Who would the Idols most like to duet with? David Cook says Frank Sinatra, David Archuleta says Eva Cassidy, Syesha Mercado says Alicia Keys, Jason Castro says Brooke White! Ha Ha, Brooke White says, “I’m going to have to say Jason Castro now.”, Carly Smithson says Annie Lennox, Chikezie says John Legend, Ramiele Malubay says Mariah Carey, Kristy Lee Cook says Jason Aldean and Michael Johns says Annie Lennox.
Funniest Line: Question to David Archuleta, “Did you read the article in Newsweek about how Mormons win all the reality shows?” Archie deadpans, “Not this one.”
The contestants understand the dynamic between the voting public and Simon Cowell really well. They know that sharp criticism from Simon can get voters running to the phones to save them.
The contestants insist that the vocal coaches and producers don’t suggest songs. That’s not what I heard…
Michael Johns is obviously the class clown.
Jason Castro says assuming he smokes pot is “an ignorant assumption.” He says he’s laid back, because most of the time, he’s just woken up.
Larry gives David Cook his suspenders. David pretends to be thrilled.

I noticed something that made me think there might be tension between Syesha and KLC. Maybe it’s nothing. But, when LK read the email from Sarasota, Syesha said she would take that one since she’s from Sarasota. I couldn’t hear what was said, but KLC, who was right behind Syesha, put her hands up and sat back like she was trying to distance herself from Syesha. I don’t know if Syesha said something under her breath or if KLC whispered something, but KLC acted like, “Hey, go ahead”. I wonder how many will actually stay friends or just put up with each other until the end of the tour….
When they were talking about checking online MJ says “Ive noticed you’re very silent Carly..”
Carly occasionally chats with us on her fansite.. Shes amazing!
Cool. If you’re out there Carly I love ya. You have a great voice and hope you do great things.
As far as Larry King is concerned , is there anyone on this planet who is more clueless than he is ? Geesh , do your homework lizardboy.
Don’t know if you’ve seen these transcripts from the show.
Thanks to Castrocopia.com for posting them over there.

ETA: Sorry, having trouble making links work.
Oh yeah, and on Friday night there was that reaction when KLC said she was going to do the Lee Greenwood song on tour.
Hmm, I’ve found a couple errors in the LKL transcript.
LK asks where they are all from. Carly I believe said Dublin, Ireland, but they show her as saying “earth”. LOLOL, how could they make such a goof?
And they show David A replying that he’d like to sing with David Cassidy when he said Eve Cassidy.
GIRL POWER…
I loved the girls this season especially the SINGLE girls in the group. They represent their age group really really well - single, successful, sexy, fun and loaded with talents.
I think Syesha’s vocal range is amazing and her voice is real rich in texture that she can do any song with equal poise and power. And she has the ability to bring forth colorful personalities and create certain moods in her performances which is a credit too to her acting skills. YESSS to Syesha!
Kristy would make a great country singer and I know a lot of people will like her and her songs because she excels in one of two true American musical forms - country music - the other one being rock n roll. She also has that all American girl look which is a tremendous plus. YEEHAW to Kristy Lee!
Ramiele would make a great rhythm and blues singer and she’s got the spunk and the sass to go with it. What this girl lacks in vertical height, she sure makes up for it in energy and just pure pluckiness in taking on seasoned performers and standing tall (in her heels) as the rest of them. WOOHOO Ramiele!
Amanda, despite being called a one trick pony will make her own mark in an industry which is not as limited as some of us think. She clearly excels in a musical form that is quite different from the popular genres a lot of people have become too accustomed to. She is a rocker through and through and the fact that she will never compromise her rocker image is something that has earned a lot of people’s respect. GOOO Amanda!
And now the married ones who seem to have time and experience behind them and, because of which, have earned a slight advantage over their single counterparts. I’m talking about previous record deals and actual cd releases. That is not to say of course, they are as less talented than the less-experienced girls.
Carly, the resident belter, has an intense look that is well matched by her big brilliant vocals and a strong passion to see her dreams come true no matter what. It must be the fighting Irish in her or that she just believes persistence and hard work always pay off in the end. And the future seems to be looking real bright for this bright-eyed Irish girl.
Finally, Brooke who is just an old sweet soul that you cannot help but like and has a voice, though limited in range, that is unique and appeals to a set of senses other than your hearing. Brooke’s appeal lies in the fact that she is a great story teller in her songs and she tells each song’s story with enough amount of honesty. That, I think, is in itself a gift.
GIRL POWER……
KLC also had a record deal and a cd out before AI.
Good for her! And Pinoy Penoy …. thanks!
