An ankle injury will keep So You Think You Can Dance Top 20 contestant, Noelle Marsh off the dance floor tonight
A source tells US magazine, that she “will not be competing tonight after suffering an ankle injury that could sideline her for the duration of the competition.”
Marsh, an 18-year-old contemporary dancer, will be given one week to try and recuperate, according to the network’s standards and practices laws. The source tells Us that production crews will prep the female dancer who gets eliminated this week to go on in her place should she not be able to recover.
Noelle’s partner, krumper Russell Ferguson will dance with choreographer Melanie LaPatin tonight, according to Trandew from SYTYCDism. Noelle injured her ankle during rehearsal, Melanie was a very last minute replacement.
Noelle, apparently, had a pre-existing injury that was re-injured. Production didn’t know about it, and they weren’t too happy about it…

I was wondering who Molle’s partner would be, since TPTB seem to think she’s one of the “chosen ones” already. Makes sense putting her with Nathan, they are both a lock on a top ten spot.
This is not shaping up to be a good year for SYTYCD.
Mia and Brian Friedman are both gone, right? Then poor Billy Bell is too ill to compete, and now this.
By the pairing you can see who the producers like. Legacy doing Dave Scott. Poor Jacob dancing with Ashleigh doing broadway. Has anyone ever noticed that everyone that does Broadway in the first few weeks gets eliminated. jacob deserves a better partner. Nathan and Mollee…Nooooooo. I predict Phillip and Channing are going to kill their routine as well as Vicktor and Bianca. But I’m ready to be pleasantly surprised by anyone. Bring it!!!
I wonder though if that’s intentional manipulation, or just a by-product of Tyce’s suckitude.
Well, that sucks for Russell tonight. No offense to Melanie whatsoever, because I think she’s fabulous. BUT, she’s old for a dancer. You get to a point where the body doesn’t move the same anymore. It’s a lot different than dancing with a limber, young girl.
I am really sad to hear this news about Noelle. She was one of the females I really couldn’t take my eyes off last night. She’s quite a beautiful dancer…I really hope she can recover.
I think Mollee will surprise people. She might be a little too bubbly and annoying, but I think her dancing will speak for itself and give her an edge.
oh, good. i didnt like Noelle…..probably due to her annoying fake friendship with Moelle. plus, she’ s a bit generic in the looks and personality department. for me, decent dancing + so so looks/personality = first one to leave

Oh, no, my favorite, Russell, has to dance with Melanie!! To this day the time she came out and subbed for somebody, can’t remember who it was with – maybe Dmitry?? and he had to do a sexy Latin number with Melanie – still makes me laugh my ass off!!! (In case anyone doesn’t know, Melanie is the choreographer’s red-haired “older” wife/dance partner/whatever – she’s great, but just doesn’t lend the same vibe as a young, hot, sexy chick).
Oooo… and Russell doing a foxtrot with anyone – yikes! I hope he can survive the first round!! So far he’s done surprisingly well with other genres, so I hope he makes it.
Ugh re Melanie. She replaced Jessi and danced with Pasha I think. Creeeepy. I like Russell too, but this is gonna be weird.
SpenserJ you and I are on the same page in regards to Tyce’s choreography. As far as Russel. I’m bummed, but Melanie will be just fine in the Foxtrot. Luckily it’s not a hot sexy dance. At least Russel is tall and very masculine. You guys think Mother and Son dancing. Foxtrot yes, rumba,nooooooo!
I think Russell is better off with Melanie myself. You know she won’t make a mistake. Noelle is one of the 5 bottom girls for me. I’d just as soon see her go tonight.
And for whatever reason the judges loved Ashleigh’s Broadway during Vegas so I suppose they think she’ll have somewhat of a chance keeping up with Jakob.
So happy to see Travis doing another piece.
I hate this whole no-voting thing. Couldn’t they just sack Brandon and Ashleigh since they were their 11th-place guy and girl? I could take or leave Ashleigh, but I like Brandon. It seems a little unfair to them both to be at the mercy of the same judges that initially cut them anyway.
Russell will be just fine, Melanie or no.
Ah – that makes me feel better. I read it so fast, I didn’t even notice that they were doing the Foxtrot. Okay, so it won’t look as icky as that dance she did with Pasha.
Oh my goodness! I cannot believe the ageist remarks here. Believe it or not women in their 40s (or 50s) can be sexy. LOL! As it turns out, Melanie was a good support system for Russell. I think she did just fine.
