BTW, are there gradations of “flopping”?

Semi-flopping, quasi-flopping, partially-flopping, almost flopping, kinda flopping, totally flopping, just plain flopping? A flop is a flop is a flop

    What are you suggesting? ~~~

  2. 252 juliegr Feb 4th, 2007 at 9:36 pm

Terry — I can relate to your comment about typing in the dark. Remember most people can figure out the gist of what you’re saying even with bad spelling.

    No worries~~ :)

Could it be that no one wants to talk about Kat because all signs point to her not totally flopping??

Could it be that MJ has repeatedly asked us not to attribute motivations to other posters? I think she may have.

  5. 255 DogDoc Feb 4th, 2007 at 9:42 pm

aj Thanks for the link. Great!!!! Now which one talks about the vet???

  6. 256 juliegr Feb 4th, 2007 at 9:43 pm

  7. 257 terry Feb 4th, 2007 at 9:43 pm

Of course Juliegr, there is always Flip Flopping.

  8. 258 Kirsten Feb 4th, 2007 at 9:44 pm

    aj, thanks for the link!!!!

Everybody talks about the Superbowl ads, but we don’t get to see them here in Canada (just the boring old ads we’ve seen a gabillion times already).

I think the Superbowl ads have become almost as big a draw as the darn game.

This is conjuring up very vivid mental images in my mind…that have nothing to do with record sales.

  11. 261 DogDoc Feb 4th, 2007 at 9:48 pm

When is Kat going to be on LKL? Can’t wait for the snark on that one. Of course she may do great. Cough cough — is that a hairball in my throat.

  12. 262 juliegr Feb 4th, 2007 at 9:49 pm

h-m-m-m-m! Care to share or is this your very own xxx-rated dream?

Never mind, I’m probably too married to hear this — ha!

  13. 263 Grammie Kari Feb 4th, 2007 at 9:51 pm

I really want to like Kat, I really do. I need to find something admirable that she’s done. That would do it, right? I wanted to like her album, but there’s nothing to get excited about. Then I find myself thinking, “What other female finalist would have been better in the #2 spot?”

    Prince is an awesome entertainer!

  14. 264 aj Feb 4th, 2007 at 9:52 pm

DogDoc: I have no idea which one is about the vet/veg! Sorry!

Kirsten: Yes, I know people who only watch for the commercials!

  15. 265 terry Feb 4th, 2007 at 9:53 pm

The commercial referencing a vegetarian was for Jack in the Box.

  16. 266 aj Feb 4th, 2007 at 9:54 pm

Kat is scheduled for LKL this Thursday.

  17. 267 Margie Feb 4th, 2007 at 9:56 pm

aj, will she be on by herself the whole hour?

  18. 268 Margie Feb 4th, 2007 at 9:58 pm

    COLTS WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  19. 269 db Feb 4th, 2007 at 9:58 pm

Sarah - and all of you other Colt fans - congratulations. :)

  20. 270 aj Feb 4th, 2007 at 9:58 pm

Margie, I don’t know… All I know is that she is scheduled for Thursday. That’s a good question though.

  21. 271 scout7 Feb 4th, 2007 at 10:00 pm

Well I hope other runner ups are on LKL thursday too, Bo, Clay, Diania, Justin. I can’t imagine a hour with just Kat, she could really get in trouble given a whole hour to shout her mouth off!

  22. 272 Margie Feb 4th, 2007 at 10:01 pm

    scout, ain’t that the truth!

My XXX-rated dreams don’t involve ANY sort of flopping. :devil_tb:

  24. 274 DogDoc Feb 4th, 2007 at 10:03 pm

I can’t imagine Kat by herself for an hour. All the other idols on LKL the last few weeks had someone else with them. Kat is not the person to start a new trend. If she is by herself - well it could be fun. Hee hee.

  25. 275 Margie Feb 4th, 2007 at 10:03 pm

I hope who ever is on with her doesn’t think they will get to say anything. Remember when she was on with Taylor! :furious_tb:

  26. 276 terry Feb 4th, 2007 at 10:03 pm

Congratulations to the Colts and their fans!!

  27. 277 scout7 Feb 4th, 2007 at 10:05 pm

    yep!

