Gosh, if people wait for marriage to have sex, no one would be having sex anymore (I'm still hoping to find the right man, and am trying to wait until then). This is ridiculous. Simon has a right to say he doesn't want kids, and Terri has a right to find another man that wants the traditional family. I don't understand people not wanting to get married, and thinking it is okay to have sex without marriage. Don't people fear God anymore?

I read once where Simon said he's not for marriage because of money. A divorce would cost him dearly and it's not a risk he wants to take. He is very materalistic (and rich) so it figures.

The thing is, she said that he told her at the beginning of their relationship that he did not want to get married and that he did not want to have children. Since he has always told her that and she hung in there for years, she is the one who needs to decide if she can live with things the way they are and will probably remain or if she should move on and find a guy who wants to marry her and wants to have children. It's not like Simon just told her after being together for 5 years. She was told from the start of the relationship and many times thereafter.

That was exactly my question, gingerly. I don't have children (by choice) so I'm probably the wrong one to ask, but still... He is not who I would pick for my babydaddy.

My great grandfather, Ronald McDonald (I kid you not), fathered 3 daughters past the age of 60 and lived to be 98. My only question is why anybody would want Simon to be the father of their children...

Good genes and luck! I can name examples of kids with older parents who were left orphans before they were teenagers.

True that, but the other side occurs as well. The kid whose young parents leave him an orphan and the grandparents have to raise him. Hence, age is not the only qualifier.....

I admire Simon for taking a stand. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not going to dive into parenthood for the hell of it, or because he à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“shouldà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ . Not all folks are meant to be parentsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

Agree with that as well. There is nothing quite so sad as an unwanted child, that happens to often imho. I know many people who have kids for the wrong reason, and it's always the kids who suffer, so big up to Simon for not being swayed.

I knew a guy who fathered a child in his late 60à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s and lived to see her graduate from college. Just saying.

Saula FTW!

But of course....they could adopt, lol.

Seriously though, I feel for Teri, I am sure she loves him, but if he was against having children when they hooked up then she knew what she was in for. Many women go into relationships hoping to change the guy, but it isn't always possible. If that is the only reason for the break up then I think it's short sighted on his part. If he is good to her an all other ways, she should count her blessings. That ain't to easy to find.

The Pollyanna in me hopes they work it out.

It's kinda sad about Simon and Teri. She obviously loves him. It's totally normal that she would want marriage and a baby, especially his, after 6 years in the relationship. On the other hand, I guess Simon made himself clear in the beginning regarding marriage and babies. They're in opposite corners of the issue and it seems a shame they can't work this out.
