    Go Bo !!!!!

  2. 2 CarieB Oct 16th, 2007 at 1:17 pm

I forgot how much I like Bo’s voice. The song itself didn’t grab me, but I’ll give it another try later. Good for you, Bo!

This is truly Bo!! It is the Bo I have waited for!! I love the song and the video!! Wooohoo!!!

So let me get this right…

We finally found the real Bo (thank goodness because this is a much needed improvement from that awful song Clive made him sing) and we’ve lost Clay (because we will NEVER hear the end of “Broadway”…evah…sigh…)

O.K. sorry for this guys, but I just had to take a few minutes to laugh in remembering the pained look on Bo’s face when he had to sing that song (”The Real Thing”?) on AI. I swear it was singing that song that made him sick (just kidding.)

Does anyone know if Bo’s old bandmates from $ugarmoney worked with him on his new CD?

  6. 6 later Oct 16th, 2007 at 2:44 pm

Is anyone else having trouble with the links?? The link to Chris Sligh’s Myspace took me to something to do with Wikipedia and the link to Napster took me somewhere else too. Do go check out American Blood on Napster if you get a chance it is a wonderful song!!

I like the scream near the end of this video

  8. 8 mj Oct 16th, 2007 at 3:02 pm

I fixed the Sligh and Napster links. However, the video seems to be offline or something. Hopefully, Yahoo will fix that soon

I saw Spamalot with David Hyde Pierce a couple of years ago. It was awesome and so was he. I’m interested to see how the reviews of Clay’s performance are.

jokiebird - I also saw Spamalot with David Hyde Pierce a couple of years ago. It was great. He played the part of Robin, right? I went to look for my Playbill but couldn’t find it.

Thank you MJ! I wonder why the video is not available right now? It did come out early..maybe the made a mistake..hope not.

…has shortened her name to London

Isn’t this already trademarked, or registered, or something? LOL.

I’m imagining ardent Claymates, sitting next to — no, just occupying the same theatre space as — Monty Python aficiandos. Now that’s cognitive dissonance.

    ALOTBSOL.

Good day for idol fans, new video for Bo, Clay doing Spamalot, God’s in his heaven……

Seems as if the Witness video was a mistake by Yahoo to view it today. It is to be released tomorrow the 17th.
Flicker, the old $ugarminey bandmates are history. Bo has hitched a ride with all new and IMO much more talented band members.
Please check back tomorrow if anyone wants to see The Real Bo Bice in all his growly glory. :clap_tb:

Good for Clay. A few solid months in the NYC theater world will give him a much needed break from church elders who demand needless assurances about his sexuality.

But can anyone think of artists who have had sustained success on Broadway and the pop music charts? I can’t think of any at the moment…

  17. 17 Ladybug Oct 16th, 2007 at 5:39 pm

Ohh. Cool news all around. I will check out the Bo video when it becomes available. (Growly glory indeed! :happy_tb: ) I am SO happy to see he will have some promotion for his new CD.

And Clay in Spamalot. I am quite happy about this for him. Wish I could figure in my budget a trip to NYC to see him in it. Unfortunately, I have Chicago on my mind this spring with another musical that has me very excited.

Oh I don’t know. I can imagine Clay doing quite well in this Monty Python skit.

I knew it! If they ever do a “Frasier” with a younger cast, Clay should do David Hyde Pierce’s character in that, too.

I don’t doubt he will blow the roof off. I’ve never seen Spamalot and I intend to now.

What the hell is wrong with being a perfect Broadway personality? This is one of America’s unique genius creations in art. Clay Aiken? Whoa, this is the start of something very important.

    This, from an Elliott fan.

Thank you, Meme. I’m glad Bo ditched Coop and that other guy. They just weren’t very good.

    I think it’s terrific!

  22. 22 pj Oct 17th, 2007 at 12:37 am

It’s so good to see Bo being Bo. :) Yeah, the video is a little cheesy and the song is a bit derivative, but I have yet to hear any Idol releases that weren’t derivative. In fact, there are very few artists in music history who aren’t derivative. Back to Bo, I love him enjoying himself on that song. SO much more real than his last album. Go BO!

As for Clay on Broadway, good for him. I hate his sappy music, but maybe that’s because he hasn’t been allowed to do originals. Heh. I do recognize that he has a nice voice.

That said, I heart David Hyde Pierce and wonder if Clay will suffer by comparison. Does Clay have any acting experience? I certainly can’t see Clay as a young Niles! :blink_tb:

ETA: I’ve watched Bo’s video three times now, so I guess I must like it. ;-)

Some very mild snark on Clay from the NYT Theatre section.

Cowell must be pleased, given all of the recruiting he’s inadvertently done for Broadway shows.

He did say Clay would “make a fortune” on Broadway.

    We shall see.

And RSF, don’t make us beg.

Oh really?? Don’t you know about our irreverent sense of humor?…it’s our inside jokes that get us through the moronic commentary about an amazing talent (interesting that Mike Nichols also recognizes it)…Wait and see, we’re good company…no dissonance whatsoever…

Hey I loved Monthy Python for 30 years. Wow that seems so long, but they were on TV in the 70’s so it must be so. I’m looking forward to Clay’s Sir Robin!

I always thought Clay would fit in well with Broadway, so good luck to him.

Bo’s new song is pretty good. It’s great to see him finally in the groove with his own music.

Does Clay have any acting experience?

Yes he has. He was very involved in the theater since he was 13. He played:

    Apple Seller,in “Annie”
    Leather Apron (painter) in “1776″
    Confederate in “Shanendoah”
Ewart Dunlap in “The Music Man”
    Will Parker in ” Oklahoma”
Max in “The Best Little Christmas Pageant Ever”
Rolf Gruber in ” The Sound of Music

I’m not into Bo — the thrill is gone. Loved him on Idol because he was the anti-Idol rocker, but now? Not interested. And he needs a stylist. Sorry, but that long haired part down the middle is passe’.

Glad that Clay is working with Mike Nichols — that’s a huge! step up! to work w/ such a prestigious director.
