What time does the e-mail say that dress rehearsal starts for this Wednesday’s show? It started early last week, so I was wondering what time this week’s starts at.

I sort of understand the word “tool”; however, I would appreciate if someone explains the comment, “Danny is a tool”. Thanks so much!

Just no. I want Adam to have a duet with someone who’s famous and with pedigree, not a no-name like Dilana.

Gokey is given far too much attention and he totally took away from that compliment Adam gave the girl, what an asshat.

Agree! Joking or not, Danny’s words were a “put down” to Adam at the expense of another person’s feelings (the fan). And from the look on Adam’s face–he recognized it for what it was! Just continues to confirm the nasty vibes I get from Danny since day 1.

Along the same lines, seems to me there was a slight condescending attitude towards Adam during Opry week…and Adam was a total class act throughout it all. He laughed off some of the less than flattering remarks about his clothing, musical interpretations and performance, and IMHO was the true gentleman of the evening!

By the way, am I the only one who has noticed that there is this marvelous big brother little sister love going on between Adam and Allison. They have seemed to make a real à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“bffà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  connection. He is holding her hand in many photos and she likes to put her arm through his. In this video her body language exudes that wonderful intimacy that two very dear friends haveà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦and he seems so protective of her. It reminds me of David A. and Brooke. Go Allison and Adam. May the sun shine on you both!

Snuffles: From the very beginning, I’ve noticed, too, a very sweet, friendly and protective relationship going on between Adam and the more vulnerable contestants. Check out the Stevie Wright interview–total big brother. I also noticed the same relationship with Alexis as well, you’ll find her tucked under one arm more than once. In fact, I remember fans pointing out photo’s of Paula doing the same thing (probably just her meds wearing off).

I find this so endearing and speaks volumes of Adam’s innate kindness, compassion and genuine respect for others. And what a relief it’s got to be for some of the young and naive—having a hollywood-wise “big brother/bff” swim with you in that shark pool .

Danny isn’t my favorite this year; I’m rooting for Kris. (Actually, I still love David . . . and David . . . more than anyone this year, actually.) But I don’t think that Danny is the devil’s child or anything either.

I viewed the coverage given by all four stations in the Detroit area, and what some of you are feeling about Danny seems to be true. The word that came to my mind is cocky. Both Anoop and Adam were friendly and down-to-earth. Also, the male contestants appeared without make-up.

The rumor I have heard is a Broadway themed show.

They did a movie soundtrack week in Season 3 (with Quentin Tarantino as a guest judge). There were lots of drippy ballads.

One of those ballads was Summertime by Fantasia. My favorite AI performance of all time …. until Adam showed up.

Tess – I too have noticed that *connection* between Allison and Adam (my dream finale right now). So cute after his results show version of Satisfaction, Allison rushes to him, mock-shoves him, saying “get out, get out.” They definitely seem to have clicked.

And to the comment about him being a “big brother” … when told he looked like a Jonas brother, he said, sure, he was their “evil big brother.” hah!

I don’t think Jennifer would be on during a soundtrack week. There is a very sketchy rumor circulating about a Top 8 r&b/hip-hop theme. Or they might just be having random Idols back regardless of the theme.

I would LOVE a Movie Week again! Also bring back “Big Band” like they did in Season 1.

I wondered this myself. I wonder just what Megan and Michael are missing by not being there. Must be a bummer for them…

Danny Gokey is the type of individual who cannot keep his mouth shut in any situation. He is like the little obnoxious kid on the playground (you know the sidekickà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’really dorkey guy featured on all the old TV shows) who just has to ruin every à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“niceà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  moment by interjecting some off the wall comment. Yup, that anology works for me to describe my feelings about Danny. He is the kid who is always relegated to the second banana spot so he is forever fixated on having the attention turned on him. That, to me, seems the reason he was so loose with all of the information about his wife. For the first time he was getting the spotlight he so much wanted. That is why he does the silly dance, and makes the absurd comments. The poor guy is really attention starved!

I think you may be onto something there. That’s the kind of vibe I’m getting from him, too. It seems like everything he does screams “Pay attention to meeeeeeeeee!”

Adam, on the other hand, is completely comfortable in his skin. Therefore, it is easy for him to turn his attention to other people, to say the right thing and behave the right way. I’ve been looking, but I haven’t seen him make a social misstep this whole AI season. He hasn’t said anything downgrading towards anyone, he hasn’t tried to grab the limelight during the group numbers, he is articulate to interviewers and puts them at ease. He is respectful to the judges, the mentors, and to Ryan. He shows love and affection to his fans. What a class act!

I agree, 2 weeks of the Beatles last season was too much, I hope they don’t do that with Motown, one week is enough for me.
I don’t remember a Movie Soundtrack week from any season i’ve watched (I could be wrong), that would be different, opens up a bunch of new song possibilities, great idea!

I have a feeling that Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and Joss Stone will all perform together. A medley of Motown songs would be great with those three. Since Ruben will also be on, the results show may be worth watching.

Exactly how I saw it. All of it. Adam compliments the girl, makes her feel special, and Danny essentially says, eh, you’re nothing special hun. Ugh. But, sadly, exactly what I expect given my impression of him so far. Total tool, all about him, putting on a show, thinks he’s funny and charming while not giving even a fleeting thought to another’s feelings. Blech. Blech. Blech.
