Season 6 Idol, Phil Stacey, has a new album of Christian/Gospel music, Into the Light, just out today on Provident records. Check out his single, “You’re Not Shaken” on Phil’s MySpace.
Yay for Phil and his phans! The cd is finally here, although several have already enjoyed “You’re Not Shaken” when it was offered as a free download early on, as well as the preordered cd. Each individual track is also available for download from his official site, and there are other goodies available, . His tour schedule is up, which include the dates with Michael W. Smith and a cruise in 2010 with the group Phillips, Craig, and Dean. He also encourages his phans and others to leave their “Phil story” at his site, in celebration of the release date. So far, there have been quite a few good reviews. Many said that “You’re Not Shaken” has really touched them. I am one of them, as my family and I are dealing with difficult circumstances at the moment. Btw, the label is Reunion Records, which is part of Provident, which in turn is part of Sony, a great label. Go Phil!
Thanks for posting MJ – as a former shopaholic your site is a dream come true!
I enjoyed Phil on the show so much & am willing to give his cd a whirl. I like to buy the cd first & if I love it, I then load to itunes, so for me personally I like the option of Amazon. Works for me!
With all of the American idol contestants throughout the years, only a few of them have a voice that you can recognize immediately. Phil is one of them. I love, love, love Phil’s smoky cool voice.
Look forward to supporting both MJ and Phil by clicking on the link above.
I notice that Phil managed to get Old Glory on the CD. Heh.
I think Phil is Tyrone Wells’s doppelganger! Similar backstory, same vibe, and twin craniums! Check out Tyrone’s “More” and tell me you can’t imagine Phil singing it.
I am one of his very excited Philnatics! Phil’s first single, “You’re Not Shaken” was at #18 on Billboard last week and at #13 on the Christian radio broadcast called “20 the Countdown Magazine.” I don’t know of its standing yet this week. The song has already touched many, and for me, personally, “One,” which is about his grandfather, a church planter, is one of the most beautiful. “It’s Gotta Be Love” and “Glorious” are 2 others that I love. And because “Old Glory” has been such a favorite of many, he recorded the original version of the song with just the piano and his voice; the way he performs it live, and put it on the cd as a bonus track. That way we who love it can enjoy it. Check out his official site for more great stuff. So far, I am pleased with how Reunion Records is promoting him.
I wish Phil good luck and will download his single from the site tonight. If he has Michael W. Smith’s management behind him, he’s already ahead of the game. Those folks know what they’re doing.
Isn’t six comments on a Phil Stacey thread a new record here? Congrats to Mr. Stacey on the album and the new MJ’s commentary high water mark as well.
I guess people know something good when they see it. Like primeminister said, give a listen to the songs on his myspace. Better yet, buy the cd, . It is definitely one of those from an Idol contestant that I will treasure.
His head is just so’ ¦..so’ ¦.round.
And shiny.
Well, I would hate for it to be anything but, lol. I guess it shines like any other person’s bald head. But he’s got a good one on his shoulders, considering the great track record he has up to now.:-D

I can see him and Danny being tourmates. He’s actually got a pretty decent voice. Could definitely see this getting airplay on Christian radio.

For the record, I really like them both.

I think CCM fits much better than Country. Going to check out his myspace and give his songs a listen now.
I’m very excited about Phil’s new CD. I’ve heard some of the songs and it sounds great. I’m off to download it from iTunes using MJ’s link.
Go Phil!

“I want to pour oil over his head and rub it all over my body.” Seinfeld reference.
Phil’s head DOES remind me of Daughtry’s, except I like Phil’s “look” better. He has beautiful eyes and a warm smile.
Check out Phil on WOW 2010!
