HECK YES!!! Chris will be guaranteed at least 4 million sales with Home as the elimination song! Love it!!!

  3. 703 purplesmile Feb 22nd, 2007 at 11:07 pm

    Finally!!! ;-D

I have not yet seen the results show and I’m glad to log on and not be spoiled. :)

ETA: Except that I know now that the elimination song is indeed a Chris song. So is it Home?

emeraldgem……….I knew you were injured in the line of duty the other night, but I didn’t realize you were that black and blue. Hope you heal really fast.
Kerri…….it does sound like another good show and I am sure there are already recaps over at Grays.

  5. 705 emeralgem Feb 22nd, 2007 at 11:10 pm

his material is just really poppy and catchy and “what’s in” that he ended up doing well.

There is nothing poppy or catchy about that DAMN song..And if that song is WHAT’S IN, I’m glad Taylor is OUT..JMHO…of course.

My issue with the pimping of Daughtry is that AI seems to have forgotten that we (the viewers) voted and we didn’t choose Daughtry. He left fourth from the top…he didn’t win. So now with all the current pimping AI is saying that our votes don’t matter. They are going to choose who they want. If that’s going to be the case, then they need to pull the plug on the phone and text voting and just let the three judges select the winner (or the producers if that what they want). We don’t get a say in outcome of other reality shows. Maybe it’s time American Idol stopped pretending to let us have say. (Frankly, I’m about one week away from giving up on this season altogether, which is shame because there was some good singing last night.)

Emeral — there is a benign condition called vitiligo that causes depigmentation of the nose, but to tell you the truth without doing a complete exam I can’t tell you much else.

Sometimes with skin disease the only way to diagnose the condition is a skin biopsy. If you are concerned then you should see your vet.

I’m afraid I can’t help much with this one. If any more symptoms become evident try to catch me again.

BTW your golden retriever is black??

  8. 708 emeralgem Feb 22nd, 2007 at 11:18 pm

    Mad… Thank you.

  9. 709 madaboutu Feb 22nd, 2007 at 11:20 pm

Again, IMO, no Idols song should be sung as the boot song. If I were the person getting the boot, I would feel like I were being taunted by someone who did make it. Doesn’t matter who it would be. Daniel Powter had no connection to AI.

  10. 710 emeralgem Feb 22nd, 2007 at 11:22 pm

    ——————————

No, she is the color of honey… She looked just like Winnie the Pooh when she was a puppy, so we named her HUNNY…Since POOH likes HUNNY..
I will take her in next week to the Vet..Thanks Dog Doc. I really appreciate your willingness to help.

Ohhhh. I like the reason for the name choice.

Give me an update if you catch me!!

I think that having someone that didn’t win but is doing so well would be a great incentive for the ones going home, Madaboutu. If they used Taylor’s or another winner’s song then I could see it possibly bothering someone.

I think they probably picked the song once they heard it because it really fits as the exit song. It really is a great song so I’m happy that people will hear it on the show.

DogDoc…I’m not a regular poster but I’d like to ask a question too, if I can. I just adopted a puppy. The shelter said she was a Springer Spaniel mix. I see that but I also see Border Collie. 2 high energy breeds in one dog. I’ve heard horror stories that Borders are awful with kids but Stella is really great with mine. Can the mixing of breeds tone down the negatives of a particular breed, in this case herding tendencies?

Also…is it okay if my puppy doesn’t eat every now and then? She seems to go in spurts.

  15. 715 DogDoc Feb 23rd, 2007 at 12:02 am

    Stefunny,

Yes the mixing of breeds can tone down the negatives and many times you have a healthier pet too. Your pet could be several different breeds and not just two. If you don’t know who the mother and father is then there is no way to tell. In the future, we will probably have genetic markers for the different breeds.

I always warn people that anytime you adopt a puppy or any pet from any animal shelter they have a chance of breaking with a disease the first two weeks that own them. It is like putting your child in kindergarten and they come home with a cold.

Puppies will be very high energy, then just fall asleep. Most puppies eat two to four times a day depending on their age. As long as there is no diarrhea, coughing, or vomiting and he is still very active then you are probably fine.

It is important that you take your puppy to a vet for a check up. All puppies need to be dewormed - usually several times - and need vaccines and boosters in the following weeks depending on their age.

    Congratulations!!!

I understand what you’re saying. But the big theme of last season was pretty much “wow, all these people have a shot at winning so I guess it doesn’t really matter who does.”
Was anybody really surprised when Daughtry or Pickler got a contract? What it really came down to last year was the dedication and size of the fanbase. Taylor and Chris pretty much had an equal fanbase with Chris usually nabbing the fair weather voters. That’s why it was such a shock to see him voted off. Everyone seemed to love Chris. Unfortunately something happened that night, and we’ll never know what it was.
Last season was awesome. It totally legitimized the show and showed us that YES, someone can be successful on American Idol even if they do not win. I think that really opened a lot of doors for real artists and musicians to try out. It’s a great vehicle for someone to start there career. It gives someone exposure and it’s not a cheesy karaoke competition. I, personally, think it’s great Kat, Chris, Kellie and hopefully Elliott are doing respectably. Now I can watch the show and not think to myself “i can’t believe these losers tryed out for this dumb reality show.” I now find myself wondering about there history and what their original material sounds like.

