With the pimpage David Cook is receiving, let David Cook win, for heavens sake. What a shame to have him win in such an underhanded manner thoughÃƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ nothing to be proud of, FO SHO. What a SHAME.

I would say that the pimpage of both the david’s recently is pretty equal. throughout the season, however, lil david has been way more pimped and has been called the one to beat by randy almost all season. cook was just middle of the pack until he started showing his musical versatility. A versatility that no one else came close to. final three show-randy pimped lil david twice. simon pimped cookie twice. pauler doesn’t count. pretty even to me.

i was listening to something justin g said tonight and it made sense. every year, they keep adding things for these guys to do. now they have the studio releases to squeeze in there too. they are constantly on the move. i guess last year they did the studio versions, i just wasn’t interested. but according to justin, they get busier every year. don’t know how true it is but it makes some sense.

I agree that Paula’s remarks were uncharacteristic.
I have heard her say that Simon whispers things in her ear for her to say.
He must have told her to say those two things because they sounded exactly like the things that Simon says.

They DO seem tired.
I don’t recall noticing that in previous years.

Is it just me, or does it seem strange that this week everyone talks about how tired the final 3 look and how it affected their performances? When just last week, Castro was ostracized and called a slacker, (and worse) for admitting he was exhausted and worn out?? Double standard or what?

Amen sista! The show was pretty flat for me what with no Jason to entertain and the lackluster energy of the final three. Why can’t the producers let these guys have time to pull together 1-2 quality songs instead of rushing through 3 so-so ones?? I’m enjoying my single of Mr Tambourine Man wayyyy better than the three performances last night.

CD’s are a weakening market these days with digital downloads, so you’ll have to wait for individual albums to be released in the fall.

(That also acts as an equalizer, since all of the finalists should have EP’s at least – and maybe even the semi-finalists?)

Just a reminder – last year right after the Finale Blake and Jordin both had EP compilations – like 5 songs each that you could download from Itunes. Maybe some of David Cook’s other songs like Baba O and Yo’ Face will be on that.

I didn’t realize there was no CD last year. Last year I wasn’t as engaged. Maybe as grayhound suggests, they’ll do an iTunes compilation – doesn’t have to be a CD at all, just a compilation for download.

They did the same thing last season. They seemed to make the strangest picks for the studio songs and they cut off their sales at the finale although I thought maybe they extended it by a few days. I doubt very much there will be a compilation cd and even if they did each of the top 12 would get one song.

I guess while watching I didn’t notice the bus warming up although did catch the 3rd place Randy put her in. Even a non-Syesha fan thinks that’s wrong. Now that I read what Mj had to say I have to agree that they were pulling all the stops for her to leave tonight.

iTunes downloads are only available up to the Finale – wonder why? Maybe(?) a compilation is what I’m thinking, even though it wasn’t done last year.

I wouldn’t mind a compilation of some type, but I’ll be willing to bet it won’t have the ones we want either!

The way Cookie came out from nowhere and started kicking butt despite others getting more hype reminds me so much of Kelly in season 1. The only thing I remembered about him once the semi finals started was he was the rocker with bad hair and terrible clothes. I miss MJ like crazy and I’m still pissed he left as early as he did, but he did fumble early and got his groove back too late. I don’t think he could have beat Cookie once Billie Jean and especially Always Be My Baby happened. ABMB, that was the night IMO he officially became the frontrunner.

I’m also very glad to know that I’m not alone in my hatred for I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing, as a song. I thought it was just me – after all, it seemed like everyone else liked it, it played on the radio, and everywhere else, non-stop for what seemed like forever. Always thought that I hated it because of a particular time and place that I was in at the time it was on the charts. Good to know it just sucks.

I’ve just listened to the ITunes, except for some melisma at the end where Dan Fogelberg never intended it, the recording of Longer is rather sweet. Not that he is old enough for either song, I actually like this better than I liked “So It Goes”, which requires a world-weary tenderness that Archie just doesn’t have.

Syesha’s song is what it is. Nice, but as always, would you recognize her on the radio?

Cook hasn’t found his inner Steve Tyler yet. I love this boy, but he needs to get over the top every so often.

I totally admire the way Cookie came out of nowhere and earned his frontrunner status. Going into the season, most had Michael Johns pegged as TCO, but he just didn’t live up to his hype. DCook stole his thunder, plain and simple…and Archie started coasting after “Imagine” so Cook snuck up on him too.

DCFTMFW.

And yes please, someone keep Dianne Warren away from Cookie’s debut album. Sigh, I hated the way they lifted her up as one of the greatest songwriters of all time post-”I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” last night. That was a shark-jumping moment right there.

David Cook rose from the bottom of the heap. He worked extremely hard to get where he is at the moment and deserves it flat out. He has had more moments this year than any year I can remember and I have watched every single year.

Way to Go DC! You deserve it and should feel darn proud of all you have accomplished!

I wouldn’t necessarily say bottom of the heap… I’d say more like a mid-packer. I expected him to make at least top 12 but I wasn’t sure how much further until he started breaking away from the pack and showing some musical personality. Anyway… I do agree that I can’t remember any other season where one contestant had as many “whoa, where did THAT come from” performances as he has this year. But, as discussed the other day, we all have our own criteria for “moments”.

But yeah. DCFTMFW!

With these three contestants, I expected high energy, good vibes songs. It was a disappointment. No magical moments for me. In the end, maybe it would be good for David Cook to win? I do like David A. but wonder if he can handle the pressures of a win.
