The dances look about how I thought they would. I’m interested in the Russian thing. I’m sure it will be great.
I think, Mary and Dmitry dancing together is creepy and I could REALLY do without seeing Nigel dance.
On the up side, I’m VERY excited that WADE!!!! and Mia are choreographing and that we will be seeing dancers from previous seasons.
But still…NO DAN? WHAT THE HECK? I can’t believe that we only got to see him during top 20 week. Sigh.

I so called a traditional ballroom for Katee/Twitch, but I was expecting a latin number for Courtney/Josh (yanno, since he has that bum that looks so nice in tight pants, and all ;)). Close enough. :)
However, I am incredibly pissed that we are deprived YET AGAIN of the hotness that is Dan Karaty. Grrrrr. He BETTER be on Thursday’s show.

So, Twitch has to foxtrot and do the Trepak from the Nutcracker? Is someone trying to punish me? Is this some kind of a joke? I guess they couldn’t get a high quality hip hop choreographer for Twitch & Josh. I’m crying here that I’m not getting my hip hop dance off! And, no Dan! We’ve been robbed.
See, the thing about the Trepak is, it can come off as “Wow” or it can come off as “hmm, that was boring”. All depends on the skill of the dancer. And, this particular dance from the Nutcracker is typically danced by people with a ton of ballet training. So, Twitch is a dead man.

The music of course is instantly recognizable, even if you’ve never seen the Nutcracker. I’m just not so sure how well this will translate on TV. We know Josh can do split leeps, and he has other ballet technique, but I don’t think Twitch can hold his own here. I just think it’s kind of a waste when you have the two best hip hoppers this show has ever seen, you make them dance this.
Who were the two finalists that got sick and went to the hospital?

YESSSS Wade Robson is back! i love his choreography!
TPTB seriously dropped the ball on this. Why didn’t they have the two hip-hop guys do hip-hop, and the two contemporary girls do contemporary? That could have been amazing to see. I just hope the girls’ Broadway isn’t going to be like Heidi and Donyelle’s from S2. That was a hot mess.
Looking forward to Mary and Dmitri though - I’ve always wanted to see what Mary can do.
Searching high and low to find the last name of this Yuri choreographer fellow. Does anyone have a clue who he is?
Jive is a Latin ballroom dance. One does learn it when competing in Latin ballroom competitions. Strange, but true.
And Trepak is quite athletic depending on the choreography. I’d rather Josh and Twitch do this than be saddled with another Napoleon and Tabitha routine. I’m more annoyed about the girls being stuck with Broadway.
I’m guessing that this is what sent Twitch & Joshua to the hospital. So, if they were working that hard, maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised and it will be great. I’m hoping so!
I agree with you LB2 - I would have hated to see Twitch & Joshua wasted on lyrical hip hop to a light-weight pop/r&b tune.
I’m also going to venture a guess that Katie & Courtney are going to kill their Broadway. It’s certainly not the style I would have picked for them either - but I think with both of their performance skills - it just might work.
I am soooo excited, it is wednesday - yay. I must get a life soon but I sure do love these dancers. I am not even going to guess who will win they are all pretty terrific BUT my fav’s are in this order - Joshua-Courtney-Twitch-Katie - I cant wait to see the dancers from last year too.
I’m with you on that sumidol!! I’m always, always excited for Wednesday to come around to watch SYTYCD! My favorite is Joshua. The other three, I just can’t make up my mind between because they are all SO fabulous! Looking forward to an entertaining show tonight! Bring it on!
ok-I’m ready:) Now is good. Hopefully Josh and Twitch will be up for that dance after having been taken to the hospital. I’m hoping for a Josh, Twitch, or Courtney win. They are all so incredible. Josh has the intensity, Twitch has the personality, and Courtney is the most improved and most under rated. I think Courtney is amazing and she isn’t getting the feedback that she deserves. Katee is a great partner dancer but she isn’t very good on her own. I think you need to be able to do a great solo to win and hers are not great. she isn’t a ballroom dancer so there is no reason she can’t do a better solo. She has been given a zillion moves this season and she should be able to incorporate those into her solos. Chelsea’s last solo finally had those extra elements and Katee can do it too. Katee’s solo is the same every week. I think Courtney is the best soloist. She seems to put more into making her solos cohesive and she has the moves. Katee-not so much. I also like to watch their faces when the judges speak to them, especially when they are all on the stage (like when the judges spoke to the group). Courtney is always saying thank you and seems emotionally moved. Josh too. He seems like a humble dude to me. Sorry i’m rambling. Just odds and ends thoughts for the last competitive dance of the season. sob.

Alas, I shall not be able to watch the show live tonight, and I might need Sarah to text me with Twitch’s vote number (but I’m scared she may secretly send me Josh’s instead!). But, I’ll try and visit with you guys late.
I too love Courtney’s solos. And, speaking of solos, I find Twitch’s so creative and well thought out, that regardless of where he finishes tomorrow, I’d love to see him back next year as a hip hop choreographer.
Spense, the spoilers say that the Trepak was arguably the best dance of the night. That Twitch does a lot of the floor work and Josh does most of the leaps and jumps and stuff. It sounds really really difficult, but from the sounds of the spoilers, in the studio it was really impressive.
I will definitely send you Twitch’s number to vote, I promise. :) If the spoiler solo order is correct, he’ll be #2.
I didn’t realize that the Jive is a Latin ballroom. I mean, obviously I knew it was ballroom, but I was expecting something like a Salsa or something. Oh well. :)
