season two that what is a friendly competition can turn so ugly and it scars everyone who participates in the fanwars. It’s started already and it saddens me…….

I started the season defending Carly for her past, and I am glad that I did. Her rendition of Here You Come Again is perfection. Michael Johns seduced me on Dolly night. I will be looking forward to following them in the future, as I think they are both incredible. I will never forget the little engine that could, Syesha, she showed incredible tenacity as she clawed her way to the final girl standing. Brava senorita Mercado. Jason and Brooke excited with such grace and dignity that it made me look at their journey differently, such class acts. Chikeze was a revelation that night, I need not say more, we all remember. To bad his prior assiness soured people against him early on. He has something. The talent this year was incredible.

Anyway I was looking at some notes I kept on top twelve guys night (I guess that makes me a Pauler, lol). For DC I wrote, “he can sing!”. For DA I simply wrote “yeah”. It surprises me not that they are the final two standing.

Well on with the show. Trying to outdo itself with a overproduced mishmash of performances. I should just tune in for the final ten minutes. Oh, hell, who am I kidding. I am so damn addicted to this show.
