Thanks for posting this, it’s hilarious! I saw her monologue song on the MSN page and loved it! I also saw part of one of her skits BFF(?) on SNL. What a great sense of humor this girl has!!

I have loved taylor since I first saw her on Ellen quite a long time ago. . I was impressed by her. She is not a great singer, but she does write young relevent songs for her generation. She is,mostly, impressive as a person of character. She is just such a Real Kid, and she puts her stuff out there in her music.She is just so gratefull for her success ,and for the kindness that she has recieved from the experienced singers, especially those who have mentored and encouraged her. She has made her appreciation public and she in turn subscribes to paying it all forward. Kellie Pickler says Taylor is her Best friend.(They played Madison square gardens together).
I am not usually a follower of Country music but I am an admirer of this special, quirky, kind, and multitalented girl!!!!!
LOL….IF I’d ever had Kids I woulld have volunteered for her and Adams
dopplegangers!!
Sheesh….Can’t believe I said that!!!….Oh Well. LOL

I can see an acting career in her future, too. Nothing deep. Comedy for sure though.

I’ve been a fan of Taylor’s for awhile, love her music, and her as a person. She was great on SNL, the monologue was witty and fun, she’s really incredibly talented. Great vocals are only one aspect of singing, she deserves all the success she’s having, it’s nice that people recognize her talent after seeing her on SNL, it makes me happy.

Idols aside (which leads to other issues on this blog), did you happen to miss Adele on SNL last year? That performance (IMO) got her big buzz started late last year, boosted her iTunes sales immediately post-performance (and stayed up there) and, I believe, helped lead to her getting a Grammy for Best New Artist. She hit it out the park, as they say in the parlance. Also, Beyonce didn’t do too bad last year either.

ETA: I’ve seen the SNL videos and they are quite funny (especially the Twilight parody). I’m still not a fan of her singing or songwriting though. Honestly, even before I knew who wrote the songs, I would hear one of her songs and go, ‘what the hell is this? Is this a real song vs. made up right on the spot?’ But obviously, I’m in the extreme minority. She is super successful and lots of people seem to love her music.

I was wondering if you would make a post on this MJ. I watched it and it was awesome, my favourite SNL in a long time. I loved the teenage driving sketch and the twilight parody. I admire her songwriting a LOT but I don’t like her voice.

It was the best episode in a long time. She has a dry wit anyway but her comedic timing was perfect. I also love that she doesn’t take herself too seriously. That’s unusual for someone her age.

As far as her live singing, I have to appreciate that she never lip syncs even though she’s always criticized. On top of that, I’ve yet to hear a musical guest who sounds good on that stage. The acoustics are terrible.

I wasn’t expecting much. I actually thought she was just going to be the musical guest. Her monologue was hilarious. And it just wasn’t the content, it was her delivery as much as content. Her skits were good too. Again, wasn’t expecting much at all. I definitely think she was one of my most favorite hosts! I’d definitely rewatch it in reruns.

Taylor was awesome on SNL. She’s so gifted and sincere and just really accessible. I didn’t get what the fuss was about when I saw her perform the first time. But, I got her album, watched her videos and now I totally get why people love her. She just brightens your day. Talented vocalist…if it’s a technical category…then no. But, if it’s based on the listener’s response to her voice and her music then she has a fair shot.

I have to say that I really don’t like her song, the one that always plays on the radio, so I’ve never been a fan, but I have to admit that she was great on SNL. It made me see why people like her. Hey, it even made me like her a little more. She was really quite good on the sketches. The SNL episode was the best I’ve seen in a long time.

I was blown away by how good she was in the monologue, the “Firelight” sketch and that teenage driving sketch. She was really funny and her Bella was dead on. SNL also hit their stride more than they had all season. Things began faltering toward the end as usual, but first hour was lulzworthy on many occasions.

Taylor is certainly not the best vocalist but she has a real talent at songwriting. As she gets older her songwriting will mature with her and I can’t wait to see the evolution from “Our Song” to the 30 year old Taylor. I’m not exactly a Taylor fan but I always support artists who write their own stuff so for that I respect her.

Yeah, I know. I like her well enough, but I wouldn’t call her a talented vocalist at all. But, you never know with these things, which already have such a bizarre logic to them.

I was surprised by her — not only was she a great sport, but she really had a lot of comic flair and was in nearly all of the sketches.

I still think SNL desperately needs some better writers, and I’m tired of its gross-frat-boy tone. But the show was better than usual the other night, and Taylor may just turn out to be a good little actress on top of her other talents…

Taylor Swift was awesome. It was the best SNL in ages. She also did a “Twilight” parody called “Firelight”, with Frankenstein monsters rather than vampires that was spot on.
