Yay for Kat’s increases! I’d like to think it’s the combination of increased radio/video play AND Easter sales, but who knows- an increase is an increase- we’ll take it.

Wow, Bucky seems like he would be a great teacher at the Idol camp! I agree with Jersey that Ace would be perfect too. Didn’t watch as much before Season 5 so I can’t comment on the other teachers, but I do remember loving JPL’s performances.
I was reading the appearances on MJ’s front page. I really wish Bo was coming closer to me. I love him and his voice. I hope his health is better and his next CD reflects his sound and genre.

I’m beginning to feel that Taylor should consult some of those women just to find out if it’s okay for him to get out of bed in the mornings..Man, did he change the date or just the venue? Also, isn’t that the show hosted by the radio station that has been giving his single a lot of air-time?
After my experience at Starland on Tuesday, I much prefer HOB type venues than seated venues. Even thou standing all night can be a bit of an annoyance..
It was just a venue change, from The Wiltern to the House of Blues on Sunset. I think the primarily problem was having to purchase a second ticket and such. Anyways, KOST has given out a few tickets for what was the Wiltern show, but they’re primarily promoting the show in Anaheim at The Grove.
And I’m with you - I’ve always preferred general admission shows to seated venues. GA shows are more rambunctious and fun. :)
Okay, so a show that can’t seem to make up it’s mind as to whether they want real singers or easy to market singers to win a silly singing contest wants to teach our kids to sing? Hmmm…why do I see a BIG sucker sign on the foreheads of those parents who fork out thousands of dollars for this camp with false hope that it could help make their kids STARS…

I had completely forgotten about *** being promoted on the BIG SCREEN.. Could very well be the reason for the increase.
If Kat’s promotion in movie theaters got her the sales increase GREAT! Her team is doing their job.
If you look at the charts, all “tween” artists got a big boost for Easter. Ashley Tisdale, etc. I would expect Kat to sell more CDs to that audience. Plus the movie promo probably helped. That said, I don’t think TPTB are holding a party to celebrate her sales. I doubt they’ve made any $ yet on her album (but I could be wrong.) Not to be a downer but I would be surprised to see either Kat or Taylor with the same labels next year. Taylor for a variety of reasons. Kat because of disappointing sales.
Good for Kat for increasing 17%. Good for Kellie increasing 40% without paying for ads in movie theaters.
I still see both idols with the label, maybe because ruben studdard is still signed and kats already passed him in sales, hell give elliott another week and he’ll pass him.
i get to see kat tomorrow! so you guys here can complain about her and pick her apart all you want, i get to see her and hopefully meet her tomorrow and hear her sing on saturday, and thats what it’s all about for me. Not how she sits, or what she said three months ago

Hysterical bit on Leno tonite. In the intro before the show opens, Jay is walking backstage and runs into Nancy Pelosi…she says something about being sorry to be late but she had an important vote…Jay says “Oh, a House vote?” and she says “No, American Idol..I had to vote for Sanjaya, I just love him!”

Exactly. And having to purchase the second ticket without first being refunded for the first one. Some people couldn’t afford to do that. Also, the switch was from an assigned seating venue to a general admission one. So, if you can’t stand all nite, you’re out of luck. In addition, some people had first and second row seats at the Wiltern! GA shows usually mean showing up hours earlier to get a decent spot near the stage. That necessitated some people changing their travel plans to allow for a much earlier arrival than originally planned. If you’re flying in from out of town, that sucks big time.
In any case, people didn’t have a beef with Taylor - just whoever was responsible for the confusion and initial lack of information.
