Nigel Lythgoe dropped by the View today to dish on American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance.
On what Sarah Palin wrote in her upcoming book about American Idol, Nigel cats back, “I guess she wrote that before her daughter showed her rather lack of dance talent on Dancing with the Stars“. Ooh. Touche!
Nigel tells the ladies that he originally left Idol to spend more time developing So You Think You Can Dance in other countries (Nice spin Nigel!). Now his schedule allows him to do both, so Nigel came back to Idol. Plus, with Simon gone, Idol needed a revamp.
Nigel insists he did not “fire” Ellen Degeneres or Kara DioGuardi. As far as he knows, neither was “fired”. (Ellen maybe not, Kara definitely. Again, nice spin Nigel!)
Nigel did not spill any additional detail about the changes to Season 10 he detailed to TV Guide. But he did bring along a clip of a 16 year old country singer from the Milwaukee auditions. Watch the interview after the jump.
