Taylor Hicks Performs the Fall in Chicago – VIDEO

Taylor Hicks is in Chicago with the road tour of Grease, playing the Teen Angel, and he stopped by the WGN studios for an interview and a live performance.

He sang one of my favorite song “The Fall”. Oh man, this is good stuff:

After the jump, watch the interview. Taylor talks about his upcoming album, The Distance, dropping March 10, and his deep love for Bozo the Clown. Heh:

“The Fall” is my most favorite song of his. I still love me some Taylor. I thought he made idol so much fun to watch. I love his passion for music. I wish he could find a good fit with radio. I can’t wait to get his new album and I hope my AC station plays him.

  • I was just listening to In Your Time the other day. I had been missing Taylor so I’m really looking forward to his new music.

The Fall is a beautiful song. That’s the type of music he needs to do. He won’t get anywhere with AC, middle of the road music.

Record sales be danged, Taylor is still my favorite Idol winner. He puts a smile on my face.

He wonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t get anywhere with AC, middle of the road music.

If he gets the right promotion and his music is heard, Taylor will do very well.

This is the Taylor that we all loved, and he did a great job this morning with The Fall.

Here is the old Taylor I loved. The Fall was one of my favorites off his earlier cd’s along with Somehow. His mp3 of Georgia is still my favorite, he put so much soul & passion into Georgia. (it is still in the top of my mp3’s)

I disagree. AC music is background music in offices.

  • Very nice WGN interview this morning; thought the questions were well presented although going over much the same stuff again. Doesn’t matter, since the intent of the appearance was to promote the new album — the Distance, the opening of Grease in Chicago; and the appearance at an after play club show at Martyrs in Chicago on Saturday night.

A total win-win situation for both Taylor and the station.

Damnit, I love this man. Adore. This. Song.

  • jersey:

    That was nice to see.

  • dancingqueen:

He’s such a kid sometimes – happy he can keep that part of himself thriving. Wonderful performance of “The Fall”, so nice to see them plug “Early Works”, besides Grease & Martyr’s. I hope he does get to come back and play the Bozo game!

  • hicksaholic:

For me there is no one that compares to Taylor. Listening to him makes me happy. Not my favorite version of The Fall though. I didn’t like that cascading stuff. I love The Fall though and particularly the Nashville Session version.

  • chewsday:

Ah, Taylor and the Fall. You’re right, MJ; that’s good stuff!

  • JOJOSIE:

I’ll be so happy when the new album comes out as I’ve about worn TH the album out. Not to worry as I have a spare one stashed away for later. When I get too missing him I play one of the HD videos I have from his Idol appearances. With a DVD and a new CD both coming out soon I’m a happy fan. Good interview. Seeing Taylor makes me smile, like hicksaholic says “there’s no one that compares to Taylor”. :clap_tb:
