Ok, ross. Let’s kradam…wait kradison.
I don’t know. I’m a writer and I know, when you are flying by the seat of your pants and letting it all happen, that’s when it’s magic. When you start over-thinking and over-producing, that’s when you start questioning yourself and get bogged down. Now, I don’t believe they are going to let any major-label be released in a rush, but I’d also love if they’d just let something organic happen. As Adam said, RedOne is a genius that works on the fly.
I also know that I’ve listened to “Brigadoon” (a tape-recording of a live, outdoor show) and it could not be more immaculate if you had all the production in the world behind it. The same thing goes for “Come Home” and “I Just Love You,” they are stellar. AND they are just recordings (one shot deals) of live covers.
I want Adam to do his original stuff, of course, but those covers are so exceptional that they warrant a consideration of some release in themselves.
If nothing else, they are indicative of the kind of quality work that can be done without an avalanche of production behind them.
I’ve decided I want to watch pre-show/post show interviews, see fan pics but I’m not going to watch clips of the actual concert. It’s going to kill me, but I want my first real impression of the performances to be at the show on July 20th. It is definitely gonna kill me though. Can’t wait to see Adam!! I’m also so looking forward to Allison, she is so talented. I hate suspense.

“As Adam said, RedOne is a genius that works on the fly.”
Red One is good. Chemistry between producer and artist is also important. Once there is the meeting of the minds, then the rest should be fast.
“When you start over-thinking and over-producing, that’s when you start questioning yourself and get bogged down. ”
Creative suffers when on over thinks and over analyze. I am in the advertising industry and we see this always happening in commercial creative development. Client always 2nd guess what the consumers wants and viola, they want everything in the material. This should not happen.

Yes, yes, yes. I can listen to these songs the whole day. For those who think that Adam’s music are not for radio airplay, they just have to listen to all these materials to realize that his songs are for radio airplay.
mj started a new topic
It’s not comparable. Writing is a solitary effort. Recording an album is collaborative, and there are many, many fingers in the pies here.
I’d bet my house that these first albums from Adam and Kris are going to be just a’ight at best. And I’m basing my opinion on watching these Idols release records year after year.
MJ, I have to agree. this is my first year really following Idol but I can’t see how anyone could end up with a great album considering the way these AI albums get put together — so many commenting masters, having to work on the album when not touring (a day here and there), and putting together original material in a couple of months.
I can’t see how any of them can focus on creative collaboration.
I guess I can hope for a miracle or two. But I will guarentee one thing both Adam and Kris will have at least one song that is better then NoBo.
And Kris fans better hope you’re wrong, because that will be the end for Kris Allen. He can’t survive an a’ight album. Adam, on the other hand, can. As can Allison.

It would be one thing if they had from June – October to work on the album ONLY but when you got a grueling tour stuck in the middle of that along with promotion
you just have to hope for something that is good and representative of who you are and speaks to future potential and hopefully has at least one if not two radio hits.
I suspect for example Jordin’s #2 album is going to do even better than her first album because she was able to take more time.
I’d say the only difference is that Adam has Broadway to fall back on. If Adam (or Allison) doesn’t move units, they’ll get dropped, just like any other Idol who didn’t meet TPTB’s expectations
