Season 7 Top 6 Spoilers!

PERFORMANCE ORDER

I just heard from Caffiend!

  • Syesha Mercado - “One Rock & Roll Too Many” from Starlight - She looked beautiful. Red dress, sat on the piano. She danced with Ricky Minor. There is a huge orchestra on stage.
  • Jason Castro - “Memory” from Cats - He is very obviously sick, and seems in a bad mood. He’s wearing a white suit. The consensus is that he wasn’t very good.
  • Brooke White - “You Must Love Me” from the film adaption of Evita - She is fantastic. “Blew me Away”. Really got what the song meant. Her dress is really ugly.
  • David Archuleta - “Think of Me” from Phantom of the Opera - Very good, as he always is. Dressed in a Khaki Jacket and sneakers.
  • Carly Smithson - “Jesus Christ Superstar” - “Tore the Place Apart”. Very high energy. She was wearing a sixties-style dress.
  • David Cook - “Music of the Night” from Phantom of the Opera - David has the pimp spot. He sounded “Wonderful” He’s wearing a suit jacket with a scarf flowing out of the back.

The last 3 spoilers came from TMZ.

Crap. Well…wait…what about Syesha? Has she ever had the pimp spot? I can’t recall if she had it in the Semi’s.

Syesha had it on Top 16 night, if I’m not wrong.

  2. 102 GwendolynD Apr 22nd, 2008 at 3:39 pm

Either Syesha or Carly should be near the end tonight, along with Archie. He was first last week. I’ll look for my boys at the beginning. :(

  3. 103 miskubelik Apr 22nd, 2008 at 3:44 pm

Seyesha had it for top 11- her Yesterday Performance. ( I believe that was top 11 anyways..)

  4. 104 Lisa Apr 22nd, 2008 at 3:46 pm

The same source on IDF who told DA’s song choice is saying that Syesha is going first tonight.

  5. 105 jersey Apr 22nd, 2008 at 3:48 pm

If that’s true, TPTB want Syesha gone.

  6. 106 GwendolynD Apr 22nd, 2008 at 3:54 pm

The same source on IDF who told DA’s song choice is saying that Syesha is going first tonight.

Uh oh. If that’s true, I agree with Jersey. That means JC & DC will probably be 2 and 3.

  7. 107 primeminister Apr 22nd, 2008 at 3:54 pm

If that’s true, I’m guessing the order will go down like this:

    Syesha
    Jason
    David C
    Brooke
    David A
    Carly

Are you all really really sure Jason is singing memory???? Where did you see that? thanks

  9. 109 primeminister Apr 22nd, 2008 at 4:03 pm

It’s in the comments section of the link that mj provided. Joan, the poster, hasn’t been wrong yet.

Also, a Jason insider on IDF has been dropping hints that it’s from the musical, Cats.

Don’t worry, sumidol. Jason will be fine tonight– I hope! :)

  10. 110 joydrop Apr 22nd, 2008 at 4:05 pm

No one can say that Jason’s song choice is predictable tonight.

I can’t wait to see what Cook is singing. I think he’ll do really well.

  11. 111 Kirsten Apr 22nd, 2008 at 4:12 pm

Seyesha had it for top 11- her Yesterday Performance. ( I believe that was top 11 anyways..)

Syesha was last on Top 16 night (Girls Top 8) and first on Top 12 night. I can’t remember what order she sang in on Top 11 night, but I know she wasn’t last. Amanda was first and Ramiele was last.

Everybody left in the competition has gone last at least once (David A has been last twice, but he’s gone the third longest without being last). Carly has been the longest without going last (Top 24) and Syesha has gone the next longest.

Jason and David C are the only two have never gone first. If neither goes first (and neither gets booted) this week, one of them will set the record for going the longest in the competition without ever having to sing first (current record is Top 5).

  12. 112 princessmela Apr 22nd, 2008 at 4:13 pm

I know David Cook and Jason will probably start the show off. :( I hope all my fellow dreadheads get out the vote! Cookies need to vote too.

I’m keeping a positive outlook for Jason. *thinking positive thoughts*

Cripes! I’m already upset. Don’t fuck with Memory!

An IDF poster reported that Jason’s session with ALW when “amazingly well” and “gave the producers chills.” Carly is also rumored by someone reliable to have a homerun on her hands.

If Jason is fantastic, and Carly is fantastic and Brooke is fantastic and David A finally steps outside his box a little bit, DC might be in a little trouble. (The complete silence about him beyond the damn “special jacket” is driving me crazy). Charge your phones Cooktards! We don’t want him on the seal with Syesha!

  15. 115 grayhound Apr 22nd, 2008 at 4:25 pm

cheese: Don’t worry! I will be power voting for DC - in spite of the special jacket if need be!

