MJ’S Idol Pool - Week 5 Update

MJ’s Idol Pool participants: Don’t forget to make your picks this week. You have until 9 pm ET. I decided to act bold this week–I threw all 20 of my points on Chikezie. His performance last night–an old school R&B ballad–put him in the Bottom 3 in prior weeks. I’m thinking it’s finally the end for Chikezie. Don’t go by me though. I’m #23 in the poll. You might want to ask the front runners below on your picks. Remember, first prize is an iTunes gift card!

Congrats to the Top 5 from last week:

1 allietherese89
1 oscar90
3 JJRRutgers
4 SaraPowell
5 Lilolme

And the Top 5 overall leaders:

1 bugsy
2 oscar90
3 chipperwojo
4 JJRRutgers
4 maracaibo
4 WSULeifJ

Good luck tonight!

I put 10 in Chiezeke, 5 on Jason and 5 on Syesha. I really have no idea this week. Sigh.

I should go back and put more on Chikezie.. I pretty much suck at this game anyway.

I have all 20 on Chikezie too, but after losing all my points last week because Kristy did not get the boot, I’m reevaluating - okay overanalyzing. I kinda think the B3 will be as I posted on the blog - Kristy, Syesha and Chikezie - maybe I should spread my points around a bit. Gah…Decisions, decisions.

I only have 10 on Chickezie, 5 on Syesha and 5 on Ramiele. I still haven’t decided if that’s my final. I’m at 108 though, so what do I know?

  5. 5 s0x_prisoner Mar 26th, 2008 at 6:09 pm

Ahh I’m horrible at guessing the eliminated contestant, but I’m quite good at the bonus points ^^

I think I did 12 on Chikezie and then 8 on Ramiele, but I’ll probably change that.

Has anyone heard from Nigel? Is it a shocker?

I have most of my points divided b/n Chik and Syesha, with a couple on Rami.

I put 13 points on Chik and 7 point on Rami. I figure that the week I don’t put any points on Kristy Lee, she goes home but I can live with that result.

Heh, yeah. And if she does stay, I want to get some points while I’m at it- that’s how I make lemonade out of Kristy’s lemons! (arch, GAG me!)

Hmm, Nigel is not quite as talkative as he was last year is he. I enjoyed hearing him talk and rolling my eyes at what a butthead he was.

dang i put 20 on jacuzzi too!…finally, it must be his time!

my btm 3- jacuzzi, ramielle, & Carly
    btm 2- Ramielle & jacuzzi

I think Ramiele did a bad enough job last night to get her massive fanbase dialing ’til their fingers can’t bleed blood anymore, but I’m still throwing 5 points her way since she went first and that means she still has nothing but the Asian vote. Any Carrie fans are completely loathing on her right now, too.

And argh. Syesha sang well, technically, but it was generic and boring for me. I’m throwing 5 her way. The other 10 go to Chikezie for pulling the cheesy hand-in-the-damn-mosh-pit stunt.

Last week I was out of town, so I had to vote before I saw the show. Therefore I got no points last week. LOL This week, I too was thinking of putting all 20 on Chikezie to hopefully make up some ground. I’ve given up on giving points to Kristy - that’s just wishful thinking that she’d actually be eliminated.

    Bottom 3
    Ramiele
    Chikezie
    Jason-bye bye

Hi, pj! Worried about our favorite DreadHead? Let’s take a deep, cleansing breath and keep our fingers, toes, legs, and eyes crossed. I can’t believe Jason would be eliminated this early, even if he makes the bottom three.

I voted exclusively for Jason last night in Southern California, which is the Smithson time zone with some Archuleta/White overlap, and Jason’s line was super-busy. Back in ‘06, I would have been thrilled if Elliott’s line was ever this busy (including on top 4 night when Daughtry fans hopped aboard the E-Train).

Each season’s voting is different and it always takes Dial Idol awhile to adjust. With younger fans text-voting more each season, DI has no way to track those voting trends. Do kids ever use land lines these days?

I, too, have bet it all on Chikezie. Sending home Rami and Jason would just be too much of a shocker. Randy and Simon just said that Jason was one of the most popular contestants. Rami has a big fanbase too. I think they each will get one more chance to screw up before they get the boot. There’s no way Kristy is leaving; in fact, I think she will escape B3 for the first time in weeks. That leaves Syesha, who got a tongue-bath from the judges last night, and Chikezie, who did not. Thus my logic.

Gosh I’m doing HORRENDOUS in the pools.

This is totally why I don’t gamble. I’m not good at it. Thank goodness this isn’t real money or anything or I’d be in huge trouble.

I’ve messed around with mine a few times today, splitting points between Chikezie, Ramiele, and Kristy Lee Cook. EVEN though Kristy did well this week, I think she’s just one of those permanent fixtures in the bottom 3.

I’ve put MOST points on Chikezie, but put some on Ramiele too….but my gut wants me to go all or nothing, but I changed at the last minute LAST week and put my all or nothing on Kristy and look where that got me….way down on the totem pole.

Ah! I over analyze this far too much!

Has anyone heard from Nigel? Is it a shocker?

Ah yes! I was wondering the same thing this morning. I want some of Nigel’s “insight” that always has me anticipating since his “shockers” are usually nothing.

  18. 18 pj Mar 26th, 2008 at 8:36 pm

Hey Terrie! That’s so interesting because I got very few busy signals for Jason. Also, in Season 5, I got constant busy signals for whomever I voted and that changed in Season 6, when I hardly got any. I assumed they opened more phone lines to render DI useless. Who knows? It could also have something to do with geography. I’m in Chicago.

I’m feeling pretty confident for Jason, but you never know.

  19. 19 itsalleternal Mar 26th, 2008 at 10:29 pm

I put 7 each on Chikezie and Ramiele since I was on the fence, with a few more sprinkled around. I know I cannot win now since my overall pick is eliminated…

  20. 20 RollTide Mar 26th, 2008 at 10:39 pm

YES!! 22 points for me, which, sadly, increases my total points by around 50%. :embarrassed_ee: :lol_tb:

  21. 21 CarieB Mar 26th, 2008 at 11:59 pm

23 for me. Squee. I checked standings and I love how the poll site doesn’t want to “spoil” until the show has aired on the west coast, yet all you have to do is look at the link and you can see Chikezie is a goner. LOL. Bye Chik-ster. I will look so forward to seeing you on the tour.

I am still hanging on to my #17 ranking and I am right behind MJ, Cheese, Purple, Miss Tara and PJ. Excellent company to my way of thinking.
