The deception was pre-meditated. That’s fine, but so is giving the guy some grief over it. He’s a big boy. He knew it would be coming.

How come VFTW is saying the purpose of this contest is for Allison and Kris to help save Adam. Do they really hate Adam that much? Whats their beef with people liking him?

yup, they hate him that much…they hate everything he sings, does, wears, says…they are completely insane (and ignore reality)…just don’t go over there

THANK you Revcat! I’m the one that mentioned the Dalai Lama appearing on Maui and actually thot that very same thing — except I couldn’t remember the other DL name!!!! And as I said in response, I wasn’t getting the reference cos the Dalai Lama didn’t even have a hit record!

I find it interesting how success is measured in this industry, song out less than one week and is considered a failure is amazing, I am starting to feel sorry for these artists, the pressure to succeed must be at time unbearable. They must truly love what they are doing when they decide to create music. I hope he does well enough to get making albums, I happen to love his voice no matter what he sings.

Yeah, it’s sad that that kind of thing can have an effect, but it can. It can be overcome, but it can be difficult. Something can make a record label money and produce multiple singles, but still be considered a failure. Conversely, something can lose money and be a success. As long as you’re doing what you love, and have people who love what you do it doesn’t really matter.

So far, as a fan, I’m just happy I actually like both Kris and Adam’s albums enough to want to buy them. That hasn’t been the case in the past.

Wut? People here seem to have only bought one copy, but upon hearing about this, were testing out in their own iPods and finding the same glitch. It’s not a question of buying multiple copies or of Adam’s session work demos being bought off or anything like that. This is part of glitches in iTunes for Adam since last Wednesday at least, maybe last Tuesday when it wasn’t added for the whole day. Who knows? other than that another day, more iTunes glitches. And that’s all that Adam fans were testing.

That being said, vis-a-vis Perez and his Tweet, yes, I do think that FYE has had disappointing sales thus far with iTunes (glitchy or not…I mean GROOVY it won’t even let people in the US purchase it, that’ll help sales) and no idea about Amazon or AO, but to assume they were use is well, you know what they say when you assume. So I think it’s best not to. So that being said, I while I personally am looking forward to a Kradison concert, I agree, it’s NOT what Adam needs right now in terms of promotion of his single and his solo work. I can see why Adam fans would be frustrated by the lack of promotion by RCA right now for Adam to support his single in advance of his AMA appearance, and so in the scheme of that, not be thrilled with this news. I agree that I would like to hear some much better stuff set up for Adam and stat! but taking it out on the messanger is stoopid and it sucks for the non-crazy fans if some cray-cray ones did that. Or people posing as cray-cray Adam fans, because those exist out there too. Oy, the interwebz is full of crazy people with access to keyboards.

Yes I know, not outside the Idol bubble, need to be their own artists, yadda, but I like all three artists and think they’re alll good performers and personally I would enjoy going to a concert with just the three of them, or them and whomever else. I missed the summer tour, darn it, and so if they’re near-ish by, like even on my coast or the Midwest, I’d so like to got see them.

As for bad fans Tweeting, annoying, but not unexpected. Eh, every fanbase has them and I yes, I wish that for my faves, they’re all shut up. Oh wells.

I’m still laughing at the idea that Ryan’s producer is “using” the Adam Lambert fanbase. Maybe that’s why I don’t understand what’s going on. No disrespect but KISS and Ryan can make songs hits. They’re pretty influential you know.

I think subpar sales for all three of the S8 singles (so far) is behind this concert. Currently they ALL need all the promo they can get.

Funny you say that ETR. Since experiencing “the summer of 05″ (season 5) first hand and coming out of it with my own cyberstalkers I know the ugly side of fandom. And I’m a nobody! I can’t imagine what someone who is viewed as an “insider” goes through.

It took me this long to dip my toe into the AI waters again but I made a strict rule that the only place I would read is MJ’s. No AI board, no VFTW, no fan boards, no nothing.

So, all of that bla bla bla just to say that I don’t have a clue what is being said about Adam or Kris anywhere else, but it doesn’t surprise me to read here posts telling people not to spam radio station or Tweet accounts.

I totally agree with you that it a small sub group of fans that do things to make us all look like nuts, but you said it in the nicest possible way and I did not.

Math is my favorite, but I would like to see prove that those songs were bought off by RCA… If RCA bought the songs from HI FI they won’t put the songs back in the market with that demo quality. They will lock them or even destroy the master demos so noboby will release these songs anywere. But few weeks ago these songs … Want/December/On With the Snow are showing up again on amazon.com under 2 different labels… so definitely RCA doesn’t care about HI FI .. or coldwater.. or.. whatever labels that own those songs now.

I am not going to worry and fret myself silly about his single or his album. Adam is incredibly talented. He drew large crowds on the AI tour, and reviewers loved him for the most part. That seemed to create a lot of hype- some people loved him and developed unrealistic over the top expectations for him, while others who were not fans ( not on this blog, but in the general population,) seemed to hate him even more because of all that hype – and sometimes now seem to be rooting for him to fail and fall flat on his face. Obviously, the reality for Adam, or any of these new artists, is that he will likely fall somewhere in the middle of those two extremes.

I am hopeful that Adam has been around long enough that he doesn’t buy into the OTT media/fan-warring hype at either end of the spectrum, and that he is able to keep centered in the middle of all of this extremism on both sides and just pay attention to making the best music that he can.

As he said before, the fact that people love what he does and hate what he does means that they are paying attention. If he stays true to who he is, as Cavallo advised, and continues to work hard and develop his vision and his talent, then he will have the best chance for longevity. Like Cavallo, I believe he will be able to pull that off.

The fact is, the cat is out of the bag. Many people inside and outside of the music industry have now heard his voice, love it, and recognize his talent and gifts.

Adam is in charge of moving his career along. He has plenty of drive, is a hard worker, a quick learner, and a true risk taker. Sometimes he will hit and sometimes he will miss, but he will keep working at moving himself along. After all, that is why he made the decision to go on AI. He realized some great opportunities from that experience and picked up some baggage with the decision as well, and he will figure out what to do from here on in and how to deal with it all.

I think that in five years, you will still know who Adam Lambert is. I think that I will still be a huge fan and will still be listening to his music. I love Adam’s single, by the way, but I am not going to drive myself crazy worrying about it, how it does, what the numbers are etc., although, of course, I will be glad if it does well.

I have decided I am just going to sit back and enjoy what he gives me, yes, over and over again, mainly feeling glad that he is, as he says, putting it out there for my entertainment.

BTW RCA sure spent a lot of money on Adam, seems like he got everything he asked for, or even hinted at or dreamed of while working on his CD. It’s thinking like that that’s hurting him. Sadao is not going to forget the death threats, and the crazies no matter how much you wish he would. Look at mj and the fire ant story. The damage is done. The best thing you can do for Adam is reverse this trend and show how not all his big fans are like that. And that doesn’t mean spamming Sadao’s Twitter with apologies.

I do too! Do you not think Ryan and other DJs around the country have heard from a handful of crazies from different fandoms? Have they written off popular, hot artists because of the emails or tweets of a few fans? I’m willing to bet their playlists would be awfully short if they only played the musical acts with fandoms that were 100% sane and rational.
EVERY artist has their crazy fans. I’m sure most people in the entertainment industry know this. Their decisions have more to do with how much money they can make off a musical act vs. their perceptions of the artist’s fans.
