The Idols will be singing two songs from the Neil Diamond catalog tonight.
ETA: Just heard from Caffiend. Neil Diamond video precedes the contestant’s first performance. The judges judge both songs after the second performance.

- Jason Castro - “Forever in Blue Jeans” - When one of the fake judges told him he looked comfortable up there, Jason answered “I don’t know about that…”
- David Cook - “I’m Alive” - Both of David’s songs “totally rocked.”
- Brooke White - “I Am … I Said” at the piano - She is going to address forgetting her words tonight.
- David Archuleta - “Sweet Caroline” - Both of his songs were “fabulous”
- Syesha Mercado - “Hello Again” - She “looks like a star.”

I don’t think DC has ever had the #1 spot. Ever. The closest he’s come is #2. Hmmmmm…. I’m his fan and all, but fair’s fair.
Of course, Nigel does say that he likes to begin and end the show with a “bang”. He’ll have a neck brace by the time this is over.

Well, I’m glad that the “pimpee” is someone I like this year. But, I hate backlash. I don’t think going first is as harsh when the numbers are smaller. Jason should have been closer to the end.

Yeah, I always here inadequate stuff about him–even “I Don’t Wanna Cry” from Mariah week, which was AMAZZZZZZZZZING (though outdone by Cookie). So I’ll wait for the judges.
I agree. He should be going first this week, in the spirit of fairness, and in all honesty, it really irks me that he’s not.
Now, we’re just gonna have to deal with the “special treatment” shit for ANOTHER week.
