I listened to clips of Brandon Rogers over at CDBaby. I like him.
Of course his CD is out of stock so I checked iTunes. I typed in Brandon Rogers and it gave me Taylor Hick’s CD.
On the Barbara Walters Special that aired before the Academy Awards, Barbara asked Jennifer Hudson if she would thank American Idol judge Simon Cowell if she won an Oscar. Jennifer said “Wow, will I thank Simon Cowell? You know, I will probably thank American Idol as a whole, because had it not been for American Idol, they never would have known of a Jennifer Hudson to call.”
However, when Jennifer Hudson actually won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, she thanked several people, but she did not thank American Idol. Jennifer Hudson won the Oscar for her role in “Dreamgirls” over fellow nominees Adriana Barraza, Cate Blanchett, Abigail Breslin, and Rinko Kikuchi.
After she was presented the Oscar by George Clooney, an emotional Jennifer Hudson said “Oh my God, I have to just take this moment in. I cannot believe this. Look what God can do. If my grandmother…I didn’t think I was going to win…but wow if my grandmother were here to see me now, she was my biggest inspiration for everything, because she was a singer, and she had the passion for it, but she never had the chance, and that was the thing that pushed me forward to continue, but I’m so grateful to have my mother here celebrating with me, my boyfriend, my sisters, and my brothers back home, and then I’ve got two of them here.”
Hudson also added, “Thank you all for being here and supporting me. I would also like to thank Bill Condon, our director, who’s a genius. Oh my God, unbelievable cast, I would like thank the Academy, definitely have to thank God I guess again, I can’t believe this. Wow, I don’t know what to say, but I thank you all for helping me keep the faith, even when I didn’t believe, thank you and God bless you all, Jennifer Holiday too.”

i stood for three hours to see taylor last nite. i took 1 husband…1 sound engineer son who hates american idol and 1 son who is in the entertainment business…hates AI but likes taylors cd. first my sound son had never seen Taylor because of his prejudice. After the show and his explanation of the sound system…the most important elements because it used arrays…his professional opinion is that Taylors show stands up against the Eagles and in many respects Prince. he believes his use of the stage and interaction with the band is unique in the music scene right now and was impressed with my good taste.ha.
Her best friend and fellow “Idol” auditioner, Amanda Coluccio, said the tamer shots are of Barba, including a full-length shot of Barba naked, covered with rose petals, taken for a calendar she made for her boyfriend of several years. But the lewdest of the bunch, she is certain, are not Barba, a Red Bank Catholic High School graduate who had been studying architecture until she got her break on “Idol.”
“They were meant to be seen by one person and one person only,” Coluccio said at her Holmdel home. “The really bad ones aren’t her. I’ve studied them. It’s not her nose. She’s never had (acrylic nail) tips in her life. She’s the least slutty person I know.”
“Idol” producers won’t make Barba, or any of the semifinalists, available for interviews until after they are ousted. But Coluccio, who speaks with Barba daily, says they believe someone from Catholic University broke into her computer and posted the pictures.
“She’s been crying. She’s horrified,” Coluccio says. “She’s most upset about what her parents think.”
(Also)
“According to Coluccio, producers told Barba that they are reviewing the most recent, and most explicit, photos, and that Barba doesn’t believe her position has been jeopardized by the pictures.”
Glad you liked it, Botay!
