What a super nice guy. He deserves all the success in the world.

Aw, you just have to love Phil. :] Seems like such a nice guy!

Good for Phil. I hope the CD is successful. I still have fond memories of Phil’s sing-out. That was a great one.

His CD sounds REALLY good from the snippets I’ve heard! I’m definitely buying his CD tomorrow.

Yes, Spenser, he went out in a “Blaze of Glory,” on AI. It’s too bad he didn’t hit his stride sooner in the season. But, I think he will be one of the success stories from season 6.

Oh, I know I am soooo alone on this, but I think dude is super sexy! Pretty smile, and so damn genial. Sigh. He had the best sing out evah. Blaze of Glory, indeed. I also love his first single. Good start Phil, good start.

I did think his “Blaze of Glory “song was ok not great compared to Daughtry version in my opinion.I also did not like him Chris S. or Mandisa when they sang that song at the event it it was not the song. It made me feel uncomfortable like sitting threw a borring church service. Yes I do listen to some religous music and I like Jerellyn Steel instead.

The single was fine for Phil he seems like a nice guy and hope he does well just not on the bandwagon.

He sang in Knoxville TN yesterday afternoon at the Franklin Graham Festival (Billy’s son)- he sang 2 Christian themed songs- if I remember right his dad is a minister and he grew up singing in church. I was thinking it was sad for him to come “all the way” from Nashville (3 hours by car) to sing just 2 songs- but to see him on the Today show the next morning is crazy. Maybe he flew out last night?

Pretty nice gig considering Alan Jackson’s wife gave a witness and promoted her book right after him, and then out comes Michael W Smith!

Best of luck to him- he will go far indeed, either Contemporary Christian or Country.

Phil is one of the most underrated singers on the show, and the best male voice of his season. Unfortunately the judges slammed him quite harshly during the show, but his singout is still one of my favourite performances of season 6.

This album actually has a sound which is already a positive sign. Good luck Phil!

I hope this CD does well. I’m so happy for Phil.

AI_J, I couldn’t agree more. I never understood the judges comments on Phil. Sooooo happy he is doing well. If his management has the money to put behind radio play, he’s gonna be big, because a lot of those songs are very radio-friendly.

Thanks, t2. I think the reason the judges (read: the producers) didn’t like Phil is because they thought he wouldn’t be as marketable as some of the other contestants. Whatever. As if they know what they’re talking about … 3 chart-busters in 6 seasons (one of which wasn’t even a finalist).

    TPTB suck.

Although I had no favs and hardly watched last season, I do recall thinking from the beginning that this guy had a great voice, and that he actually was very good looking. I still think he needs some hair. But yes, think he looks great! Hope he really makes it big.

You realize that they were singing at the Dove Awards, which is an awards show for Christian music, right?

I’m looking forward to Phil’s album. I really enjoyed him last season, and he seems like such a good guy.