Our friends have a border collie who has a black nose but she was bitten by an insect and her nose turned pink for over a week. Might have nothing to do with your case but wanted to let you know that happened.

  20. 720 weelassie Feb 23rd, 2007 at 12:48 am

    Stefunny,
as i posted above, our friends have a border collie-lots of energy but she is wonderful with their little girl. I watch the dog a good bit and I have found that a frisbee is my best friend. We play for a long time:) She is a great dog. One thing she does that cracks me up is that when we take her for a walk, she spins in circles as she walks. You really have to watch her when she does this as she has thunked into parked cars or anything else that she doesn’t see as she is spinning around.

I have a pure bred cocker and she has had some big time problems. She had luxating patella. Her knee caps wouldn’t stay in place. She has had two surgeries but she still has a limp. My hubby said we should just get a mutt but I fell for this little buff ball of fur. I guess sometimes hubby knows best. I love her dearly and she is so smart , she behaves so well and I am so grateful that she allows us to live in “her house” but we did get health problems with a pure breed.

The girls on Idol did a great job. I have to say though so many diva style singers make me long for Bo and Taylor even more. They are good ..the girls..but this is not my style of music really so I was longing for a soulful or rocker guy or girl…maybe one will emerge.. surely they cant sing those diva songs each week..lol. There are a few of the women that would sound very good doing some Nora Jones or Joss Stone. As for the guys..they better pick up their game.

  23. 723 weelassie Feb 23rd, 2007 at 1:14 am

    Hey botay,
I’m thinking maybe some of the diva gals can do more than just belt. Stephanie and Sabrina strike me as ones who can do other styles and I bet Melinda can slow it down or change styles also. She seems to have a lot of talent and depending on who she sang back up for-there may be several stlyes she has been exposed to.

BTW, I have read from many posters that Taylor is a little sick.

But reports from everyone who saw his concert(s) say they did not notice it.

I still have high hopes for Leslie Hunt. She points to the famed Jazz singer — Nina Simone as her influence.

I am so confused about the Anna Nicole decision. how can you release a body to be buried when you don’t know who the babies father is. If Larry Birkhead is the father and finally gets his child, why should she have to go to the Bahamas to visit her. Howard Stern is not a citizen of the Bahamas and will probably be evicted from the house he is squatting in-how is he going to get a job. Anna was his gravy train. Her son lived in CA and was only visiting her in the Bahamas. What a tangle of knots to untangle. Just order the frikin DNA test and find out who the father is. Makes me crazy that in the Bahamas that you can write down whoever you want as the father and that makes it so………yikes. I don’t believe for one minute that Wylie Coyote Stern is the biological father of that baby. What a mess.

  27. 727 madaboutu Feb 23rd, 2007 at 1:29 am

LittleBoyBlue……..MY BAD!!!!!!! I thought the vid I posted was different than yours. Sorry……….

  28. 728 cricket Feb 23rd, 2007 at 1:33 am

Weelassie , like I said before , Stern is the grim reaper. They need to get that baby away from him before something happens to her too. And that judge , I think he got hold of some of Anna’s drugs. I have never seen such a mess. Since when can someone take someone elses child and say I’m the father and you can’t get near her to prove your parentage ? This creep is a parasite with an obsession for Anna and will now focus his obsession on Anna’s baby. He claimed someone stole Anna’s computers and her journals but yet his lawyer had a whole fist full of Anna’s e-mails. I think he is the one who stole those items because she had probably written incriminating things that would fry his a–.

  29. 729 Botay Feb 23rd, 2007 at 1:47 am

I think Leslie Hunt shows promise too Blue. But will she get to stick around with VFTW promoting Antonella?? I hope so.

  30. 730 weelassie Feb 23rd, 2007 at 2:35 am

    cricket,
it was actually the guys son in law who owns the house in the bahamas that has the “stolen” goods. This is the older gentleman from South Carolina who she also told he was the daddy but he had a vasectomy. oops. His son in law went there on his behalf and has a key to the house because his family owns it. he went there after anna died to secure the house. He says she asked him a few months ago if anything ever happened to her to please make sure certain items of hers were safe. he has her computers, some paintings, pictures, etc and he says he gave them to a law enforcement person to keep them safe. He was not charged with theft because he has a key to the house. Mr coyote knows the items are not stolen. That is where the video came from that a snippet was played in court today-the one of her with clown paint on her face and being blitzed out of her mind. Howard took the video and kept asking her if she was doing mushrooms and laughing about it. doesn’t seem like they were worried at all about that baby. She was about 8 months pregnant in the video. It will be a miracle if that little girl will be ok. She was a walking pharmacy.

  31. 731 weelassie Feb 23rd, 2007 at 2:40 am

    cricket,
i guess it is the law in the bahamas that if your name is on the birth certificate, then your the father. period. Howard asked the guy from south carolina to help him do research to find a place for her to move to that would block larry birkhead any access to her child. She seems to be the type of person that if she gets mad at you that you are cut out of her life. Not very friendly. very sad that stern can hide in the bahamas and he does not have to give a dna sample from the baby. He has possession and puts him in the drivers seat. What a mess. He has no trouble keeping whoever the real father is away from their child. I seriously doubt he is the father or he would do the DNA test in a heartbeat. While her mother was on the stand and crying, he was sitting there and smirking and laughing to himself. What an a$$hat.
