Site Outage, Part III

Yeah, here we go again. I know.

I’m moving the site to a brand new host tonight. Everything is moving. At 12 am EDT, I’ll be pointing mjsbigblog.com to new nameservers. The change on my end is immediate. However, the change needs to propagate throughout the vast internets.

When you wake up tomorrow morning, or even earlier, your ISP should be able to find my site. If not, drop me a line at mjsbigblog@gmail.com. Let me know who your provider is and I’ll check it out. If there are problems, my host and I should be able to come up with a workaround. But, generally, I’m not expecting any problems.

This will be the last outage, though I promise. Once it’s done? Slashdot, Digg me. I won’t care! I’ll be ready for the hits! So refresh away come Monday. I’ll be able to take it!

    When you’re done with this, maybe you can work on a way of getting past the anti-blog filters on my work server. I needs my MJ fix weekdays 8-5, too. :help_tb:

    Good luck with everything, MJ! Hope the move goes well. I had to suffer all of yesterday at my friend’s house since their Internet was down and I couldn’t get through to here. :(

    Question (and I plead for y’all to ignore my ignorance here) — the url will be the same, right?

    I’m not even really in yet! I had to configure my ip in my hosts file to get here. People will be able to get here depending on their ISP.

    Luck with the move, MJ. Love reading your blog and have been reading it for quite a while. It is the most complete past and present Idol coverage I have been able to find anywhere. The tons of articles, the shows, everything…..it’s unreal that you are able to give us all that info with such speed and we appreciate it. :) Thanks and keep it up. Your blog is a button on My bookmark toolbar, so it’s always right there to be checked a bunch. Thanks and luck. :)

    I wish I could remember which season of Idol I found your blog, but it was before you changed it up a year (or two?) ago. You run a great ship, and have great regulars posting. Thanks for all you do!

    mj, I think my ISP at home is not letting me in. :( Is there any way that can be remedied? Please let me know if there is something I could/should do. Thanks. :)
