You can get Elliott’s tour info on his My space. You’ll notice that a lot of sisters dig E.

You guys ever read The Stand by Stephen King? One of the characters, Larry Underwood was a singer and people couldn’t tell that he was white just from listening to him. Elliot reminds me of that character….great soulful voice.

I have to admit every time I see a post about the Upper Darby numbers, it makes me chuckle. The posts about it started early this morning and for some reason unbeknownst to me, they seem to be a big deal. I’d love to be enlightened! Where and what is Upper Darby? What numbers? I guess - as Barney Fife used to say… “It’s Big!”

steve-o… one of my good friends that just recently become acquainted with Elliott’s music was quite surprised to find out that he is white.

Hey Lu - great to catch you on when I am! Got my ticket for Elliott’s concert here on May 15th. SOOOO excited. I see from Yaminion’s site (new one) his schedule of appearances has him in Atlanta on May 11th (Cumulus) and on CNN Live at 10 am on May 15th. I gather the CNN is a video link on their website — but can’t nail down the other appearance. I have discovered that Cumulus (spelling) is the company that owns radio stations and the two that are in Atlanta are 99X (alternative rock station) and Q100 but neither of them list him in any of their concert or appearances. Are there any details on either of these two events available that you have heard about?

Where and what is Upper Darby? What numbers?

Being a PA native, I feel qualified to answer this question. Upper Darby is a small suburb of Philly (it is what they call a township in PA). It has a population of roughly a little over 80,000 I think, so not very big. And, although it is a lovely place that I’ve been through many many times, I have no idea what its significance might be in concert importance.

Other than getting on the highway into Philly, traffic in Upper Darby is two people trying to turn left at the same light. This is not some large metropolis. But again, it is a lovely little town. Like all of the small towns surrounding Philadelphia, it has many areas of big old stately houses and also some areas where the bloom is surely off the rose.

But of course, I still have no idea why the ticket sales at the concert would have any importance whatsoever. But, since Lu asked, I figured I’d answer :)

hey pamster! let me see what i can find out. i have tickets to see ELliott in Richmond on the 16th, alexandria on the 17th and possibly norfolk on the 20th… geesh.

  6. 256 Lu Apr 30th, 2007 at 8:48 pm

Thanks Spenser! At least SOMEBODY answered… I kept seeing it today and wondering why people were talking about it. I’m still wondering but at least I know where Upper Darby is now!

I just bought a gateway for 749 at best buy. Am loving the fact that I am sitting here watching DWTS and typing here…love this wireless stuff.

Oh - boy - that will be a fun week for you! I have general admission tickets so I will fight to get to the front and be as close as I can get! I hope I get to actually meet him somehow - that’s why I was wondering about the other two Atlanta mentions on his schedule. No info at all about either — his myspace is just as vague.

Any other Atlanta folks going to E’s concert on May 15th… Let me know and we can wave as we shoulder into the front row! I will be extra nice to mj-ers — might even pick yawl up from the floor after I knock yawl down. Bless your hearts.

A Daughtry/Nickelback tour is…interesting. But it makes perfect sense, so hey, go for it.

I just could not let this past..This is tour just seems like one long concert. I guess this will be like DAUGHTRY’s version of IDOL GIVES BACK… After all, he does owe his success to the band he is opening up for..

Sorry, but in the case of Season 6, less is better.

I don’t agree of course. If I did, I’d close the blog and find a new hobby.

Ahhh. But there is always next year! :-)

And this year has certainly had its discussable moments.

Daughtry and Nickelback tour is gonna be hot as hell. 2 multi-platinum rock bands, selling out 15,000 venues. SMASH!

  13. 263 ealbino Apr 30th, 2007 at 8:58 pm

I’m seeing Elliot on May 18 in NY..Can’t wait!

Hey Lu- I posted this youtube the other night - and am listening to it again. I love this version of Whiter Shade of Pale. I never heard the words so distinctly before. Elliott is so great. Here’s link again.

Gotta go watch Heroes…. check back later, perhaps. I would go see a Nickelback/Daughtry concert and would probably have both my sons and their wives tagging along.

  16. 266 Kat Apr 30th, 2007 at 9:07 pm

Haha…forgot all about Heroes! Thank God for the DVR. :-)

I don’t think anyone who snarks on her really deep down likes her….

WHEW, I can sleep well tonight now.

THANK YOU, Jersey! I’ve been waiting….

Daughtry and Nickleback? Man, if Nickleback shaves their heads, there’s gonna be a real problem here….

  21. 271 radname Apr 30th, 2007 at 9:59 pm

I’ll probably end up getting a dell because my dad can get them cheaper through work. We have dell as our home computer and we have had no problems with hit yet. It has a core 2-duo so the thing runs super fast too

What do you think of Wilber Valderrama being on Dancing With the Stars? I think he’d be GREAT.

  25. 275 BATTay Apr 30th, 2007 at 11:14 pm

I didn’t think Wilber was that much of a has been to be on that show at this point in his career.

Some spoilers from Jovi Talk thanks to Ryan.

The girl who runs Chris Richardson’s web site says these aren’t the songs, but it might be kind of fun to use them as the basis of speculation anyway:

I thought I would send this to you since someone on the boards there at the Dry
County community has some inside info on American Idol tomorrow night. Hear are
the songs the contestants will be singing along with some input.

Jordin - You Give Love A Bad Name -Jon told her to be careful not to push too
hard on her vocals… screechy in places

Lakisha - Always - Jon really liked the soul and passion in her voice. He said
it was a big accomplishment if someone can sell you on your own song and he
thinks lakisha could if she concentrated. Thinks she is psyching herself out
because its not in her comfort zone.

Blake - Wanted Dead Or Alive - Jon was not crazy about this at all. It was a
completely different arrangement with a different vibe and it reminded me of
when Queen and Ace young had that disagreement last year.My brother said there
could be a little mini media scandal over this one..

Chris - Never Say Goodbye - Jon liked it overall but told Chris to be careful
not to do runs just for the sake of doing runs.he writes his stuff straight
without a lot of vocal gymnastics and they seem out of place at times.

Melinda - In These Arms - Jons favorite. sassy the only song that didnt seem
awkward with a female singing it..

Phil- I’ll Be There For You - very strong powerful vocals. he thought Phils
range was perfect for that song.. very impressed

Wow. Interesting if true. Does Jon have a blog? Will he be defending Blake?

Sigh. Do peeps still think Ace and Brian May had a disagreement? I thought that was settled in Brian May’s blog.

ETA: How does one beatbox to Wanted Dead or Alive? Hmm.. grain of salt.

ETA2: There was another comment that Star picked up that suggested he might be doing Wanted.

One of the posters at IDF that has some connections to Chris said the list is wrong, and Blake’s friend also apparently said he’s not singing “Wanted Dead Or Alive.” (This from TWOP!)
