Peg's Indianapolis, IN Recap
Hubby and I arrived around 5:45 to the fairgrounds. Â 10 years of living in Indy and this is our first visit to the State Fair. Â We happened to walk in with someone who used to work at the grounds when he was a kid. Â When I asked about the buses, he was able to point me in the right direction. Â He said not to worry about the M&G tickets, just act like you know where you’re going. Â I thought this is our lucky day. Â Get to see TAYLOR in person. Whooooo. Â We get up to the gates and see the buses right there in front of us. Â There weren’t too many people there yet. Â I asked if Taylor has been out yet and they said we just missed them. Damn. Â He and Elliott were playing catch with the football (Taylor’s shirt was on. Â I had to ask). Â They signed autographs, took pictures, etc. Â I was soooo upset. Â I asked to see a picture of Taylor and someone showed me one. Â Cute as ever. Â A lot of people commented that he looks younger and that he did lose weight. Â We stayed around for a while staring at buses and no one was coming out. Â I started to feel weird, kinda like a stalker. Â We joked that they’re probably in the buses looking and laughing at all of us crazed fans. Â Hubby and I went to grab some food and find our seats. Â Our seats were great. Â 15th row, seats 3 & 4. Â We were only about 25 yards from the stage. Â No need for the binos that I brought with. Â One thing I didn’t realize is that this was the first outdoor concert that they have done. Â A few of them commented on how was nice it was to be outside. Â I think being outside is the reason that they all sounded so good. Â Ok, on with the show. The sets were all the same as the other recaps so I’ll try and make this somewhat short. As you know Mandisa was a no-show. Â Too bad, I always like her.
Ace – He really is a good looking guy. Â Wore his brown beanie. Â Harder to breathe was really good. Â Father figure was good, stripping of the jacket and all. Â He knew how to work the young girls in the crowd. Â Overall, fun to watch. Threw out the beanie.
Lisa – IMO she got the boot way to early. Â Very good piano player/singer. Â Both Elton songs were really good, especially Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me. Â Also did well on Someone Saved My Life Tonight.
Lisa & Paris – Waterfalls, pretty good.
Paris – This girl can move. Â Really got the crowd going. Â Still amazes me that that voice comes out of her.
Bucky – Just a charming guy. Â He sounded really good on Superstition. Â The crowd sang along with Drift Away. Â He just looked happy to be on the stage. Â Gotta luv Bucky.
Bucky/Kellie – Cute duet. Â They played up to each other really well. Â Looked like they were having fun.
Kellie – You can’t help but love this girl’s charm. Â I don’t think her vocals were all that great though. Â Probably still not up to par yet. Overall, still fun to watch. Â Hubby liked the scenery, if you catch my drift.
Intermission – A little long IMO.
Chris – I have to admit that I wasn’t the biggest fan of Chris’ on the show. Â Liked him early on better. Â But, I will admit seeing him live did indeed impress me. Â As they say, give credit where credit is due. Â Even my husband said he was really good and he is far from being a rocker. Â Whole Lotta Love, flames and all, was great. Â The crowd loved Chris. Â Glow sticks came out for this one. Â Wanted Dead or Alive was also good. Â Renegade, for me was OK. Â Never liked his version on AI either. Â Over all, the crowd loved him.
Chris & E - Great. Â Enuf said
E – How can you not love him. Â The crowd went crazy when he came out in a Peyton Manning jersey. Â (Colts QB for those who don’t know). Â Moody was really good, but Trouble was what got the crowd going. Â Great vocals as usual. Â (Now I sound like a judge).
Patience – Awesome. Â Ace impressed me more than anyone. Â He sounded so good on this, I was blown away.
Kat – Ok. Â I’m not a Kat fan, and I’ll try and not pick on her too much. Â But this girl brings it on herself. Â She seriously needs some stage to audience training. Â If there’s any such thing. Â Black Horse and the Cherry Tree was just OK. Â I loved it on the show. Â Somewhere Over the Rainbow was OK too. Â I think she was holding back. Â My husband likes Kat and even commented that she has become such a DIVA and that it’s apparent that she’d rather be somewhere else than here. Â Maybe somewhere over the rainbow… who knows. Â I was shocked he even said this. Â As for the “Country” statement, WHATEVER.
Now for what I’ve been waiting for for 6 months.
And the crowd goes WILD!! Â As soon as Kat left, everyone started shouting TAYLOR, TAYLOR, TAYLOR. Â You could hear him, but you can’t see him. Â A Police Patrol car drove by with the lights flashing and out jumps TAYLOR. Â The real PATROLMAN. Â Then he runs down the isle and onto the stage. Â He’s so quick, one blink and you miss him. Â After JHR he gave us a big smile and said hey to Indy, grabbed the guitar and slammed out a great HN. Â He was in great form. Â Oh and he was wearing a purple shirt, black blazer with some kind of print and brown boots. Â And he was all gelled up (Ana). Looking mighty fine. Â LFTC was great. Â He was all over the place. Â Got the airplane and everything. Â DIMYP was dedicated to the troops. Â Loved the montage of him. Â He left the stage and the crowd was going nuts. Â Came back w/TI2TS this time with a brown T-shirt with a picture on it, but I’m not sure what the picture was. Â He was wild as ever. Â Tambourine beating on his chest, the harp was crazy. Â He did the harp/amp thing. Â He also was on his knees belting on the harp. Â Running back and forth all over the stage. Â Great experience.
We are the Champions – Everyone but Taylor and Kat. Â It was good.
Living in America – Everyone on stage. Â Looked like they were having fun. Â Taylor mentioned everyone’s names. Â They left and then everyone came out but Taylor that’s when one of them introduced him as he came out. Â The whole crowd again went wild. Â Elliott threw out his sweaty towel and Chris threw his pics.
As for the crowd, it was a good mix of kids, tweenies and older people. Â Lot’s of moms with little girls. Â I thought the 2 girls in front of me were going to be screaming loud, but they were pretty quiet and just danced around. Â I ended up being the loudest screamer in our area. Â Especially when Taylor came out. Â Hubby was not the least surprised about that. Â This concert was way better than I ever hoped for. Â I’m so glad that we were able to see it.
Applause-O-Meter –In order - Taylor, Chris, Elliott, Ace
Now looking forward to Taylor’s solo tour. Â Sigh.
