The new single from Jon Peter Lewis, “Break the Silence” drops next Tuesday, March 18. But you can get a sneak peek of the song on Jon’s newly designed MySpace page. Take a listen! The single features jangly guitars, an awesome hook and JPL’s sweet vocals.
It’s produced by Chris Garcia (Santana, Michelle Branch) and features drummer Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp, Indigo Girls) and guitarist Nick Lashley (Alanis Morissette, Natasha Bedingfield).
Regular blogsters already know that JPL is one of my very favorite Idol alumni. His debut CD, Stories From Hollywood, released November 2006 was over 2 years in the making, and worth the wait. Fans won’t have to wait as long for the sophomore effort, Break the Silence. It comes a mere 18 months later–due to drop in May.
As soon as the link to the new single is available, I’ll post it here. So check back…
ETA: Jon and his friends started a blog…

I knew you would have a link to the song. Thanks, mj. I like it. ;)
I love it! I hope it gets radio play. I really liked him on season three. Now if we could only get something from Judd.*
*is still suffering from his elimination
IGC, and I thought I was holding on to my Nick Pedro love a little longer than normal…
I really like this song and it’s got top 40 written all over it..in a good way…
It does have top 40 written all over it. I like it! I love his voice. :-)
Aww Nick! I think if he would have made it, then I would have been more interested last year. Judd had me at Mustang Sally. *sniffles*
The thing I like about JPL is that he is interesting. He knows what he wants and how he wants to do it.
Maybe I should learn the difference between “peak” and “peek” LOL.
nice, very nice
i dont think i saw his “season” but he has a sweeeeeet sweeet voice i love this song
I didn’t watch S3 until towards the end but I like it. You’re right - great hook. Sounds radio friendly as well. Thanks for sharing.
Great song.
Sounds like it could be on the radio. Cool.
was never a big fan of JPL on the show, but liking his sound now and did download several songs from his last cd. really really good song, hoping to hear it on the radio..
YAY!!! I love me some JPL.
Lots of kindred minds here tonight. I liked JPL and also was a Nick Pedro fan. I stopped voting after he left last year. This year I have started voting again and it is more fun when you do. Not completely sold on anyone yet however.
I’m not sure why I’m surprised, but I really like that song. Ok, I know why I’m surprised, because it’s rare for me to hear something that fits well with the music that I most listen to, as opposed to liking someone’s music just because I enjoyed them on the show. If that makes any sense at all!
Too bad mastering the art of capturing streaming music from Myspace still eludes me or I’d put that on my iPod.
I forgot to say JPL looks kinda hot in that pic. Hee. ;P
