What a great final show.
The first three acts, a good and two greats.
Ashley Clark would have won Idol if had entered.
Can’t wait to see if I’m on t.v. tonight. Heh. Looking forward to this show… It was so fun in person. I have no idea how they will cram the 4 hours I was there into an hour minus commercials.
Yeah!! Love the Clark Brothers! Sounds like the show will be back from what the host said. Tonight was a fun Christmas show.
YAY!!! My curse is finally broken. This is the first time EVER on a reality show that the favorite I’ve picked from the beginning has actually won the whole thing.
CONGRATS to The Clark Brothers!!! No one else was more deserving, IMO. And you can tell how shocked, but grateful they were just by their reaction after they were announced the winner.
I agree with whoever pointed out that the winning band should get a guest performer spot on AI next season… it would be great exposure for the band, and a performance by them would keep it the “family”, so to speak, for 19.
I absolutely LOVE these guys… YAY for The Clark Brothers!! I can’t wait to buy the album!
Congrats to the Clark Bros., they closed it out right. Man I’d buy that song in a heartbeat! I got all teary eyed at their reactions, what a humble bunch of guys.
Sheila E. and C.O.E.D.s (Chronicles of Every Diva) funktastic version of “A Glamorous Life” was outstanding. Those women can rock…DAYUM! :)
All the musicians have bonded and it was a joy to see them all onstage together having a great time. Everyone seemed truly happy for the Clark Bros. I only wish that Franklin Bridge could have been there too.
Great ending to an enjoyable first run.
Yay back to my sistah from anotha motha. We were right about CD too, it just took people awhile to catch on - lol.
You could have used a knife to cut through the shock and gratitude they exuded. At one point early in the show, I heard Austin tell Sheila that he was going home - that Sixwire was gonna win - and she said “no, you’re not going anywhere”. They just kept shaking their heads and taking deep breaths.
Love these guys. I will buy whatever they put out - the first time anyway.
Great finale and satisfying outcome. I loved the medleys and how they mixed up the groups. “Smooth” was outstanding. That had to be an awesome show live. The Clark Brothers were very deserving and their gratitude made it all worth it. Loved this show. Now… on to Idol!
*L* Funny, I always seem to pick the runner-up for Idol. I did pick the winner for both seasons of Rockstar… And for TGNAB, I gotta say, I really thought Sixwire and Clark Bros were the top 2… But I couldn’t choose between the two as far as who I thought was going to win.
I am so sorry this is over! I have thoroughly enjoyed every show!
From the moment I heard The Clarks in the audition, I knew they were different. I feel blessed watching this season where The Clarks have
touched many people. They are about to take this country by storm!
I hope that 19E brings NGAB back next year!
Loved the finale! And yea for the Clark Brothers. I will happily buy their cd.
Do you all think Six Wire got enough attention to get some consideration for a record deal?
I’m gonna miss this show! Yay for the Clark Brothers! I do hope that Sixwire gets a deal out of this too. If not with 19 than with someone else. I will buy cd’s from both groups.
The finale was fantastic. I loved how they mixed up the groups, too, as someone mentioned above. And the Christmas medley was great fun!
I hope that Fox gives this show another chance next year on another night - not likely given the ratings, but one can always hope.
Now THAT was entertainment! Great finale in every respect. I enjoyed every minute of it and cannot remember a show where that was true, except for maybe the Idol 5 finale.
The band mashups were just a load of fun and it seemed to be something all of them enjoyed doing as well. What was cool is that they were all in these “made up” groups and yet played and sang the music spot-on.
Sheila E and her band were just off the hook good. I love “A Glamorous Life” anyway, and they totally rocked it! How good was their lead guitar player?
While the Goo Goo’s were good, I wasn’t that crazy about the song. Eh. Still good entertainment, though.
I was for Sixwire all the way, and they totally smoked on “This Could Be the Last Time”, but the Clark’s were always unpredictable, talented and good and much deserved a break for their group. They were very sweet (and adorable) onstage when they were announced as the winners.
I hope Sixwire doesn’t fade from the scene as I still want a CD of new music from them. (And if they played close by, I would so be there, as well.
Ditto for the Clark Bros. They need to be able to channel that intensity and talent into a killer CD and on the road.
Gosh I hope this show comes around again! And keeps the honesty and lack of pretension about itself that it had for this year.
I’m happy.
My second favorite (the Clark Bros) won; my favorite (DMHO) came in the top three (and honestly, I would have been thrilled with a finish somewhere in the top 8). And I liked Sixwire as well. Although I do wish that they allowed Sixwire a couple of minutes at the end to give them a proper send-off.
And that Christmas medley was awesome. Pure cheese spiked with eggnog.
I hope it comes back next year. Although not on Friday night. That’s a bad night for everyone. For example I had to watch the finale on my DVR…hubby’s company Christmas party at the same time. Can’t turn down a free Filet Mignon dinner.
If you want more of the top three groups, just head on over to iTunes. There are four DMHO CDs, and one from Sixwire. And, if you look closely, in the background of the I’ll Stand By You video that Carrie Underwood did for IGB, you’ll one of the Clark Brothers playing violin. BTW, the DMGO Christmas CD is AMAZING!
The best part of the finale? The lead singer of Dot Dot Dot dancing with Dicko. Taylor dancing with Simon? Blake shaing it up with Pauler? Hey, and let’s get Randy on stage with his bass next season!
Sorry for the typos, it’s way too early!
We absolutely love the Clark Bros! They are so genuine and have a God given talent that is so rare. We look forward to an awesome CD. I also LOVED “The Likes of YOu”’s original. Byrds’s falcetto is incredible!
Yeah, I loved that too. Dicko really seemed to be having a good time on the Christmas medley. I also got a kick out of when the lead singer of Dot3 said “children, lock up your mothers, it’s Sixwire.”
I also love how they didn’t go completely p.c. and sing generic “holiday” songs and were not afraid to say the word “Christmas” on t.v.
LOVED LOVED LOVED the finale. What a great end to a great season.
I really like to watch live performances. Knowing that it’s taped is a turn-off. However, I enjoyed the judges finale performances as much as the contestants. Everyone looked fabulous!
Combining the bands for some songs was clever and fun. I wish the show could have been longer, it was jam-packed. I definitely want to watch again next season.
Now I’m thinking about… what if they had a mega-tour with So You Think You Can Dance, American Band, and Idol participants. No, I guess it would be too much, since the bands also sing and it would take a fleet of trucks and busses to haul them around.
Have any of the combo/medley songs made it on YouTube yet? I missed the finale and have only seen the individual bands’ performances.
They’re up already. Search Clark Brothers on google video. Sort by date.
