More on the British Invasion

LisaB, blog reader, Brit, and newshound extraordinaire has been busy the past couple of days finding some pretty awesome and sometimes obscure British Invasion performances on You Tube.  She’s been posting them all weekend in daily chat, and I thought I’d share the best of them with you.

Enjoy!

I had a lot of fun watching/listening to some of these videos yesterday. I hope they pick well this week.

This is a cool theme, but I’m sure with these contestants they will pick the most boring songs possible….

I can picture Haley singing “When Two Become One” by the Spice Girls
Sanjaya “You Don’t Know What it’s Like To love somebody” by the BGs

Melinda “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me”

It will be another boring nice thanks to these contestants

I am looking forward to Peter Noone. Lulu I have heard of but am not really familiar with. I agree that this crop of contestants will find the most boring of available songs to put us to sleep.

Many thanks for taking the time to put this all in one place.

I think Jordin should do something by Bananarama. Then again, the Spice Girls tune suggested up above is spot on.

There will be no Spice Girls. It’s limited to the British Invasion songs in the 60’s. I’m hoping that they’ll get some help with their choices after the criticism they’ve gotten from the judges. I do think that there’s a good chance that the girls, other than Gina and Jordin, will do boring songs but you never know.

I wish I could get my YouTube to work properly!

Yesterday, PBS had a concert with guest singers from the 1960s British invasion! It was great! Many have lost their quality in their voices, but the Zombies were awesome!

Someone has to sing “Needles and Pins” by the Searchers. I have been singing this all day. It would be a great song for Jordin or Phil, although I am wondering if Phil shouldn’t go with an uptempo song this week?

NO? Damn. Then I don’t get this at all. Pfft. Gonna watch ‘Law and Order’ instead.
