Bonus tracks? Bonus EP? Hmm, not nearly good enough.

I want a 2 CD album with bonus DVD.

CD 1 would feature completely new material, CD 2 would be a compilation of studio versions of his AI songs, and the DVD would feature behind-the-scenes “making of the album” video footage, as well as the complete album in DVD-audio format.

To appease the retailers, go ahead and toss in various bonus track offers specific to each vendor (iTunes, Amazon, Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Yahoo, HMV, Virgin, Napster, etc.) - even though Elliott Yamin fans were understandably frustrated trying to collect every bonus track released this way.

For such a compilation, I would willingly pay big bucks. For the record, I’m not a cougar or even of that gender - such is the power of The Magic Rainbow.

I got that he has knocked out 7 songs by meaning “written” and not recorded because he said “writing process.” It’s been pretty hectic for him with all the appearances he’s had to do and prep for the tour, promote the TOML, promote the tour, etc. I have no doubt that he’ll be writing more and have quite a list to choose from before he starts recording them. What’s the rush? I would rather he release his first album when he feels it’s perfect because I want to have “goosebumps” when I hear it to quote Neil Diamond. That first CD sets the standard for an artist and I want it to be a David Cook “classic” for years to come. Talk about pressure….The bar is set so high for David Cook.

Though I would love him to record a full “All I Really Need Is You” because he never did release a studio version I doubt he will reprise anything simply because he’s already done it. I want all new material but I’ll be happy if he includes All I Really Need is You.

I doubt he will release a single until after the tour because the tour will keep him in the public’s sights and after that’s done–put out a little teaser–by performing his new single live first and then making it available for sale–you know–throw us out a bone–a single–until the album get released.

When Cook performs a song live he does something to us. Then, we’ll rush to our computers and download it as soon as it’s available. Some of his studio versions such as Little Sparrow, Innocent, etc., were unbelievable. Frankly, all the songs he did on Idol that the judges felt didn’t have a beginning, middle, and an end wasn’t a commentary on the song or performance but “WE WANT MORE” because I would scream–just a another minute more–don’t stop!

It did seem strange that each week, they held back the most popular, best critically reviewed songs of Cook’s, and I’d been harboring the hope that they’d recorded more than one song each week and will release All I Really Need Is You, Baba O’Riley, and Your Face at some point. But it sounds like they only recorded one song each of those weeks….

I love the idea from Remusl…………I think we would all concur. I am going to quote that on his fan page about the whole 2 CD album and DVD thing. Great great great! Maybe somebody out there will listen.
