This is our continuation of our preview of possible Season 9 contestants. Remember, that the Hollywood round doesn’t occur until January 9th this year. We don’t know how far any of these contestants might go. And since we never see some of the competition round contestants until the competition starts, we might never see some of these people.

Come on Get Higher

Nick Lynch has tried out for American Idol before and made it to Hollywood in Season 8. Anybody remember him? Maybe he didn’t get any air time last year which may not be a good thing (or they were hiding him for this year). Dude can handle “Open Arms” so Clive will probably like him. He participated in some kind of Idol-like bar contest recently, so there are a bunch of decent recordings of him singing (note to Nick: some good and a few not). A lot of those songs are AI standards.
IDK. I bet he wins every karaoke contest he’s in and he’d probably get some panties thrown at him during the tour. He managed to sound pretty current on recent hit song “Come on Get Higher” (not so much on “Viva la Vida”. I guess that song is harder to sing than I thought. Learn from Matt and don’t sing that on the show). But does he bring anything new to the table? Does he need to? He’s probably versatile enough to make it to the 5-8 range if he’s featured enough during the audition/Hollywood week. Although, it probably wouldn’t hurt for him to brush up on those interview skills. Every season needs a Nick-like contestant. Maybe this year will be his turn.