    DCFTW

Don’t worry, cheese. There’s enough room for everyone to be “fantastic.” Maybe we’ll just have a fantastic night, heh.

The problem with vague reports like that are they’re opinions and perecption, possibly coming from a bias viewpoint if the report comes from one of the contestants camps. The only person ALW seemed remotely excited about was Brooke and said some of the performances were dire. David Cook’s camp is always quiet so I’m not reading much into that. If anything a trip on the seal wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world because it will prevent the fanbase from being too complacent.

Syesha Mercado — “One Rock & Roll Too Many” from Starlight Express
David Cook — “Music of the Night” from Phantom of the Opera
Carly Smithson — “Jesus Christ Superstar
Brooke White — “You Must Love Me” from the film adaptation of “Evita”
Jason Castro — “Memory” from Cats. FYI, the official title is NOT “Memories.”
David Archuleta — “Think of Me” from Phantom of the Opera.

I just cut and copied from their site, I did not put in that FYI on Memory, lol.

  31. 131 primeminister Apr 22nd, 2008 at 6:03 pm

That should work well with Brooke’s limited range.

  32. 132 mj Apr 22nd, 2008 at 6:03 pm

TMZ think they are so cute. We still had half the spoilers before they did, so they can can the corrections.

  33. 133 joydrop Apr 22nd, 2008 at 6:15 pm

I’m impressed by Brooke’s choice, but Syesha and David A. are confusing me…

  34. 134 baxter Apr 22nd, 2008 at 6:29 pm

WHere’s StevenD….???? I need his expert opinion on these song choices??? My new BFF can’t leave me hanging tonight.

  35. 135 Lisa Apr 22nd, 2008 at 6:42 pm

Someone at IDF reporting Jason is second tonight.

  36. 136 StevenD Apr 22nd, 2008 at 6:54 pm

My thoughts after seeing finally what they are singing are that Syesha is in trouble because well she’s Syesha and everyone left is going to be fighting for their favorites.

Brooke picked a good song for her range since this was written for Madonna instead of one of the better sung Eva’s through I don’t know how a song telling the audience that they must love you is going to come across and it sounds like a sign off type of song.

David Archuleta’s choice leaves me with a puzzle on my face since its a woman’s song that is generally sung by a lyric soprano with a very high final note and makes me wonder if he’s thinking that the notes to the song don’t matter.

Jason Castro is think is going to have a “classic” moment for all the wrong reasons. Seriously I see this being played at partys along with my Ethel Merman disco album for years to come.

David has picked a Great song for him. It’s dark and a very sexual type of song that should appeal to the ladies and get them to vote for him my only concern is that this is a 5 minute song that might suffer with the cuts to it.

Carly I love my Carly and I think on paper this was a fantastic choice for her. It’s uptempo and has some amazing notes at the end we all know she can sing a ballad so an uptempo was a smart choice.

    I Can’t WAIT!!!!!!!! Go Carly!!!

  37. 137 baxter Apr 22nd, 2008 at 7:04 pm

YEAH….My new BFF StevenD has arrived!! :)

Thanks for your expert run down on tonights songs. Hey if DC wants to sing a sexually charged song to me for the full 5 mins….I got no problem with that!!

Oh yay….good luck to your snarly tonight…..( I can’t believe I just wrote that)

  38. 138 mj Apr 22nd, 2008 at 7:17 pm

I posted the spoilers out front…

  39. 139 joydrop Apr 22nd, 2008 at 7:27 pm

    Poor Jason. =(

And I love David C, but why does he always get the pimp spot? I guess we have a new producer’s favorite?

  40. 140 Caffiend Apr 22nd, 2008 at 7:48 pm

Hi, guys! Actually, Brooke is third and David A. is fourth. I also thought Jason wasn’t THAT bad, but just the weakest if the night. But that’s just rehearsal. Show could be very different. It often is.

Forgive me, I’m still new here… how do you get access to the rehearsals?

  43. 143 sumidol Apr 22nd, 2008 at 8:13 pm

Caffiend - you ALWAYS say that Jason is the weakest and he turns out to be way better than that?

  44. 144 Tony Apr 22nd, 2008 at 8:24 pm

Wow….Jason was a train wreck. Randy couldn’t have put it any better.

  45. 145 sumidol Apr 22nd, 2008 at 8:30 pm

I think I am going to be sick - ok just a tv show - Jason will be fine after more training and away from this show

  46. 146 chachi Apr 22nd, 2008 at 8:31 pm

I am not a Castrotard, he’s second or third for me, but I thought it was beautiful.

The “chills” part was in reference to his recording session. As you can see, his rehearsal did not go so well.

    My lips are sealed. :)
