    Thanks for the update. I have to admit I laughed a little seeing Carrie’s “Last Name” show up on the Christian chart.

    Thanks Kristwn. I took a look at the mediabase charts and it looks magic rainbow finally is starting to lose some steam and is losing spins. Is it normal though for it to happen so fast? Pop I never expected to really do all that much and has been moving very slow there but last week AC had a 400 bullet and Hot AC it was around 350 . The tumble seems so fast so is this the norm? I’m really proud of how well it’s done regardless though.

    Nevermind.

    In case you are wondering, the Amy Adams that appears on the AC chart is NOT the Amy Adams that was on Season 3 of AI.

    If it’s losing spins - I think it may have to do with the holiday weekend - my local station, which normally plays TOML, was playing some sort of 500 greatest hits firecracker weekend.

    Also according to the placement above TOML is steady on Top 40, and moving up on AC and HAC.

    I looked at today’s Mediabase charts and I’ll say TOML’s on the verge of losing the bullet on Top 40. The 4th of July affected all the songs on the chart. The song has lost the bullet on AC (but that chart is so weird, that means nothing). The song is strongest on HAC and since most of the songs ahead of it are dropping, it should make some strong gains there. Once a song loses the bullet on Top 40, it starts heading down the chart pretty quickly.

    Jordin’s new single is starting to make some serious moves on Top 40. It’s her 3rd Top 40 hit in a row which is pretty impressive.

    My HotAC station had an “all ’80s weekend”, so I think it will be hard to judge the song’s performance until I few more days has passed.

    Behind the scenes, though, who knows? Maybe they are through promoting it. What happened to all those radio shows he had to cancel a few weeks back? Although isn’t Cook going to be on Ryan’s AT40 this weekend? That might give the song some bounce on both Pop and HotAC formats next week.

    I think it’s funny watching the label people try to get Carrie another crossover hit from her current CD. It seems like they’ve had a “let’s throw it on the wall and see what sticks” approach. Every song they’ve released seems to have made minimal chart impact on the Pop charts–they might finally have a keeper with “Last Name”, but I’m not too sure it’s gonna fly. Yeah, funny about it on the Christian chart. I think it was a rogue spin!

    ETA: Re: Carrie It may seem like every song has charted on Pop/AC, but don’t hold me to that comment. Thanks. ;-}

    The whole Carrie thing…grrrr. Just not a fan. I thought it was comical seeing that 4 of the top 25 most gifted CD’s on Amazon are Idols. 2 are Carrie’s. Not sure what impact an Amazon chart really shows. But still….is it nutty fans gifting for numbers??

    Nice to see Daughtry’s fifth single on the charts — “What About Now” went for adds July1. And looks like RCA finally relented and a Sevendust/Chris D. track — “The Past” — from Sevendust’s latest CD will be released as a single to rock radio at the end of the month.
