Rodney Ho Interviews Michael Johns in Atlanta
Michael Johns performed in between sets at the Infinite Energy Slam, a charity tennis event at the Gwinnett Arena in Duluth, GA on Saturday night.
Rodney Ho of American Idol Buzz got a chance to speak with Michael, and he captured the interview on video. Watch it, after the jump.
Michael will be at the Avalon in Los Angeles performing with the Dan Band on December 20, and says he’s got a couple of “holiday shows” lined up for the 27th and 28th.
Michael tells Rodney that he’s got a few more songs to record for his upcoming album but that “it’s done.” Twenty songs were recorded for a 12-cut album. He describes the record as “all soul.” and “very stripped down.” He says it’ll be distributed “probably through Sony/ATV or Universal.”
The album drops in March, and the single in February.
After the first of the year, the Shaun White documentary he scored will be released on DVD after it debuts on ESPN, January 2. Michael is also set to perform at the Sundance Film Festival.

Thanks for posting MJ, this is such a great interview, choc-full-o Michael Johns album info. Rodney and his videographer (I believe it was his girlfriend!) did a really great job with this interview…right down to business asking details about the album.
I’m so glad Michael is keeping busy and that he has also finished recording…I was getting worried that with all his appearances he wouldn’t have time to get the recording done but luckily Michael seems to be the Energizer Bunny! February for the single and March for the album–can’t wait!

Rodney did well with those questions he asked, he needn’t have to worry about the lighting or the background.
