You know — I know how testy TPTB get when one of their “Chosen Ones” doesn’t win … and how that works out for the “one who wasn’t supposed to win”. But, I’m still hoping Michael Johns or Jason Castro ends up winning. I don’t dislike Huhchuletta, but Johns/Cook/Castro are just more interesting singers. IMO Johns has the best voice out of any of them.

So how did we sift through all of the rumor and innuendo? How much would Randy be privy to? I am almost at the point that I believe that he is maybe a bit passionate, but nowhere near as bad as the TMZ says. Seriously, if he was intimidating the other kids during David’s Star Search time, wouldn’t they be willing to talk about it? So far I have only heard their denials.

IGB starts on Sunday night? Does he mean they’re filming pieces that night?

I’m glad David Cook is starting to get some recognition during these (lame) judge predictions.

    CCJ FTW! :)

I totally agree. I was hoping that Michael would be in the finale with Cookie, but I don’t think that will happen. I guess TPTB really want a battle of the Davids in the end.

I am almost 99% sure it will get to that. Randy just follows orders from the producers, I remember one month ago he kept mentioning Michael and now he doesn’t. Hmmmm.

That’s OK. I think MJ will have a great career regardless.
I just bought MIchael’s I-Tunes recording “It’s All Wrong But It’s All Right”. It’s amazing..
Anyways.. May the best David win… But I will still be rooting for Michael. Heh.

I can see Michael in the final, or David C in the final, but not both of them. I think if Michael and David give equally good performances for the rest of the season, Michael will pass David, based on his more conventional good looks and the fact that he was so hyped to begin with. I think David’s music would be more marketable, but they would rather have Michael’s face on their winner’s wall. Hopefully they will both get signed as long as they make the top 4 or 5.

If TPTB want to sign David only under the condition that they get to foist a fake band upon him, I think he’ll conveniently finish 3rd or 4th and Michael will make the final for sure (as long as he picks the right songs).

This is one of the best articles I’ve read concerning AI’s (lack of) integrity:

    Re: Newsday:

When will we all just realize that “American Idol” isn’t about finding the best amateur singer? It’s about finding the person who can sell the most records for Sony/BMG, Simon Fuller and all the other license holders of this program?

I think Idol started out looking for a great singer who, hopefully, would sell lots of records. As the seasons progressed and the money started being the sole end result, it did become more and more about a Unit Seller being the winner.

No wonder they have embraced all the also-rans since the Unit Seller may likely be one of them instead of the actual winner.

Idol has now become a “singer franchise” emphasis on “franchise”.

ONe of the best things you’ve read? Seriously? You’re not kidding? That might have been the dumbest article i have ever read.

Look people, with anything that gets big, people speculate EVERYTHING. It’s human nature- curiosity. Would people really be surprised if very good singers who can’t make it in the real world decide, “Hey maybe i should try out for AI and see what happens?” Do you really think thats improbable?

It is amazing how the AI story spins between VFTW, Idol forums and this site, I sort of enjoy the marketing gimic and how well it has worked on the viewers, nice y’all.

Hs, yep that would be a dream duet for me. But then I love Fannie so I could envision her siging with Rube, Bo, and Taylor. She is combustible!
