Bucky’s speech seems to be clearer!

  2. 2 Kirsten Nov 7th, 2007 at 9:55 pm

    Go Carrie, Kellie and Bucky!

Kind of nice for Bucky to present an award to his labelmates.

I just read over on TWoP on Phil’s thread that he was interviewed on the red carpet and he has signed with Lyric Street Records (same as Bucky and Rascal Flatts).

I hope that this is true. YAY! That’s the perfect label for him. Lyric record really knows how to work with ex-Idols (Bucky and Josh Gracin).

I am watching the CMAs only to hear the Eagles.

  5. 5 JustSomeGuy Nov 7th, 2007 at 10:15 pm

    Hey, how about those Eagles??

Oh, and I am in love with Allison Kraus, strictly in the artistic sense.

And how come neither Bucky nor Kellie sang?? These Paisley/Chesney clones are getting a little redundant.

    Carrie looked and sounded amazing…

“These Paisley/Chesney clones are getting a little redundant.”

    Amen to that

    Go Carrie, Kellie and Bucky!

Ditto. And hopefully next year Phil will be up there as a nominee as well…

As are the blond Faith/Carrie fembots.

That’s what I heard. Apparently Josh Hoge (who is touring with E and writing for Blake) spilled that he’s also writing for Phil and that Phil’s signed to Lyric Street. I remember they were checking out Phil in Nashville during the tour, so I’m not surprised.

    Go Phil!

ETA: I’m not watching, but I checked out MJ’s video of Carrie. I wish I could get into her, but she’s devoid of personality. She should just give Kellie her voice and all would be right.

  11. 11 Sirie Nov 7th, 2007 at 11:12 pm

Yes! Carrie won FVOY again! I was hoping Kellie would win the Horizon…

  12. 12 maracaibo Nov 7th, 2007 at 11:16 pm

Carrie looked so pretty and sang beautifully as always.
Congrats Carrie! Female Vocalist of the Year two years on a row! Wow!

  13. 13 Trina Nov 7th, 2007 at 11:35 pm

I had a feeling Phil was going to sign with them but I’m so glad to hear its official! I just loved him this season and IMO he was so underrated.

Carrie is like this is unstoppable train.

Aww too bad they didn’t get Faith Hill to present Carrie’s award. I know she would’ve loved to… :rolleyes_wp:

Josh Hoge writing for Phil? I hadn’t heard that! First Blake - now Phil. I love Josh Hoge.

  15. 15 Lu Nov 7th, 2007 at 11:39 pm

Carrie is like this is unstoppable train.

    Unstoppable and unavoidable.

  16. 16 JustSomeGuy Nov 7th, 2007 at 11:40 pm

Wow…Kellie’s performance. Can’t imagine how difficult that was.
The word ‘heart wrenching’ doesn’t really do it justice.

Then Kid Rock comes on, so all is back to normal.

I found that interesting as well. I was told Josh posted it on eTrain.

Pickler’s performance tore me up. Totally. I didn’t think she’d be able to get through it, considering the significance of the evening and all, and she did pretty well until the end. Wow.

  19. 19 Kirsten Nov 8th, 2007 at 12:36 am

Thanks for the videos MJ! Kellie had me tearing up by the end.

Bucky looked mighty fine at the CMAs. Who would have thought that the guy who showed up in Hollywood looking like this:

would look like this two years later:

Tanks for this M.J…more a fan of this show than the AMA’s. And I don’t even listen to country music.
A lot of great vocal perforamnces. For me, Sugarland was the best. Incredible.

  22. 22 pj Nov 8th, 2007 at 1:04 am

MJ, thanks for the Kellie vid. I too teared up. I’m very impressed by Ms. Pickler.

  23. 23 cricket Nov 8th, 2007 at 1:24 am

Kellie was a hoot up there with the kid from the marching band. That gal isn’t afraid to have fun. She should have won instead of Taylor Swift whos performance made my ears bleed. Saw that girl sing live this summer and she couldn’t carry a tune then either. Talk about a fembot geesh.. I don’t get how they judge these things.
By the way … Josh Turner is HOT !!!

  24. 24 abbysee Nov 8th, 2007 at 1:26 am

Brava Ms. Pickler, brava! She really reminds me of Dolly, not the best voice but she emotes like nobodies business. I love that song.

