I said this yesterday in the Hits thread, but it I’ll say it again–despite not selling over the predicted 200K, Adam’s debut numbers are still excellent. Coming in at #3 on the BB200 competing with a host of heavy hitters is impressive.
And Carrie? Play On is doing quite nicely. Congrats to her. Susan Boyle’s monster numbers are incomprehensible.
Susan Boyle Set to Debut at #1, Adam Lambert at #2
Hits Daily Double is sticking by their earlier sales prediction for Adam Lambert and Susan Boyle.
Susan is going to be the big winner, coming in at #1 with 625-675K in sales. Adam Lambert’s For Your Entertainment is set to come in second, with 210-230K
Susan’s debut would be the year’s biggest debut, beating Eminem’s 608K for his Relapse album.
Lady Gaga’s seven-song Fame Monster EP will sell between 190-210k, putting her at #3. Her just-released two-disc Fame Monster deluxe edition should add another 130-150k to that album’s total.
Carrie Underwood is set to sell 100-120K this week.

The editor of Billboard Magazine, Bill Werde, hath spoken, via Twitter:
@bwerde: hearing that susan boyle will go scorched earth on rihanna and adam lambert in album sales this week. so much for a showdown.

thanks maura…
Update from Hits Daily Double:
DREAM COMES TRUE: Susan Boyle’s Columbia album, I Dreamed a Dream, which hit the streets today, is already selling two to three times the estimated pre-release total for retailers, on top of breaking the all-time pre-order record at Amazon.com. Based on current tallies, the disc will easily top 500k and could go even higher. (11/23p)
Susan Boyle: I Dreamed a Dream Track List
In case your’re interested (I am, sorta) the track list for Susan Boyle’s upcoming CD has been released to the press.
“For the second time in a month Susan has defied preconceptions,” Susan’s rep tells People, “Everyone thought it was going to be an album of showtunes, but it’s not.”
Erm, hasn’t Simon Cowell and everyone associated with the Britain’s Got Talent runner up been yammering on, since BGT wrapped up, that Susan wouldn’t be recording show tunes? I think her first single, The Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses” was a pretty big clue.
Along with the Stones, Susan also covers songs by Madonna, The Monkees and Patti Griffin. I have no desire to hear Susan Boyle strip the emotion out of “Up To The Mountain” thankxokgbye.
Susan Boyle’s album I Dreamed a Dream come out November 24.
via People.
Check out the full track list, after the JUMP…
Susan Boyle Covers the Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses”
The first single off of Susan Boyle’s upcoming album has leaked, and it’s an unlikely choice–a cover of the Stones “Wild Horses”.
I don’t care to have my favorite rock songs prettified like this, but I have to say the song is very well produced.
Check it out. What do you think?
Idol Bits and Pieces: Jennifer Hudson, Susan Boyle, Carrie Underwood, Glee and More

The taping begins at 5 pm, and you can sign up on line, HERE. The show will air Thursday September 10. This will be the first public appearance for Jennifer since she recently gave birth to a baby boy…
Simon Cowell tells Extra that the new season of American Idol without Paula Abdul is “different” and that he misses her. Using one of his famous meaningless analogies, Simon says comparing the show with and without Paula is “like comparing a carrot to a banana.” Uhm. Whatever.
Speaking of Simon Cowell, Simon protoge, and Britain’s Got Talent runner-up, Susan Boyle’s upcoming album, I Dreamed A Dream jumped to the top of the Amazon.com
chart after it was released for pre-order a few days ago. Currently, Susan is beating out Whitney Houston and the Beatles for the top spot. I don’t get it. Really, Susan is an average singer. It might help that her album is now listed for only $9.99… I Dreamed a Dream drops November 24.
Carrie Underwood’s wax figure from Madame Tussaud’s in New York City is moving to the Madame Tussaud’s in Washington, DC for the fall and winter. Wax figures = Creepy!
Some Broadway news: Constantine Maroulis will take part in the annual Broadway on Broadway concert, hosted this year by Michael McKean (Spinal Tap, awesome Christopher Guest movies), in Times Square on September 13. And Toxic Avenger’s Diana DeGarmo will be a judge in New York Musical Theater Festival’s Next Broadway Sensation competition, to be held at New World Stages on September 13, September 20, and October 4.
Katharine McPhee joins Lionel Richie for An Evening of Stars, the United Negro College Fund’s yearly televised celebration of excellence in entertainment and education. The program takes place September 12th from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in CA, and will air in January, 2010 on BET, WGN and other cable stations.
Season 4 runner up, Bo Bice will head back to his hometown of Helena, Alabama to help raise awareness and money for local Helena organizations, with a concert and poker run Sept. 26. More information HERE.
President Obama is set to hold a press conference on Wednesday September 9 at 8 pm. NBC, CBS and ABC have committed time to the president. FOX has not, and probably won’t–they declined to interrupt an episode of So You Think You Can Dance back in July for a scheduled conference. No effing way are they preempting the premiere of their hot new show, Glee for the president…
