Holy Moly…and so it begins!Over 30 million and it’s not even top 24 yet!
Wow. So it grew every half hour? Has that ever happened at Hollywood week before?
Wow. Idol’s picking up some pace. I’m really glad.
These numbers sound higher than last year’s. hollywood week has been said to usually be a low point. Maybe the secret is that people are sick of the audition episodes and tuning in for the good singers. That would be great. they could cut the audition episodes and spend more time on Hollywood. Or increase the number of semi-finalists. Or cut them more slowly, one at a time once they get down to 8 apiece.
Maybe next year Nigel will give Hollywood Week the respect it deserves. He keeps saying they cut it down because the Hollywood episodes got lower ratings than the Audition ones. Well, back at you Nigel. I want 8 episodes of Hollywood next year and two episodes of auditions.
As if. Go Hollywood!
But the ratings weren’t bad! Why, they got larger each hour! It couldn’t be so! But it WAS ratings! Power!
And Nigel, with his stupid-butt glued to the chair, sat puzzling and puzzling: “How could it be so?” “It came with out trainwrecks! It came without gags!” “It came without group numbers, drama or hags!” And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore. Then Nigel thought of something he hadn’t before! “Maybe Hollywood,” he thought, “needn’t be a big bore.” “Maybe Hollywood..perhaps…can be a little bit more!”
It couldn’t be because the inclusion of instrument, could it? LOL. They decided to revamp the Hollywood week, because the old recipe didn’t bring the ratings. Basically they had nothing to lose. However, the change seemed to pay off. Personally, I didn’t care much for group sing and room cuts.

I loved last night’s show
Me too Steve-o-meter. I hope MJ blogs tonight’s show because I won’t be home but will check into my computer.
Amazing, Kirsten!

As for the ratings, I wonder how the super bowl commercials contributed to ratings. I know personally of several people who made a point to check out last night’s show because of what they saw in those commercials.
How about just plain curiosity for being a motive also. Some of the contestants created a mini scandle or people maybe curious to see if the top 24 leaked is correct .They just advoid the auditions all together .Speaking of news I can state ESPN PTI guy said these three standouts ,the Austrailian guy, Irish girl and David A. It is now up to see if the contestants can keep the motivation going by keeping the publics interest.
Kirsten, you are witty and hilarious. If you ever write a book, I will definitely buy it.
I think that this Hollywood Week episode was one of the best. I liked that they concentrated on the contestants instead of unnecessary drama. I Hope that they will keep it up.