  25. 25 calimari Nov 8th, 2007 at 9:56 am

OK, first off I am not at all a fan of country music - I might like a song here or there, but that’s it. In Carrie’s AI season, I rooted for Bo. I thought Carrie was pretty, had a good voice, but her performances left me totally flat/she felt robotic to me. So I watched her opening performance last night and I found that she is still beautiful, can still belt it, and she still leaves me with nothing. But - good for her for making it in such a tough business!.
Bucky - I somehow had a soft spot in my heart for this guy season 5. I didn’t think he’d last as far as he did, but I thought he had something & could make a go of it, so I’m glad that he’s still hanging in. Like him MUCH better than Phil Stacey from season 6. Go Bucky!
Kelli Pickler - I hated her all thru season 5. I was SOOO glad when she was voted off. I absolutely loved her on Leno afterwards & her various comedy stints. This song - “I Wonder” - doesn’t really strike me as a country song other than her accent, and I think it’s quite a sweet & moving song but that performance - wow - I can’t believe she had the strength to finish it. I don’t think she’s performed it in front of an audience that large & she was just overwhelmed. Way to go Kelli - I hated her then but wish her all the best now.

  26. 26 jpfan Nov 8th, 2007 at 9:59 am

I’m assuming Kellie sings that song at every show she does. I’m sure this was a very special night for her but Kellie is also one smart cookie.I love Bucky but he looks the same to me in his before and after pictures. It was fun to see both of them and see how great they’re doing. I’m starting to get a “huge bitch” vibe from Carrie but hopefully that’ll make her more interesting. My fav: Allison Krause.

  27. 27 ealbino Nov 8th, 2007 at 10:09 am

Yeah for Pickler! and Yeah for Carrie!! She looked and sounded amazing!! I can’t believe how much I love her album. All except for 2 (twisted and get out of this town)…After hearing the album about 5 times straight last nite I can see how she was voted female vocalist again.. Her voice is so clear and her notes on This is just a dream and I know you wont give me chills. Flat on the floor and crazy dreams and More boys I meet are so much fun and hopefully singles!

  28. 28 bean99 Nov 8th, 2007 at 10:25 am

I didn’t watch although I wish I’d seen the Eagles. Good for Carrie although I wish she’d wear something other than gold or beige at these things. Someone must have told her it looks good with her hair and she’s afraid to try anything else. :blink_tb: Bucky is such a cutie!

  29. 29 Sirie Nov 8th, 2007 at 10:35 am

It’s a great album and will probably be multi-platinum like “Some Hearts”…I loved her humble acceptance speech for FVOTY and find her quiet and reserved nature refreshing…

” She should have won instead of Taylor Swift whos performance made my ears bleed. ”

Amen to that! Last night was the first time I saw Taylor perform, thought it was an amateur, flat performance. Kellie should have won the Horizon award, imo.

  31. 31 david90531 Nov 8th, 2007 at 12:31 pm

    Wow Kellie, I’m impressed
And Carrie is just unstoppable! Congrats to her the new album is HOT

  32. 32 purplesmile Nov 8th, 2007 at 12:45 pm

That dang Kellie song makes me cry every time!

  33. 33 primeminister Nov 8th, 2007 at 2:32 pm

    whoa! kellie

Loving the emotions behind the song.

  34. 34 WVIdolFan Nov 8th, 2007 at 3:30 pm

I thought that Carrie and Taylor would win. Im not into Carries new song but she sure did sing it last night. I missed Taylors performance but Ive heard her sing live 2 before and both times she was flat. I do like her new song, I think she appeals big time to the tween crowd. I thought Kellie was the most gorgeous there, esp that bronze dress. However, the slicked back hairdo she had when she sang made her look too old, imo. Her usual sassy hairdo just fits her personality. Ive seen Kellie sing that song live on TV numerous times and shes always had a hard time with it. Somehow last night, the emotion didnt seem real to me, unless it was performing at the CMAs. Anyway, real or not, im sure it was a help to her career. I have her album and love it. For me, Jennifer Nettles performance of Stay and Leann and Rebas duet were the best. I think Leann totally stole the song from Reba. Ive got a whole new appreciation for Leann lately. I love her new song and video, Nothing to Do. I thought Bucky looked hot as usual. Hopefully next year we will see him perform and get a nom.
