Peg's Indianapolis, IN Recap

Hubby and I arrived around 5:45 to the fairgrounds.  10 years of living in Indy and this is our first visit to the State Fair.  We happened to walk in with someone who used to work at the grounds when he was a kid.  When I asked about the buses, he was able to point me in the right direction.  He said not to worry about the M&G tickets, just act like you know where you’re going.  I thought this is our lucky day.  Get to see TAYLOR in person. Whooooo.  We get up to the gates and see the buses right there in front of us.  There weren’t too many people there yet.  I asked if Taylor has been out yet and they said we just missed them. Damn.  He and Elliott were playing catch with the football (Taylor’s shirt was on.  I had to ask).  They signed autographs, took pictures, etc.  I was soooo upset.  I asked to see a picture of Taylor and someone showed me one.  Cute as ever.  A lot of people commented that he looks younger and that he did lose weight.  We stayed around for a while staring at buses and no one was coming out.  I started to feel weird, kinda like a stalker.  We joked that they’re probably in the buses looking and laughing at all of us crazed fans.  Hubby and I went to grab some food and find our seats.  Our seats were great.  15th row, seats 3 & 4.  We were only about 25 yards from the stage.  No need for the binos that I brought with.   One thing I didn’t realize is that this was the first outdoor concert that they have done.  A few of them commented on how was nice it was to be outside.  I think being outside is the reason that they all sounded so good.  Ok, on with the show.

The sets were all the same as the other recaps so I’ll try and make this somewhat short. As you know Mandisa was a no-show.  Too bad, I always like her.

Ace – He really is a good looking guy.  Wore his brown beanie.  Harder to breathe was really good.  Father figure was good, stripping of the jacket and all.  He knew how to work the young girls in the crowd.  Overall, fun to watch. Threw out the beanie.

Lisa – IMO she got the boot way to early.  Very good piano player/singer.  Both Elton songs were really good, especially Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me.  Also did well on Someone Saved My Life Tonight.

Lisa & Paris – Waterfalls, pretty good.

Paris – This girl can move.  Really got the crowd going.  Still amazes me that that voice comes out of her.

Bucky – Just a charming guy.  He sounded really good on Superstition.  The crowd sang along with Drift Away.  He just looked happy to be on the stage.  Gotta luv Bucky.

Bucky/Kellie – Cute duet.  They played up to each other really well.  Looked like they were having fun.

Kellie – You can’t help but love this girl’s charm.  I don’t think her vocals were all that great though.  Probably still not up to par yet. Overall, still fun to watch.  Hubby liked the scenery, if you catch my drift.

Intermission – A little long IMO.

Chris – I have to admit that I wasn’t the biggest fan of Chris’ on the show.  Liked him early on better.  But, I will admit seeing him live did indeed impress me.  As they say, give credit where credit is due.  Even my husband said he was really good and he is far from being a rocker.  Whole Lotta Love, flames and all, was great.  The crowd loved Chris.  Glow sticks came out for this one.  Wanted Dead or Alive was also good.  Renegade, for me was OK.  Never liked his version on AI either.  Over all, the crowd loved him.

Chris & E - Great.  Enuf said

E – How can you not love him.  The crowd went crazy when he came out in a Peyton Manning jersey.  (Colts QB for those who don’t know).  Moody was really good, but Trouble was what got the crowd going.  Great vocals as usual.  (Now I sound like a judge).

Patience – Awesome.  Ace impressed me more than anyone.  He sounded so good on this, I was blown away.

Kat – Ok.  I’m not a Kat fan, and I’ll try and not pick on her too much.  But this girl brings it on herself.  She seriously needs some stage to audience training.  If there’s any such thing.  Black Horse and the Cherry Tree was just OK.  I loved it on the show.  Somewhere Over the Rainbow was OK too.  I think she was holding back.  My husband likes Kat and even commented that she has become such a DIVA and that it’s apparent that she’d rather be somewhere else than here.  Maybe somewhere over the rainbow… who knows.  I was shocked he even said this.  As for the “Country” statement, WHATEVER.

Now for what I’ve been waiting for for 6 months.

And the crowd goes WILD!!  As soon as Kat left, everyone started shouting TAYLOR, TAYLOR, TAYLOR.  You could hear him, but you can’t see him.  A Police Patrol car drove by with the lights flashing and out jumps TAYLOR.  The real PATROLMAN.  Then he runs down the isle and onto the stage.  He’s so quick, one blink and you miss him.  After JHR he gave us a big smile and said hey to Indy, grabbed the guitar and slammed out a great HN.  He was in great form.  Oh and he was wearing a purple shirt, black blazer with some kind of print and brown boots.  And he was all gelled up (Ana). Looking mighty fine.  LFTC was great.  He was all over the place.  Got the airplane and everything.  DIMYP was dedicated to the troops.  Loved the montage of him.  He left the stage and the crowd was going nuts.  Came back w/TI2TS this time with a brown T-shirt with a picture on it, but I’m not sure what the picture was.  He was wild as ever.  Tambourine beating on his chest, the harp was crazy.  He did the harp/amp thing.  He also was on his knees belting on the harp.  Running back and forth all over the stage.   Great experience.

We are the Champions – Everyone but Taylor and Kat.  It was good.

Living in America – Everyone on stage.  Looked like they were having fun.  Taylor mentioned everyone’s names.  They left and then everyone came out but Taylor that’s when one of them introduced him as he came out.  The whole crowd again went wild.  Elliott threw out his sweaty towel and Chris threw his pics.

As for the crowd, it was a good mix of kids, tweenies and older people.  Lot’s of moms with little girls.  I thought the 2 girls in front of me were going to be screaming loud, but they were pretty quiet and just danced around.  I ended up being the loudest screamer in our area.  Especially when Taylor came out.  Hubby was not the least surprised about that.  This concert was way better than I ever hoped for.   I’m so glad that we were able to see it.

Applause-O-Meter –In order - Taylor, Chris, Elliott, Ace

Now looking forward to Taylor’s solo tour.  Sigh.
