And I actually will trust Pay the Devil to give an honest assessment of the crowd, because she has spoken negatively of Taylor’s audience in the past and has, on several occasions, confirmed that the stereotypes were true. So if she now says that the stereotypes are being shattered–heh–I believe her! :-)
I loved that song (and Jack Wagner). I can’t see Taylor doing it either. Thanks for the link, Hezzer. I enjoyed watching some of the others clips. Frisco Jones was the reason I watched General Hospital in those days but he wasn’t a doctor, Madaboutu. Wasn’t he a spy or something? I saw him recently in a golf tournament on tv. He’s still pretty cute.

Kat - Thanks so much for posting the email address for Leslie. I am hoping she will release a good album in the future. I was so sad to see her go. The first half of her “Feeling Good” performance was perhaps my all-time favorite AI female vocal. (Up until the unfortunate scatting anyway.)
I hate Belters, Divas and Boybanders… so there’s not much to interest me anymore in AI6 except for maybe Melinda and Sligh.
Oh, and Kat, I bet a lot of the guys in the Asheville crowd were there because of Taylor’s very impressive contributions to the Christmas Jam.
bean99…………you are right. It was Rick Springfield, another one who launched a singing career off General Hospital. Frisco Jones was great tho. I loved GH back in the day. Can’t stand soaps now, but Luke and Laura and Bobbi Spenser and Scorpio and Anna were so cool!!!!!!!!

I am watching an Elvis special that has his old band members with a technologicaly reproduced Elvis with them. He is singing a really hot song and even if its fake…it’s hot.
Animated hip swivels ??? Taylor always talks about the AI visit to Graceland with fondness. Would have loved to seen a pic ofTaylor or Elliott or Chris on a horse.
About Jared….. He has a nice voice and is good looking …BUT , there is something about the eyebrows that puts me off. I think I saw those same eyebrows on a grumpy muppet.

Re: Graceland The only pics I have seen was one of Taylor petting a horse, but he says they did ride. That would be neat to see all of them on horseback. I am sure there are pics out there.
Hey Madaboutu, AmyH was at the concert and may not be home yet. But , for real, she said it on the cellcert after the show. Taylor yelled “security security”. Wish I was there to run to his rescue. :)

You know mad, I may be alone in this but I think that Taylor is being offered scripts and I bet one is about Elvis. Since Dream Girls , a musical, did fairly well in theaters, producers may think there is $$$ to be made..
I dont think the reason they rarely mention Taylor on AI has anything to do with any type of agenda.
They mention Daughtry because he’s obviously the one doing the best. They mention Katharine because she’s turned into a different kind of celebrity. One that may not have much to do with sales, but just as equally important in today’s culture.
Also, because of Daughtry they’re really trying to emphasize the “you don’t have to win” factor. More talented people will try out if they know that they can make a splash in the music business whether they come in 1st or 6th.
IMO, people who feel that they’re “dissing” Taylor in any way are looking WAY to into it. There’s no reason for whoever controls what Ryan says to have any type of malice towards Taylor. Why would they purposely leave him out? To laugh behind his back because they don’t like him? I doubt they’re that childish. I think it’s a very simple thing. Taylor will probably be mentioned many times within the season.
Chris, Kat stayed with the 19M management company…so they get mentioned on an E19 show AI. Taylor dropped 19M and went with The Firm management company……..therefore, he does not get recognized on AI. Maybe, it is an object lesson for future idols not to stray from the E19 family.
AFan………I hate to burst your bubble, but there are people in high places who are definitely that childish and not only that, jealous and vindictive and mean. And since the music business is in trouble………..cut throat.
I am not saying that this is happening to Taylor….but don’t ever rule it out on anyone.
Simon has made his opinion quite clear about how he feels about Taylor , he can’t stand him. This is not a figment of anyones imagination , it’s a fact.

Well if Kat and Chris stayed with 19 and Taylor left it makes a lot of sense that they would feel more of an obligation to promote Kat and Chris. But honestly, Taylor isn’t important enough to be hated by the AI peeps. They have bigger fish to fry. Simon has stated his own personal opinion about Taylor and there’s nothing wrong with that. Simon has said lots of stuff. He let’s the world know about his hatred for Bob Dylan or anything that doesn’t smell like money, for that matter.
SO it’s like product placement. If Taylor isn’t with them anymore, they would really feel no need to drop his name. It’s as simple as that. It was Taylor’s decision to leave 19.
Mad, the music business is tough and scary and I wouldn’t even begin to pretend like I knew the half of it. But I highly doubt they’re wasting time trying to figure out ways to screw Taylor. They’ve had more success than they could dream of out of last season. I’m sure they’re OK with everyone.

Wow what stupid logic. He came in third. Let’s think a bit here, Chris came in 4th and is doing great, Kellie came in what? 8th? she is doing pretty well herself. I believe Bucky will also do pretty well. So what third is last or something. These people crack me up. second is the new first but third is just pure suckage. sheesh.
weelassie………….this looks like another case of speak before you hear or see, or just plain someone who doesn’t like E. You know Taylor fans go through this over and over, but I think E is going to get more good reviews than bad, so not to worry.
I agree with you Afan. Maybe I just refuse to read too much into it or get into conspiracy theories, but I highly doubt the producers are childishly ignoring Taylor on purpose. Neither do I think it’s meant as a little slap on the hand for leaving 19M. If it were, they wouldn’t rave about Kelly, who also left their management as soon as she was able.
Yes childishness does happen in high places at times, but I’m afraid I just don’t see it here. Taylor has not gone on to sell stellar numbers, while Daughtry has. The difference in their sales is understandable, since they are aiming at such different demos, but in the eyes of the hype machine, big sales that make AI gleam a little brighter are all that bears reminding ad nauseum to the teevee audience. ;)
