Oh Noes! Ryan Seacrest Snubbed By Brangelina at the Golden Globes
I blew off watching the Golden Globes last night, so needless to say I did not watch the E! channel’s Red Carpet show hosted by Ryan Seacrest.
Apparently, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie ignored him when he approached them on the red carpet last night.
Awkward! But funny:
Ryan said on his radio show this morning, “I honestly don’t believe they’d know who I was if I walked over there.” Even though Brad Pitt appeared on Idol Gives Back just last year?
Here’s a theory: Ryan called Angelina “cold” and “unresponsive” on the air after she dissed him during the 2006 Golden Globes. Turned out her mother was on her deathbed at the time. Whoops.

Sigh. Ryan’s a weird thing to me. I love him on Idol- his professionalism, the way he hones in on the right thing to say after the judges’ critiques, how he generally is with the contestants… but Ryan on E!, and Ryan the entertainment journalist is someone I almost loathe. It’s embarrassing for me to see him on red carpets kissing up to celebs and asking inane questions. I’ve stopped watching him on E! because I enjoy AI much more when I convince myself of his awesomeness (which is easy when I only see him on AI, since he’s a great host).
This is the Ryan who exists on his radio show. He’s totally into the whole celeb thing – gossip, all of it.
I’ll bet it sorta bothered him because they ignored him. Heh.

thats prob the first time that has happened to him in quite a while. everyone needs a reality check every now and then tho, might be good for the guy.

Yeah, the Brad Pitt mic fiasco during IGB when stagemanager Debbie says, “I just wanted to have to touch him,” and gave the camera her clever-ass smirk — high.light. of. IGB. right. there. LOL Dude knows Ryan, no doubt.
Ryan brought it on himself. He should not have left his assigned spot on the stage to go down there where Brangelina were. For those red carpet events, different artists are assigned to be interviewed by certain interviewers. Apparently Ryan was not a person that they were assigned to let interview them. He was trying to break into some other interviewer’s time. Kinda glad that they did not let that happen.
Ryan is such a gossip and he has not been very nice when discussing them. That’s probably why they were not assigned to speak with him.
I love Ryan, but this sums up what happened in a nutshell. Sorry dude!
If only MTV gave him that same cold shoulder when he approached them about the show “Bromance”.
I thought they were incredibly rude. I like Ryan. He’s funny, his Red carpet questions are pretty dumb, but honestly, at least it is different than everyone else! Tom Cruise gave him an interview when he was truly walkng in the door. Tom was classy. Brad and Angie, not so much.
Wasn’t there smething about Brad not really talking to anyone at IGB? Not sure, but wasn’t there something about that?

I personally think it was Ryan who was rude. They were evidently on a schedule as there was a gentleman there directing them to where they were to go next. I like Ryan too but I’m sure he wanted to sneak in there and get an interview where one wasn’t planned but his plan failed. You don’t get your way all the time, even if your Ryan. I’m sure Bradelina doesn’t watch Idol or even E for that matter as they have 6 kids, 2 careers and multiple charities to keep them busy. It’s probably hard being Hollywood’s most beautiful and talented couple, but they seem up to the task. (mother nature was very kind to them). I hope Ryan learns from this and doesn’t pout. :longface_ee:

^Yep, I’ve kind of lost my respect for them (and patience with the Brangelina phenomenon) that I feel kind of bad for Ryan – even though I hate E!Ryan Seacrest
I think they were rude. They were rude the last time, too, at least she was. I didn”t know at the time that Angelina’s mother was dying, but even so, if you attend these things and you know people are interested in you, don’t appear cold and uninterested and completely full of yourself. I applaud the charity work that they do and their dedication to world issues, but it still bothers me that they flaunt their kind of sordid affair in front of the world. Maybe I am in the minority but I thought it was a hurtful, adulturous relationship at best to begin with and I still think they are in poor taste. Beautiful to be sure, but not cool. I like Ryan. As these people go who interview the celebrities, he is pretty nice, usually considerate, and seems to go out of his way to be pleasant. There is no real reason to snub him.
I don’t know, it looked from this video that it was pretty planned that Ryan would interview (or attempt to interview) Brad and that snobby-looking girl.
I agree, CarieB, that while I loved Kate Winslet before last night, it is only when she forgot that girl’s name that I realized we were kindred spirits.
Seriously, though. Who the **** does that couple think they are to snub Ryan Seacrest. Sure, he’s not some wannabe highbrow actor (because seriously, those two try, but they can’t come close to a lot of the talent out there), but he works like 15 jobs and he does all of them well. On top of that, he doesn’t take himself seriously, and that’s the quality I respect more.
If my Mom was on her death bed and Ryan made those comments about me, I’d be plenty upset! Now if he sent a note of apology to Angelina, then maybe she could have just waved to him.
I think Ryan does a great job on Idol. That’s his home turf.
It’s all speculation on what happened. I watched it and got a total different take on what happened but even what I thought is speculation.
Hollywood Stars when they go out to events like this are well aware the camera is on them and interviews/cameras in their face. If Angelina’s mother was on her death bed, why would she be out at an event? If you cannot take the heat stay out of the kitchen is what I was always taught.
Again here I go speculating again.

I remember that last year. Angelina was there to support Brad and her mother was very ill and she tried her best to be in good spirits. Ryan dismissed that as Angelina being cold and when it was brought up to his attention the next morning that her mother was in her death bed, Ryan shrugged that off and did not even apologize on air for it. So in that sense, good for Angelina, no I dont feel bad for Ryan that he got the shaft.