  28. 278 Margie Feb 4th, 2007 at 10:06 pm

IMO Taylor was on this time with the perfect idol. Both true artist.

Wow! I’m REALLY impressed with Elliott’s single. Sounds really good; radio-friendly good.

  31. 281 scout7 Feb 4th, 2007 at 10:15 pm

yeh, Taylor and Fantasia on together was a great show. They both have so much class and dignity.

  32. 282 terry Feb 4th, 2007 at 10:16 pm

Watching AI Rewind…..It is a little different format than now. A male contestant sings for the judges and the 3 judges comment. Simmon said “if you win, then we will have failed”. So, evidently, Simon sees the judge’s job is to somehow “choose” the winner. How can they the mere judges do this??? So all the #### AI pulled on Taylor was indeed purposeful.

  33. 283 aj Feb 4th, 2007 at 10:16 pm

I agree about Elliott’s single. I’m anxious to hear his album. Do we know when that is due out?

  34. 284 Margie Feb 4th, 2007 at 10:17 pm

Tony, Yes it is, I am so proud of Elliott. Can’t wait for his cd. He is sure not a quitter .

scout, I never hear the name Scout that I don’t think of To Kill A Mockingbird. My favorite movie ever.

Did anyone else notice that the Unit commerical during the Super Bowl played Daughtry’s “What I Want!” I was in the kitchen and my husband recognized it and started yelling for me. I caught the tail end of it.
    ———-

well Jennifer, that just makes my day.

! (congrats to you dammit !)

  40. 290 scout7 Feb 4th, 2007 at 10:31 pm

Margie, To Kill A Mockingbird is my favorite too.

  41. 291 Margie Feb 4th, 2007 at 10:32 pm

jennifer, I was so glad to hear all the support on the superbowl for your hometown. I hope they get all the help they need because they are going to need it.

  42. 292 Kat Feb 4th, 2007 at 10:36 pm

To Kill A Mockingbird is my favorite too.

I just finished reading that book before Christmas, and saw the movie too. What an amazing story that was.

    Catching up here tonight…

Love Elliott’s single. Can’t wait to hear the whole thing. I really hope he is successful. He deserves it.

I have come to the conclusion that Kat’s CD is not going to flop. If she hits 100K+ the first week, she’ll be on target to do at least the same numbers as Kellie, initially. If the single is a radio hit, she’ll do better than that.

Watched Idol Rewind last night and couldn’t believe how bad some of the people were (and how off-base Randy and Pauler were with some of their comments). Simon was pretty much right on the money, though. I don’t think Ryan Starr should have made it, though. The kid from ATL (friend of Tamyra’s) was better. Too bad for him. I got all emotional when the three were chosen, though. Good show. Kelly Clarkson is on next week. That should be interesting.

Prince’s halftime show was outstanding - the best in a long, long time. Loved the marching bands and his singing “Purple Rain” in the pouring rain. Good show.

Kat alone on LKL! We can only hope!

    That’s it!

  46. 296 MaryS-NJ Feb 4th, 2007 at 11:07 pm

I almost never watch the half time shows. They’re usually pretty tepid and sort of like background noise. But I have to say - THAT was one helluva performance! Reminds me of why Prince is the superstar that he is.

And Prince is probably the only guy who can pull off a powder blue suit with gold shirt and make it work, even in the rain. I think the schmata on his head was to keep the rain out of his hair… maybe he forgot his comb.

  47. 297 Kat Feb 4th, 2007 at 11:35 pm

I just got finished watching Idol Rewind…WOW did some of those people suck. But I have to say, I really enjoyed the tone of Ryan Starr’s voice. Maybe I’m just biased toward altos…who knows. ;-) Also, Tamyra? Not all that. Sorry.

  48. 298 sammy Feb 4th, 2007 at 11:44 pm

I watched the rewind show since I hadn’t seen Season 1. I was surprised that they had some really poor singers in that group. Randy and Paula comments were amazing…unless my TV sound was really off.

  49. 299 terry Feb 5th, 2007 at 12:20 am

My 2 cents, I agree with all of the previous posts about the AI1 contestants, not the depth of talent as compared to AI5. I have only watched AI5. I thought the judges comments were more interesting and helpful than now.

what did Taylor sell his first week? wasn’t it about 300,000?
