THOUGHTS: Christina is smart to steer Alisan Porter clear of big belty songs. Over and over, Alisan has charted higher with scaled back songs that allow the singer to take an more nuanced approach to delivering emotion. “Somewhere” is a real show-stopper. I’ll be surprised if Alisan does not have the pimp spot tonight because production has been gunning for a Christina win from day one. Ugh. Pharrell. The original song he co-wrote with Hannah Huston is just bizarre. And the stalker song? REALLY. Sigh. Adam and Laith both stay securely within their wheelhouses tonight, which is probably the smart thing to do at this point. Solid original for both songs (if a little boring).
