So You Think You Can Dance Top 20 Spoilers
The So You Think You Can Dance audition episodes have been endless. Not that the episodes have been longer, but having them doled out in hour long chunks once a week has made it difficult to stay interested. I’m ready for the live competition!
Finally, there’s light at the end of the tunnel. The Top 20 will be revealed next Wednesday. But, if you’re need to know things, like RIGHT NOW! SYTYCDism has compiled a list of dancers who are rumored to have made the Top 20. Click the jump if you want to know.
Next Monday, October 26, the Top 20 will be featured in a special “Get to Know You Top 20″ episode. A fantastic idea I wish Ken Warwick would borrow for Season 9. The Top 20 performs live on October 27, and the first couple is eliminated on October 28.
It looks like a pretty good lineup….

Notice there is only 9 guys. Who would the 10th one be? Hm. I’m kind of hoping for Gene Bersten. Or, if I could have taken somebody in the cut list.. I would have picked David Hovhannisyan for sure.
I really don’t like the Di Lello couple. I find them both so cheesy.

On the bright side, I guess she is a change of pace from the contemporary dancers that are dominating the girls!
all but THREE girls are contemporary. not that i mind, but didn’t nigel say it was the most diverse top 20 ever?

NATHAN! LEGACY! BILLY! RUSSELL! JAKOB! My Top 5 boys! So excited!!!
Nigel always says it is the most diverse season ever and then it isn’t! HOWEVER…first year w/ a krumper and a tap dancer, so that’s new.
I hardly know the girls, except for Mollee (really?!) and Bianca. I know, I know, but, still.. However, Natalie, Allison, Heidi, Anya, Sara, Chelsie, Courtney, Jessica, Jeanine, Janette, and Katee were all amazing, so I like a lot of the girls, too. I just don’t them remember them initially.
Yes a Krumper is new; But Season 1 had the female tapper so not new, but long overdue.
Yay for Billy, Russell, Nathan and Jakob.
It will be interesting to see what pairings they come up with. Three tappers is new, and I am sure they are trained in other dances. Only three ballroom dancers?
I don’t know why TPTB forget Sandra. We haven’t.
Looking at the schedule, I imagine both DWTS and SYTYCD will have lower ratings, not to mention the World Series coming up. Now, let’s see if this group is more exciting than Season 5 contestants.
Does anyone know why Paula VanOppen* has the asterix behind her name? Was she really cut or did she pull out?
Oh, this season will be loads more exciting than season 5!!! But yes, I’ll be interested to see the pairings b/c there are SO many contemporary girls. It’d be weird to pair a contemp with a contemp.. might be a bit challengin .
Paula was offered a movie role.. apparently she made the top 20 but turns it down. I think she made a bad move, to be honest.
She was apparently cast in the movie “Burlesque,” which stars Christina Aguilera and Cher (!) and also features Chelsea Traille, who was in season 4 of SYTYCD.
I hope the 10th guy is not Gene with the eyebrows. He seemed kinda…skanky or something.
I, too, don’t like the Latin ballroom couple. There seems too many contemporary girls this season. Hmmm.
Maybe Paula VanOppen didn’t make such a bad move. She did get some exposure from appearing on SYTYCD, and she must be a terrific dancer to get a part in this movie. Just the cast makes me want to see it. Also, if she impresses certain people, she could find herself as a back-up dancer in other ventures.
As a contestant, nothing is guaranteed.
Ugg, Mandy and Tyce are not worthy replacements for Mia. Le sigh. I’m still sad. Save us Obi Wade Robson…
I think I’m most excited about the tappers. I always have had a soft spot for tap, though contemporary and jazz are more my thing. I wonder if they’ll get RyanK to choreograph a tap piece? His Vegas booting seemed a tad bit scripted…
MJ, should Kevin “K-Bez” Hunte (hip hop) be added to your list?
I hope Pauline Mata (hip hop/contemporary) ankle is healed. Now, they wouldn’t pair her up with another Hip Hop dancer, would they? Same thing with Bianca Revels; they wouldn’t put her with a Tap guy, right?
I am also excited to see how the tap dancers do in other areas of dance.

For guys, I am rooting for Jacob and Billy Bell. What a pity that Paula quits. She is the only girl I care about currently.
Wow! I think it’s a great top 20!!! Mollee is extremely immature however and sloppy (I have seen her perform in person and she needs some technique!) I have seen some rude comments about Kathryn McCormick but I have seen her in person and she is the most grounded and well rounded dancer I have ever seen! I heard from a girl that danced with her and they said she has the kindest heart and is sick talented!!! She apparently moved to LA right after graduating High school because she got a principle dance part in the movie FAME!!! She moved on her own from her family with nothing to chase her dream, wish I could do that! I know she looks like the cry baby but think about what they put these kids through during VEGAS! most of these dancers either are older, have one of their friends or family with them. From what I have heard and seen of Kathryn I only wish I could be the as open and truly real as her! I think she should be a top contender because she is real and not afraid to show it! so I think all of us bloggers should hear her story before judging! I think she might just suprise us!!! I hope so! Phillip the tapper is also good at more than just tap! Elenor is so cute and Quirky I think she might suprise us too! jakob carr has amazing technique but I would like to see more personality before judging! Billy sick and Legacy is sick at HIP HOP I hope he can do more!!!!
